Urban skinrx vitamin C
Urban skinrx vitamin C
This is one of the best vitamin c products for the value in my opinion! Boasting both 15% vitamin c and Kojic acid this product has really helped my post acne pigmentation which is my TOP skincare concern. I got this at CVS for about 25 dollars which really can’t be beat in terms of price. I also like that this isn’t tacky on application like many vitamin c products can be. Overall this is a great affordable pick for anyone needing a vitamin c serum!

Best Niacinamide
Best Niacinamide
Please read my previous post to know the benefits of niacinamide and why we all need one niacinamide product in our skin routines. These are my top 3 niacinamide products that I love!! I have used these three over a period of time and absolutely love all these three. NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% tips my chart for the best niacinamide products out there. I have currently been using this for over two months and I am seeing great results. The product itself is a very light weight serum. Gets absorbed into the skin very quickly and is not sticky or heavy. Sits well under my makeup. My skin has evened out in both texture and it’s tone. This product doesn’t have a particular fragrance and doesn’t cause any skin irritations. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster is my second choice on this list. This is a booster product and I used to mix this with my moisturizer. Just great results for this one too- my skin pores looked much smaller, evened out my skin and helped my skin retain its moisturizer . Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum this also another great niacinamide to add onto your skin routine. This product kinda looks like a highlighter on your face because it gives a glow. Very effective though, reduced my hyperpigmentation and helped my skin looked more clear and left it hydrated. So, in short all these three are great Niacinamide products. They were all effective, great results and evened out my skin tone and texture .

Niacinamide For Acne, Dark Marks and More!
Niacinamide For Acne, Dark Marks and More!
Hailed as the new "it" and “holy grail” ingredient in skincare, niacinamide is an active form of Vitamin B3.  It's available in many skin care products and one of the best you can add to your skincare routine! Not all formulas and concentrations are the same or function the same ways. So here are the top products I’ve tried and all about how niacinamide works: PAULA'S CHOICE - Niacinamide 20% Treatment ✨Improves chronic bumpy skin/orange-peel texture ✨Reduces appearance of sagging stretched pores ✨Brightens blotchy tone, fades post-acne marks ✨Fights advanced signs of aging  PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster ✨Reduces rough texture ✨Minimizes appearance of large pores ✨Brightens a dull complexion  ✨Fights fine lines and early signs of aging  SKINCEUTICALS - Discoloration Defense Skin Discoloration Serum ✨Lightens and improves appearance of dark spots ✨Brightens skin tone and texture  The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ✨Reduces acne and dark spot appearance ✨Reduces pore congestion ✨Balances oil production in skin PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment ✨Fades discoloration and post-acne marks ✨Brightens and repairs uneven skin tone  SATURDAY SKIN - Bright Potion Probiotic Power Serum ✨Improves skin barrier protection, hydration and tone ✨Nourishes skin and promotes luminous appearance   #Apostrophe - Azelaic Acid 15% + Niacinamide 4% Formula[products]#[FiveStars] ✨Smooths fine lines and wrinkles  ✨Improves skin barrier protection and moisture  ✨Brightens skin and fades dark marks  PEACE OUT - Microneedling Dark Spot Brightening Dots ✨Micro-needle patches for faster results  ✨Lightens appearance of dark spots ✨Dark patches become clear and even How niacinamide works: ✨Skin friendly - every skin type can use it ✅Best for acne-prone skin, oily skin, dry skin, combination skin, sensitive skin 🧪Works by inhibiting oil production skin which is beneficial for acne-prone and oily skin types. As a cream or serum, it’s non-irritating and very tolerable compared to other skin treatments. This makes it favorable for people with dry or sensitive skin. ✨Anti-inflammatory - skin calming  ✅Best for - treating inflammatory acne, acne rosacea, skin redness 🧪Works to inhibit inflammatory pathway elements within the body. This  subsequently prevents migration of products involved in inflammation to the skin! As a result, skin becomes less inflamed and irritated.  ✨Brightening - a miracle dark mark corrector ✅Best for - dark marks, post-acne hyperpigmentation, dull complexion 🧪Works to inhibit the transfer of skin's light absorbing pigment, melanin, into the outer layers of the skin. This leads to an overall faded appearance of spots. ✨Anti- Aging - treatment and prevention ✅Best for fine lines, sallow skin, wrinkles  🧪Works by supplementing antioxidants that fight against skin’s free radicals associated with aging and photoaging (skin aging due to sun/UV exposure.)  🧪Works by preventing deposits of cellular components in skin cells that make skin stiff and rigid during photoaging. The appearance of creases and wrinkles become reduced. ✨Completion correcting - smoother texture and complexion  ✅Best for uneven skin texture and tone  🧪Works by supplementing an antioxidant that promotes healthy skin cell growth. Skin becomes renewed and vibrant.  🧪Works by increasing the production of ceramides which maintain skin’s barrier. Skin looks moisturized and softer. Overall, niacinamide is a safe, versatile product and fabulous addition to a daily skincare regimen.

