You’re new best friend HYALURONIC ACID
Hyaluronic acid? Who is she? She’s your new best friend also called “hyaluronan” hyaluronic acid is found naturally in your body, it’s in your eyes, skin, and connective tissue (she does it all.) hyaluronic acid main function is to retain moisture, it can hold up to 1000x times it weight in moisture! So what is it gonna do? It is going to trap that moisture from the air suck it in and slap it right onto your pretty perfect face And keep your skin hydrated, smooth, plump, and cute! Once it does that it’s actually going to tell your sebaceous gland to slow down on the production of sebum, so if you have oily dehydrated skin this will work the wonders you’ve been looking for. Hyaluronic has plentiful of Benefits, it helps wounds especially from acne so it will help heal instead of scar. Sense your body produces hyaluronic acid it’s actually very rare for someone to have allergic reaction to this ingredient! What I’ve done is put together 3 products ranging from $5 to $100 let’s say hi and talk about them! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

The Best Advice For Choosing Skincare Products
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ So I’ve recommended a lot of products and thought I’d share some advice on how how I select skincare products these days. ☺️ Thanks to @babesandbeauty on Instagram for the advice. Products that you consistently use I noticed that I consistently use TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum which has Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E as my day Serum. I also have The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for my night routine. I’ve started using Truskin’s Super Serum at night and now alternate between using a natural Retinol or Vitamin A Moisturiser and the Truskin Super Serum which has Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Retinol. I now can’t live without my FORMULA 10.0.6 - Rise of the Foam Blemish Busting Cleanser I use this because of the salicylic acid and hemp oil as part of my double cleansing routine. I’m currently trialing products for my first cleanse. 😄 I noticed the ingredients are ideal for my issues which are rough texture, larger than average pores, dullness and my wrinkles and fine lines. For reducing the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles I ❤️ hyaluronic acid!!!! Products that are ideal for your skin type I’m a little lucky in the fact that I have combination skin and can use a range of products for my issues. Treating the wrong skin type can lead to irritated skin, breakouts and premature aging. Choosing the correct skin care routine for your skin type is essential for making your skin appear youthful and healthy. Products that do not cause irritation to your skin barrier Our skin is the largest barrier against infection that we have. Keeping our skin healthy and moist helps keep this barrier strong. Using the proper skin care products for your skin type can help preserve this important protective layer. ☺️ Products that fit your budget and life The Ordinary creators have totally changed how we think about and buy skin care. Its allowed us to understand ingredients and offered them in ridiculously cheap formulas. It’s championed transparency in an industry that wants you to think expensive products are better. Nothing costs more than $20. In fact, the majority of it ranges at less than $10. This is largely in part thanks to The Ordinary's dedication to transparency, resulting in prices that aren't significantly marked up. Although if you can afford to spend $150 I’d recommend purchasing a Serum rather than a cleanser or moisturiser. Drop me a line about what you consider when you purchase skincare products. Is it the beautiful packaging, ingredient list or that you just saw a review and want to try it. ☺️ Have a wonderful day or evening Jade 🥂
When hydration is needed 💦
I am a dry skinned girl so I am always on the look out for hydrators and moisturizers. This is especially the case as I like to use actives in my routine and they can further dry out my skin. Hyaluronic acid is one of my go to ingredients as it draws moisture into my skin and it works well with other ingredients. The ordinary offers this serum which is great as it is super affordable and it works well with my skin. What is it: This is a hyaluronic acid serum with 3 different weighted molecules so that it can penetrate and hydrate different layers if the skin. Hyaluronic acids is a humectant meaning it absorbs moisture from the air and draws it into the skin. This serum also has b5 which helps nourish and soften the skin. Texture: This is a goopy and cloudy serum that is easily absorbed into my dry skin. Price: This sells at Sephora for $6.80 cad for 1 oz or $12.20 cad for 2oz How I use this: I use this along with my steamer to make sure that the air is moisture rich in order to draw moisture to my skin. This ensures I get the best result. Pros 👍: affordable 2 sizes available accessible effective cruelty free 🐰 Cons 👎: some people don’t like the texture you shouldn’t over use hyaluronic acid (check other products) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this is a super simple serum that has really helped my dry skin
Why to Add HA Serum to your Routine
