Hi guys, There’s a spot on my head where there seems to be missing hair. I touch if and it feels like a patch of very short hair. I’ve had something like this for years and I can’t figure out what it is. Anybody knows? I’m sorry for the quality of the pic. Thank you for your help!

Do’s and Don’t’s for Combo Skin
🪐 It can be very tricky having combo skin. My skin can go from being so dry it’s peeling to covered in a fine film of oil depending on weather, location, hormones, diet...really anything. I also consistently struggle with minor breakouts while also dealing with minor find lines because I’m ya know...30. 🪐 Do: - Change it up! My routine can be completely different depending on what my skin is doing. There’s no need to feel anchored down in one routine if that’s not what your skin is craving. - Use actives! Chemical exfoliants and retinol have helped me so much with balancing out my skin. I use them consistently whether my skin is going through an oily or dry spell and they definitely put me more in the normal range. - Replenish your skin barrier. Often times skim that is oily and dry can be due to a damaged skin barrier. Things like ceramides, omega 3 fatty acids, and antioxidants will help keep your skin barrier happy and keep your skin more in the normal range (especially if you are using actives). 🪐 Don’t’s: - Forget your sun screen. This is for all skin types. Just wear your sunscreen. - Punish your skin. I’ve definitely been prone to using overly harsh products when my skin is acting up. It can definitely be tempting to just want to beat your skin into submission but don’t do it!! That will only further damage your skin barrier and make things worse. - Overdo it. This goes hand in hand with the last one. I’ve definitely been guilty of overdoing it with actives (especially chemical exfoliants...I have a problem) or just having overly complicated routines. Less is more. Go slow with actives and incorporate products into your routine slowly that way if your skin freaks out you know what the culprit is. Find what works for you and stick with it.

How to grow strong, healthy, natural nails! Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! This week I felt inspired to share how I learned to get my nails to grow longer and stronger. It’s relatively easy if you are dedicated and are willing to take a few extra steps. Here’s a little background on my nail story. I never bit my nails (only because the thought of the amount of germs and bacteria that live on our hands just grossed me out) or picked at my cuticles. What I noticed that significantly damaged my nails was when I got fake nails (obviously). They completely destroyed my nail beds. They were painful, soft, brittle, peeled, you name it! So I stopped and gave my nails time to breathe. Then I discovered gel and how convenient it was. But again the constant nail buffing damaged my nails causing them to dry out and peel. So I decided to track back to regular nail polish thinking it would solve all my problems but no! My nails continues to break and peel. I later realized that I wasn’t going to the best nail salons. Sure they were quick and inexpensive but they didn’t use the best products and techniques to maintain nail health. So I started doing my own manicures and learned from trial and error how to get my nails to where they are today. So first thing I’d like to recommend (professional nail tech please don’t come for me) is to stop ALL forms of buffing to the nail bed. I noticed once that stopped my nails got thicker and had less noticeable lines and ridges. Next I bought a better top coat. For the last two years I’ve been using the nailtiques brand. They have different formulas for different needs and they worked pretty good to protect my nails. I don’t recommend buying it on amazon they’re extremely over priced there. nailtiques - Nail Protein Formula 2 Plus ***This is very important: when changing your nail color be aware of the nail polish remover that you use! Most nail polish removers are very abrasive and skin the natural oils of you nails so make sure to wash your hand thoroughly after you finish. Make sure to apply hand lotion after to moisturize your nails again. Don’t apply your nail polish right away give your nails enough time to absorb the lotion. I noticed the EXTREME change this step did in improving my nails. Whenever I went to the salon they never washed my nails thorough to get rid of all the acetone and just applied polish right on top causing my nails to get chemically damaged and turn yellow.*** I also don’t wear nail polish every week. I like to give my nails a break every month and skip color for one or two weeks so my nails can breath. On the days my nails are bare I notice they can get dry so a good hand cream is a must. Our nails are very porous so just like our hands they go through the day to day environmental battles that can take their toll in the long run. So on the days you don’t wear nail polish make sure to keep your nails and hand hydrated. I use Cerave. Personally it’s the best body lotion that doesn’t irritate my skin on the market. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin Next I know we all heard biotin is great for hair skin and nails but I would always always always break out. In my opinion it wasn’t worth the hassle of having bad skin just for my nails to grow quicker. That is until I discovered Neocell Biotin Bursts on amazon. They’re small chewy vitamins that taste like açaí berries packed with 10,000mcg of biotin. Now anything over 1,000 mcg of biotin broke me out and this guy does not! So if you always wanted to add biotin to your dietary intake but couldn’t because it broke you out I really recommend this product. I noticed my nails grow quicker and stronger since I started taking the vitamins. Another great vitamin that you can add to your diet is Omega 3 fatty acids. I read that it can aid in moisturizing the nails and helps combat dryness and brittleness. Okay and finally I left the less fun part for the very end...changing your bad habits. This includes biting your nails and picking at your cuticles. Using your nails as tools which includes picking and scraping at things. Having a bad diet and not drinking enough water. Exposing your hands to chemicals. All these can significantly make your nails weaken and brittle your nails. It may be a bit challenging at first but it’s worth it in the end!
