Accutane = complete!
I have finished my round of accutane and wanted to share with everyone! The bottom photos is what I look like after applying my skincare that I have below. My skin definitely loves it! I still have some scarring to deal with but I am no longer having any breakouts! My skincare routine: spectro - Jel Cleanser I absolutely love this cleanser. I used this while on Accutane and I did not have any problems with it so this will be my go to cleanser now. dermalogica - Multi-Active Toner I’ve been using this for about a month and my skin is loving this! I spray this on damp skin to really hydrate my skin. OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum I use this because this is really the only vitamin c serum I have used. If anyone has a recommendation let me know! dermalogica - Stress Positive Eye Lift MaskI haven’t rated this because I just started using this. Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion I’ve been using this for months and I actually love this! I also mix a few drops of The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil with it to lock everything in. I finished off with Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I actually love this sunscreen!
January 11, 2021 My skin was not the greatest. It overall got so bad and honestly I was eating so much junk food, drinking not a lot of water and skipping out on my skin routine because I was lazy. After 2 weeks my skin has just a few pimples but overall makes me feel confident. January 24, 2021 I stayed with my regular skin routine: CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion Avène - CLEANANCE SUNSCREEN SPF 50+ And just trusted the process and tried to not pick on them. I am super happy with how I’ve recently managed my skin and all I needed to do was stick to what i should do and continue doing that. > I drink 1500ml+ a day >Started to workout daily, even for just a few minutes > And felt more confident I have a hard time maintaining healthy skin but I will continue improving my diet, drinking more water and etc... I got so mad but I needed to love myself no matter what because, acne just makes you even more beautiful. I have learned to love myself and I’m happy with who I’ve become throughout this 2 week journey.
Micellar Cleansing Water
Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier is my #1 in completely removing all my makeup including sunscreen, eyeliner and mascara! What I love about this is that it does Not sting my face. I hate products that have any sort of alcohol/chemicals that irritate my skin. Micellar Water is perfect to use for getting rid of dirt/oil/makeup. 75% of that work gets done even before you start your cleansing, toning, moisturizing routine. I've always been a fan of this product and it works wonders for me. I have been breaking out less ever since I started using Micellar water. Therefore, I give this product my highest rating!
Current Products I'm Using
I have oil/combo skin and been struggling with hormonal acne for a few years now which is mainly around my chin. I have noticed some positive changes but also some negative ones, for example I have more blackheads in areas besides my nose which I never had before. Here are the products I've been using lately. AM Routine I don't cleanse in the morning just splash water on my face and pat dry, then I apply PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster after I apply moisturizer e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free then sunscreen Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract PM Routine During the day I don't wear much makeup just some mascara so I just use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water for my first cleanse, then I go in with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser which I am just about out of so I will be using CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanserwhich I haven't tried before but decided to buy it because of all the hype! Than I apply my toner and depending on my skin at the time I will either use PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner or I'm from - Rice Toner I have just recently purchased and starting using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then I moisturizer with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator twice a weeks and PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C 3 times a week. My skin is still breaking out so I'm gonna try eliminating certain products to see if I can pin point what is causing the breakouts and blackheads. I recently purchased a cleansing brush and I'm gonna start by eliminating the Paulas choice BHA Exfoliator and start using the brush 2 or 3 times a week instead. If that's not the problem then I'm gonna try taking out the Vitamin C. If anyone has any advice or tips I am all ears!!!

A little over 2 months results
I’ve been on 100mg /day of spiralactone. No side effects now. I think I had a bit of dizziness in the beginning but my blood pressure and potassium levels were always fine. I’ve stopped breaking out in cysts and very rarely a Pimple here and there . My face is healing now . I’m just dealing with all the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks now (PIH). I’ve also been using 0.025% clindamycin /clindamycin from apostrophe every night for the past 2 months also. I’ve just gotten 6%hydroquinone cream to add to my regimen . And so I’m hoping that will help out more so with the PIH Spirolactone and the tretinoin/clindamycin had done wonders for my hormonal acne !