The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid serum is a cult favourite. It has won an Allure Beauty Award in 2019. It retails for only $6.80 CAD. When winter came and I was noticing that my skin was feeling dry by midday it was an easy decision to add it to my routine! Claims It is a pure vegan hyaluronic acid that includes low, medium and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, at a concentration of 2%. It is supported by Vitamin B5 for enhanced hydration. It targets dryness. Good for all skin types. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hyaluronic Acid helps plump fine lines and improves elasticity and dryness. It’s a great addition to your skincare routine once you are in your 30s to help with hydration, as the amount of HA in our skin decreases as we get older. HA is sugar that is found naturally in our skin. It can hold 1000x its weight in water. Eating a diet with lots of fruits & vegetables with antioxidants can also help us retain HA. HA can we found in HA serums, an addition to serums with other actives, and creams. HA plays well with most other ingredients. A cream or serum with HA in different molecular weights allows it to seep into different layers of skin. HA are typically less expensive than other serums such as Vit C. It works best when applied to a damp face or before a water-based serum or moisturizer because it pulls the water into your skin. Otherwise it could pull the water out of your skin. My Experience The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The serum is clear and easily applies. I don’t experience any tackiness. When I first introduced this product to my routine I was using it AM & PM as it recommends, but I started noticing some irritation, red cheeks. I read some people can experience irritation from HA. I scaled back to only using in the AM. I put it on directly after my cleanser and before my Vit C serum. No more irritation. I have noticed that the dryness I was experiencing by midday is gone but I can’t say that I’ve noticed any difference in fine lines or wrinkles. A HA serum with more molecular weights and a higher percentage might have better results. But for $7 I can’t complain. Other HA to try include: VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid SerumPAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster
HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖
SKINCEUTICALS REVIEW ✨✨✨
Testing out this Skinceuticals lineup 🥰 I really enjoyed all of the products pictured! they felt amazing and my skin is looking glowy, bright and hydrated this evening Skinceuticals pioneered the term “cosmeceuticals”: cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients claiming to enhance skincare efficacy. All formulas are based on optimal concentrations of active ingredients elegantly crafted into functional products- designed, formulated, and tested for effectiveness. 1st pic: SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid discoloration correcting botanical serum with kojic acid that hydrates and soothes SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel : really nice hydrating serum with vitamin B5 (panthenol), is super silky and great at plumping and softening skin SKINCEUTICALS - Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier Serum : another nice hydrating serum! Felt light but very hydrating, had an interesting color and consistency, layered well SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum : really nice vitamin C serum 😍 also has vitamin E and Ferulic acid. This is a light yet effective antioxidant serum that reduces oxidative damage from free radicals, brightens skin and reduces fine lines/wrinkles. Love it! Also very layerable (everything in this lineup is) SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Mask : a clear gel that felt surprisingly rich in a way, it instantly melted onto my skin and infused the surface with hydration! This formula also has vitamin B5 (panthenol) which is incredible for softening, plumping, and soothing. I’ve seen the benefits of this ingredient from some of my hair products as well SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.5 Retinol Night Cream : I applied this on my neck just to test, the texture was felt nice and didn’t irritate my skin at all
Heard of Propylene Glycol yet？
ACNE. PIMPLES.OILY SKIN. Propylene glycol is commonly used in skin care products. It has the effect of moisturizing, lubricating and promoting absorption on the skin. It is slightly sticky when used on the face. Although propylene glycol can be used in skin care products and has certain skin care efficacy, its main component is alcohol, which will cause certain irritation to the skin if it is used for a long time. Moreover, it cannot be used in high concentration, which will cause skin allergy and other skin problems. In addition, do not use skin care products containing propylene glycol for sensitive skin. Let me list three main shortcomings. 1. Irritant: some people will have subjective burning, tingling and itching when they use it. 2. Defatting: propylene glycol has strong permeability and strong solubility. Excessive use may cause harm to skin. 3. Irritating dermatitis: propylene glycol is irritating to the skin and mucous. The higher the concentration is, the more irritating it is. And it is easy to cause the redness, rash, itching and rough skin. One of the products I used recently contains propylene glycol, but the concentration is very low. Generally speaking, the concentration of propylene glycol is less than 5%, which is not irritant. I checked the ingredient list of this product. Propylene glycol is used as solvent and humectant. The degree of safety is 2 (Health) - 3 (moderate). So there are still some risks. I used it for more than a month, but I didn't find any special effect. The biggest feature is that the texture is very sticky, as same as the texture of propylene glycol. In fact, propylene glycol is gradually being eliminated. Due to the relatively cheap price, it will be inevitably used in skin care products for a future long time. Niacinamide: My Favourite Ingredient
