Advice I tell to my funky coloured hair clients❤
Advice I tell to my funky coloured hair clients❤
Hello bright haired beauties! Today I wanted to talk about the advice I give to my funky coloured hair clients on how they can make their colour last! As you all probably know, having brightly coloured hair can be so expensive because you’re in the salon almost every month! I’m here to help you save money and keep your hair looking vibrant for as long as possible! The most important tip I can give is wash your hair in cold water. Why? Because when you wash your hair in hot water, it allows the hair cuticle to open, meaning the “scales” (as I like to call them) are completely lifted up allowing the colour to wash out more easily. When you wash your hair in cold water, however, the hair cuticle stays completely closed which lets little to no colour to wash out. Secondly, you can add a little semipermanent colour to your shampoo. Buy the closest colour to your hair as possible, and squeeze some of it into your shampoo bottle and shake until mixed. That way when you shampoo, a little colour is deposited to your hair making it look refreshed! I warn you though, do not do this everyday or else your colour will start to look dull or muddy.. and girl we do not want that. 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️ I’d say every 3-4 days is enough! Lastly, you don’t want to use drugstore shampoo. Not once. Drugstore shampoos contain chemicals like Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Parabens which actually dries out your hair, causes skin irritation over time, and (you guessed it) dulls your hair colour! Professional shampoos do not contain these chemicals, which is why your hairdresser probably encourages you to pick up products from the salon before you head home. And that’s all I have for you today, guys! I hope you found these tips helpful and please let me know in the comments if you have any questions. Until next time!! 💖💖💖