Apostrophe Update! ❣️
Today is my 26th day using Apostrophe, and as you can see my face has calmed down quite a bit. I don’t have as many painful lumps and I have about 2 active pimples left on my face! My skin is starting to get a tad more used to the tretinoin because it hasn’t been peeling as much. I still have a long way before I hit 90 days, but I feel like I have made it over the purging hump (fingers crossed!) Check my earlier posts to see what I am using from Apostrophe! Thanks for reading! 💖 Apostrophe - Spironolactone Apostrophe - Doxycycline Apostrophe - Topical Formula

So far I am super happy with how my skin is looking! I started on January 6, and today is February 16. The end of my 90 days will be either at the end of March or at the beginning of April, so I’m about halfway there. The struggle for me right now is that my skin changes day to day. One day I will wake up with lots of cystic pimples, and one dat, like today, my skin will have none. I definitely still have dark marks, but I’m okay with that for now! As long as they aren’t active I am happy lol. I still seem to get acne flares on my period, which is discouraging considering Spironolactone is for hormonal acne. I’m just trying to trust the process🧐 I realized that I haven’t talked about my daily morning and night routine, so here it is! Morning: -cleanse with either PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser or CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser -moisturize with either PEACH & LILY - Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream or FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Minis Original & Cranberry Pomegranate -apply spf with Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 -my makeup routine At night: -remove makeup with DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil -cleanse with CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser -moisturize with FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Minis Original & Cranberry Pomegranate -apply a pea sized amount of .025% Tretinoin formula from Apostrophe - Topical Formula -and of course some Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant on my lips before bed!
Update with the Process...
I'm going to be totally honest😔 I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes. The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week. Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne. I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. 🤞 🌼Apostrophe - Topical Formula 🌼CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🌼CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🌼CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌼Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
my progress in the span of 3 years
This is my first post pls be gentle I am soff My experience and exposure to skincare was...odd growing up. I came from a poor family and was constantly switching between households. Consistent skincare routines did not exist for me, if we could afford it at all. I also had no idea what was going on with my face or why, just that I was being mocked and berated for it as though it was some sort of lack of hygeine or moral failing on my part. About 3 years ago, I started using a consistent skincare routine with more than just a face wash in the shower. Granted, it was whatever the cheapest face wash I could find at Safeway that week (likely biore or st. ives) and argan oil that I found at Marshall's. I had no idea what ingredients to look for or even what my skin type was. That first pic STILL marked a huge improvement for me and kicked off my desire to learn more to finally rectify this issue that had plagued me for more than a decade. The 2nd pic is from a few months ago. I kinda think I peaked there. I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser in the shower. I have oily, sensitive skin (thanks eczema) and it's very gentle, not irritating in the slightest. However, it feels like all it does is clean my face. No real benefit apart from that. I was using pixi - Glow Tonic as a toner which I loved and gave me great results but rent is literally over half my monthly income and that doesn't touch all the other bills I have and at anywhere from $18-$24 a bottle? Well... I'd rather eat tbh. I also got over the "oily skin don't need moisturize hurr durr" mentality and began to use (still do, this jar has lasted me since like July) AVALON ORGANICS - Intense Defense, With Vitamin C, Oil-Free Moisturizer . Works fine, nice and light, absorbs pretty quickly, and I like the smell. I'd like something that qualifies as a night mask instead tho, just because my entire routine is done exclusively at night with extra moisturizer or treatments as necessary. 3rd pic is from about a month ago. I've changed up the roster a few times. I'm really feeling FORMULA 10.0.6 - One Deep Attraction Daily Foaming Face Wash as I used it years ago, liked it then for the suds and the actives, but haven't gotten much in the way of results. I might try the FORMULA 10.0.6 - Three Times Sublime 3-in-1 Blackhead Wash + Scrub + Maskand FORMULA 10.0.6 - P.M. Perfectorinstead of the moisturizer I use as mentioned above. I'm also alternating between Cos De BAHA - BHA Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliant Liquid 4oz with Niacinamide Acne Spot Treatment + Redness Relief + Pore Minimizer + Pore Cleaner and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% . The serum makes my skin incredibly soft and the suspension helps a bunch with oil control. If y'all have any comments, questions, or suggestions regarding my routine, I'd love to hear what y'all have to say!
Check out my skin journey in only 2 weeks!