Niacinamide is one of my all-time favourite ingredients and it’s really not talked about enough. Niacinamide is proving to be a power player in skincare, managing to soothe inflammation, reduce redness, control oil production, minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, even skin tone, improve texture, improve the appearance of fine lines, and improve skin radiance. It’s truly such a multi-faceted ingredient and I recommend it in all routines! Here are my experiences with some popular niacinamide serums: • The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% was my first niacinamide serum. It played a huge role in transforming my skin from oily to normal/combo. It also helped tons with my acne... until it didn’t. The zinc in this formulation is hit-or-miss, being a hit for most! But I found myself in the small population of the miss category, my skin reacting poorly to prolonged use. I still recommend folks wanting to try niacinamide on a budget give it a try at $5.90USD for 30mL and $10.60 for 60mL. •THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum came next, its $6.99/30mL price tag making it a good zinc-free budget alternative. This product utilizes niacinamide in a base of glycerin, squalane, and hyaluronic acid, focusing on light hydration alongside the touted oil control. The lip does get a bit clogged with crystallized product, but the applicator is convenient for travel. I enjoyed this serum, but the ingredient list is a bit basic. • PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster , at $44.00 per 20mL... I was hesitant to purchase this serum. But I’ve got two back-ups of this serum on the way, if that says anything about how “worth it” it is. It helped reduce the appearance of the sebaceous filaments on my chin, forehead, and the bridge of my nose, plus I experience less irritation from altering my skin routine than I normally would... and I find my skin just feels bouncy after I apply this serum- perhaps an effect of the absolutely stacked INCI list! Whereas the other formulas are bare bones, PC packs in CoQ10, vitamin c, and allantoin, boosting its anti-aging and soothing properties. If you can afford it, I’d give it a try! Its pore-minimizing results alone will keep me repurchasing.

Which Niacinamide Serum Is For You?
There are tons of niacinamide serums, especially now that niacinamide has been catapulted into popularity by skinfluencers on Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, and Cherie. But there are a lot- what’s the difference, other than cost? Well, it’s the ingredient list. • PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster is my all-time favourite niacinamide product. Niacinamide, a vitamin C derivative, multiple antioxidants (CoQ10 being one of note), soothing allantoin, calming licorice root extract, and a variety of humectants that include sodium hyaluronate. This serum is hydrating, soothing, and brightening, in addition to its regulating oil production and minimizing the appearance of pores. Nothing has helped my sebaceous filaments like using this and PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator . I recommend this for all skin types, particularly dry, sensitive, and/or mature skin. • THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum is as simple as they come, with a short INCI list that touts niacinamide, multiple humectants (like actual hyaluronic acid which is also soothing), squalane, and allantoin. It’s a no-frills formula whose price is hard to pass up. I’d recommend this for all skin types, especially sensitive skin that may want to avoid a lot of different ingredients, or dry skin which will enjoy the inclusion of extra emollients. • The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a weird serum for me. I personally don’t like it and had horrible results- my skin broke out into tiny red bumps and felt itchy anytime I applied even the most diluted droplet of it. But I later learned it is the Zinc PCA in the product that can sometimes cause the skin reaction. That Zinc PCA is part of why this serum is amazing for oily and acne prone skin- zinc helps to balance sebum (oil) production and can reduce the occurrence of acne. So if your skin likes zinc, this serum is 5/5 stars for the cost! Those sensitive to zinc will want to skip, as well as dry skin folks since the combo of niacinamide and zinc pca can be a bit drying if your serum production doesn’t need balancing. What are some other products you’d like to see me compare? #CheriePartner

【1+1>2】My New Spring Routine
First to introduce my skin type, I am combination. Tzone can be oily, occasionally has acne issues. Here is the new routine I am on recently. 【 The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 2% 】+ 【 indeed Retinal Reface 】 💙Niacinamide is great for hydration, recovery, as well as balancing the skin tone and control acne issue. Zinc is really good to help with control the oily face, so TO serum is great for oily face in general. If your skin is very dry normally you might want to add a good hydranating product as well. 💛Retinal is THE ANTI-AGING gold. Retinal anti-aging works the most efficiently when together with niacinamide. In addition, niacinamide helps with developing skin’s tolerance to retinal as well. So 1+1>2! However, please make sure only use this combination during night time. Retinal makes skin sensitive towards sunlight so avoid use it in morning. Also you should use sunblocks in the morning if you used Retinal product during the night time. Niacinamide is fine in day time but still make sure use that darn sunblocks!! If your skin type is sensitive, you can start with something that has less niacinamide (3%-5%) than the TO serum. 10% can be pretty intense for anyone who didn't use niacinamide before.