How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
I started having acne breakouts back in October 2019 and I had no idea what was causing it. Pimples and dark spots were always there for about 6 to 7 months, I had no idea what products to use so basically I just lived with it, hoping they will all magically disappear one day.   Before I get into sharing with you guys how I got rid some the dark spots and actual acne as seen on the images on this post, let me give a back story—I grew up with 0 skin problems. Yes, you read that right, I didn’t go through that awkward teenage phase. Thus, I grew up having no knowledge about skincare.   It all started back in 2017 when I visited Seoul Korea during winter time—I did not have any skincare routine, and I would literally just wash my face with the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and that’s about it. I literally had no idea which moisturizer is good for my skin, even more so what serums are for, or even what face mask would suit my skin type.   After 2 months of getting back from Korea, my skin suddenly started to feel dry, and that’s also when I started getting acne from time to time. I realized from there on that my skin type is normal to dry. Given that huge self-skin revelation, I started simple by incorporating the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Crème to my skincare routine and let me tell you that I have been using it daily, every day and night ever since! I promise you that it is lightweight and super moisturizing on the skin, and it won’t mess up with your makeup throughout the day.   Every now and then, I have been experimenting with other skincare products but I keep on ending up with sticking to my simple 2-step skincare routine. Fast forward to what has been happening to my skin lately, I realized that I had to try and look for something that would really work for me. After doing proper research and watching endless YouTube reviews, I finally found 3 products that worked best for my skin problems: 1.    Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe Acne Clear Micellar Water 3-in-1 Caring Cleanser 2.    Hada Labo Goko Jyun Hydrating Lotion 3.    Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Serum   I start off by cleansing my face with Cetaphil, pat my skin dry, then pour the Nivea Micellar Water onto a clean cotton pad and gently wipe it on my face. I usually consume 2-3 pads of cotton to make sure I get rid of all the excess dirt and makeup residue on my skin. After this step, I apply the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion with the use of my finger tips to the drier areas of my skin and then let it dry for a few seconds before I apply the Snail Truecia Miracle Repair Serum on areas where I have dark spots. I finish off my skincare routine with the Nivea moisturizer and apply it all over my face.     After adding these 3 products to my skincare routine, I could definitely say that I had way less acne appearing on my skin, and that my dark spots are now getting lighter. Would I recommend these to anyone? 100% yes!

What is Azelaic acid, which brand?
What is Azelaic acid, which brand?
If I could pick an ingredient that’s been a standout for my acne marks (the pigmentation marks left behind when acne is healing); it would 100% be Azelaic Acid! What is Azelaic Acid? It is a gentle topical exfoliant (so gentle I use it everyday & even combine it with my Retin-A). This is a direct quote from Paula’s Choice website! “It’s a mystery why some great skincare ingredients fly under the radar, despite research proving them more than worthy of your attention. Azelaic Acid is one of those ingredients! A great deal of research has shown that azelaic acid can significantly diminish the appearance of skin blemishes, help fade post-acne marks and other discolorations, refine skin’s surface, and reveal a more even skin tone. It can even reduce skin sensitivity and is compatible with any skin type. In short, azelaic acid is an ingredient you need to know about.” Which brand is better? I first purchased The Ordinary bc the price is much lower. I did not like the formula on this one. It has a dimethicone finish and it tends to pill with my routine. Even though it has 10% AA, I don’t think the formulation is that great 👎🏼 The Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid booster is my favorite product for hyperpigmentation!!!! It works SO good. Within 4 weeks my marks had faded significantly. It is a booster so it can be combined with moisturizer! I highly highly recommend this product. Paula’s Choice has sales often, so find it on sale. It is $36, but with the results it is worth it!! The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster

Skincare Story: Acne to Eczema to Glow-Up
Skincare Story: Acne to Eczema to Glow-Up
When I started my skincare journey, I had the oiliest skin imaginable and dealt with constant hormonal breakouts. I tried every brand Sephora had to offer- each one filled with more fragrance, essential oils, and/or alcohol than the last. My skin quickly became overwhelmed and I broke out into terrible atopic dermatitis which would become chronic. And bam! I had eczema. It was... a struggle, to say the least. I went from oily to combination, with flare-ups that got me so dry I’d flake. Unpleasant. But I learned. I switched to fragrance-, essential oil-, alcohol-free skincare. Cleansers with gentle surfactants. Less exfoliation and more nourishing ingredients. Added hydrating products to reduce the dehydration that caused my oily skin and keep my now-combo skin happy. I gave my skin at least 2-4 no-actives rest days every week. My skin slowly recuperated. Now my hyperpigmentation is fading and my eczema flare-ups are less common. I still get breakouts, but they’re less painful and less long-lived. A few products (such as PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster and The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% ) are amazing for their role in reducing my hyperpigmentation, but I can’t emphasize enough how my acne and eczema flare-ups wouldn’t have improved if I hadn’t eliminated my triggers by switching brands. I stopped using fragranced brands like Origins, Fresh, Herbivore, Dr Jart, Tatcha, and Summer Fridays, and switched to biocompatible brands like Drunk Elephant, The Ordinary, The Inkey List, and Paula’s Choice. By taking out all possible irritants, my skin found peace. My acne reduced in frequency + intensity and I nowadays a combo of PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster and PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator keeps them short-lived. Skin rest days are still important but I can’t emphasize enough that your skin is an organ and everyone should be treating it as such 🙌🏽