Back story: Back at the beginning of November I had been on curology for the second time and it made my face feel worse, the face wash didn’t make my face feel clean so I bought one they recommended (Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser ) I continued to use the formula they gave me and it was just not for me. November 26 I spoke to my doctor and told her what I was going through and she put me on Doxycycline which helped with stopping the bacteria from producing but I still had the blemishes I had. I was desperate by this time, I didn’t know what to believe from youtubers(most are paid or sponsored= no trust from me) nor anything posted online and I was not about to try a million product because I know it takes time. That is when I came across this site and I started reading some real life stories and what people like me were going through! I saw some products that these people were using and I decided to give it a shot! Thank you to the ladies who posted their story! Your transparency and selflessness has help me with my confidence and most importantly my skin! Xoxo Story time! As you can see on December 20th my skin was nothing but clogged and congested. My self esteem was at an all time low. I would purposely avoid hanging out with my friends, I hated how make up would look covering the acne, I was honestly just not in a good place. I started reading stories from people like me and they were using CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin and CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin so I decided to give it a shot! On December 26 I decided to go to Walgreens and pick it up. Christmas was the day before and I was tired of how I was feeling (I was shying away from the camera with my own family and thats just not me, I wanted to go back to feeling like my best self) I followed my skin regimen religiously! After my shower I would brush my teeth and then wash my face and apply some lotion. At night I would do the same thing! Fun fact: I like to change my pillow cases every two days-week. First thing I noticed after the face wash is how clean my face felt but it didn’t feel dried out or congested it actually felt like soft skin. Jan 3: A week after I started using the face wash and lotion I started to notice the congested parts of my face were coming out. Jan 6: Like they say it has to get worse before it gets better. I thought I was reacting badly to the products but I read a little more and purging is real! Jan 7: My skin started calming down a bit with the redness but what had to come out came out! If you are going through this process dont get discouraged keep your skin care routine consistent! Jan 10: still have some blemishes but you can see the softness glow! I posted the pictures I posted with the dates so you guys can see the process. We are sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly not just the pretty!
Sunny Days, Wear Your SPF! ☀️
Hi Everyone! It’s a hot and sunny day here in New York. Here’s you’re daily reminder to take care of your skin and make sure to put on your SPF! I use CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 and the more I use it the more I love it! It’s very light on my face compared to regular sunscreen and it keeps my skin feeling nice and soft. And the best part is I only need 2 pumps to cover my whole face! Also, here is my natural makeup look that I’ve been trying to perfect for the last 2 months. Later I’ll post my makeup products. Follow me for a possible tutorial? 😘 Enjoy the day and take care 😊💕

Drugstore Products That Work - Nubalance Lotion
Skin Relief Oatmeal Daily Moisturizing Lotion *Skin is normally dry and prone to eczema/KP Ok so last week of Cherie’s Picks. Let’s 👏🏼 Do 👏🏼 This 👏🏼 We’re starting off with some cheap drugstore products that you never expect to work but you’re there and you’re in a pinch so you buy it. This product is high up there in that category. In fact, I didn’t even technically buy this for myself. My grandpa noticed I had been getting rashes on my arms and they were super itchy because of my dry winter skin and whipped this out and told me I needed to use it. Gotta love gramps. They sell this at some local drugstores and even the dollar store - which is where gramps bought this one for a cool $2. So like point one because $2 for this whole bottle? A deal whether it works or not. The thing is though that it actually DOES work. It’s a cream lotion but it’s not super thick and almost even has a gel like texture to it. Like almost water based cream? I love it. It absorbs really well and leaves me moisturizer for DAYS without having to continuously reapply. It also claims to relieve skin of itch and cracks and I can support that it does. I’m not sure if it’s the oatmeal or another ingredient but it almost gives off a cooling effect when you apply it and any itches I have because my skin is so dry is immediately soothed. I needed something like this so badly because I was scratching my skin raw 😫 The tube is easy enough and pretty standard for a body lotion. I would of course prefer a pump but I won’t complain because again - $2. I know this doesn’t have the brand name and to be honest I haven’t really sat and read the ingredient list but I see good results and I’ll definitely finish the tube and could see myself repurchasing if I just needed a quick and cheap lotion to replace it!

Make up remover easy, cheap & fresh feelin!
I’ve tried many. Many. I LOVE these newer wipes they came out with. My face is so much softer than their regular kind. ALSO smells better. Cleaner smell for sure. I’ve used their orginal kind for YEARS but made the switch and ❤️. The second one I started maybe 3 weeks ago. I got the smaller bottle to try (target has the whole line) and I honestly love it. Definitely going to buy again. I wash the rest of my face with this, look below for details: ⬇️ 🚨TIPS & TRICKS: •Both are great to have because if I don’t have much face make up on I rip the wipe into two. So I have one for the next day (saves ya a little $ and your not wasting what your not really using) whatever is still clean on the wipe I’ll do a little of my face with the left over. •I wipe all eye makeup off with the wipe I have then apply the Bliss to the rest of my dry skin (it goes on dry skin) I feels weird @ first but seeing the make up come off from it you’ll be WOWED like me. •Skin feels SOO clean after these two and you don’t need a lot of product. *remember my first tip* ⬆️ •Two products to remove make up quick & clean for around $13! SCORE! 💖Follow me & I’ll follow you back😍