Ingredient Highlight: NIACINAMIDE
Ingredient: Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3 Treats: Acne and Ezcema What it does: Create a lipid barrier on the skin Reduces redness and blotchiness Minimizes pore appearance Regulates oil production My favorite Niacinamide Serums: For daytime- ALPHA-H - Vitamin B Serum With Niacinamide This is a cocktail of amazing ingredients like Niacinamide to improve skin texture, Copper peptides to rejuvenate skin cells and boost collagen and elastin production, and Chia Seeds which are rich in Omega-3, fatty acids and antioxidants to plump and hydrate skin. I also apply a few drops to my palm and press into my skin. For nighttime- THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum This is a lightweight gel serum with 10% Niacinamide and 1% Hyaluronic Acid that helps to control oil production and reduce blemishes. I’ve been loving this and have seen a huge difference in my skin texture since using.

The most Important element in my skin care
The most important thing in your skin care routine, should be preventative products. I have red hair, and therefore the MC1R gene which makes me more likely to get melanoma. As a result sunscreen has always been a big part of my life and skin care regimen. But, I inevitably get a lot of sun spots on my face in summer. through research I recently started to learn about antioxidants for skin care, and how amongst many other things, they can protect your skin from free radicals. This is important to do along with your SPF. Many environmental factors can lead to skin damage so I think its important to do everything you can to protect your skin when out and about in the world. What makes The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1% unique is its ability to regenerate molecules throughout the day, keeping your skin moisturized and protected. Also, unlike fussy products like vitamin C and Retinol that make your skin more sensitive to the sun, you never have to worry with EUK. Its It's great for sensitive skin and doesn't react negativity with other products, although it may not perform optimally with some strong acids. EUK 134 is a product I will continue to purchase over and over. I love the texture. Its watery enough to spread easily, but oily enough to blend with other products and your skin.

Fav skincare brands: Paula’s Choice ✨
You know I can always get behind brands who put in the research on their products. Paula’s Choice is celebrating their 25th anniversary & I want to show you the hype! Why do I love Paula’s Choice? There are so many reasons... 1. They have a public access Ingredient Dictionary that is backed by scholarly articles. They lost out tons of common ingredients in skincare products and rate them as “poor, average, good, or best” to give you an idea of why the ingredient is added into the formula and why you should or should not use it. This is a great way to learn more about ingredients if you don’t have easy access to a dermatologist. 2. They have SO MANY LINES! They truly cater to so many skin types across any and all age ranges. They even have a quick skin quiz you can take that customized a routine specifically for your skin concerns—and doesn’t force you to add every single item to your cart! You can pick and choose what you need. I love that so much. 3. Their packaging/branding is clinical—but never intimidating. Their labeling is incredibly easy to read and explains what the products do in language that everyone can understand. 4. Their products are great. Three standout products that I have already reviewed on Cherie are their 10% niacinamide booster, 2% BHA Liquid, and their super light daily wrinkle defense spf 30: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster PAULA'S CHOICE - Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator . These specific products I would say are catered towards normal to oily skin types with acne but I can use them on my dry spots as well. 5. I highly recommend checking them out. Since they are celebrating their 25th anniversary they will be having a huge sale! *Paula’s Choice has never gifted me any products—everything has been purchased by me! I do want to mention that as of 9:16 PM EST 5/31/2020, Paula’s Choice has not released a statement or any messaging regarding George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, or any sign of support. Apparently they are working on it with internal stakeholders but as of now they haven’t released anything which is very disappointing. Silence is deafening. Thanks for reading guys.
