Fourth Ray Serums!
If you’ve seen some of my other reviews you may already, I enjoy fragrances in products. I think they can make me want to use a product before I can see results. However, if you are not a fan of fragrances these are not the serums for you. I have been using these for about a month and have seen some pretty good results so far. I apply all three at once, one dropper full of Rainfall, and two drops of Avocado & Aloe and Radiant. Fourth Ray - Rainfall 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum
This is my least favorite of the three, I feel like a basic hyaluronic acid serum does not have to be that expensive. Instead I recommend the Ordinary’s 2% hyaluronic serum + B6 as it is almost a third of the price and adds B5.
I love the scent of this serum but it’s a bit much for such a basic formula.
It does a good job of bringing moisture to my skin but is a bit tackier than the Ordinary serum I recommended above.
I generally feel like I have to use a lot (too much) of this serum to cover my entire face each time.
I just don’t think this serum is worth it especially considering its price and ingredients.Fourth Ray - Avocado + Aloe Double Shot Face Serum
I would like to say that this serum does not smell like avocados or aloe, which is great because I do not particularly enjoy the smell of either. The scent instead is fresh, more generally plant like, but pleasant all together.
This is jam pack with phytonutrients which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
This serum feels nice on my skin and leaves it nice and nourished.
Biggest con of this serum is that the bottle gets super oily and can leave a mark on fabric or paper depending where you store it.Fourth Ray - Raydiate Vitamin C Elixir
This is by far my favorite serum of the three. I have seen a lot of improvement in the brightness of my skin since I started using it.
I have seen acne scars fade and developing acne scars going away before sticking
It smells like oranges and definitely has to be shaken well to be used properly.
I like the formula as it is not too oily and feels like a serum still.
Top ingredients are natural sources of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and turmeric (all of which have skin tone balancing benefits.
Biggest con of this serum is that the bottle gets super oily and can leave a mark on fabric or paper depending where you store it.I think for 0.5oz of each of these, $15 was definitely worth it. Give them a try and let me know what you think of them!
Minimal Night Time Skincare
Here is my very minimal college student night time routine! I put these on every night after I wash my face and tone. I listed the products in the order i apply them(: ✨ Fourth Ray Beauty Rainfall - This is a 2% hyaluronic acid serum. It has a nice light cucumber scent and applies nicely and not sticky. I highly recommend this product as I have used it for over two years. I love how easy it is to apply and even use it whenever my face feels slightly dry. ✨ Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - I use this lip sleeping mask every night and find it very nourishing. It helped my lips a lot especially now that it is colder. It has a lot of product so it is definitely worth the price. The only downside it that it is not easy to apply so it may not be as sanitary if you choose to take it outside of your house. ✨ Base Butter Radiate Face Jelly - I recently started to use this product. It is a gel moisturizer and plumps my skin. It also has a nice scent. However, the consistency is very strange for a gel moisturizer and has little white specks in the product. I may have had a bad batch that was not mixed well enough but will continue to use as it leaves my skin plump. ✨ Grande Lash Enhancing Serum - I LOOOVE THIS. Would rate over 5 stars if I could. It leaves my lashes suuuuper long and does not itch whatsoever. ✨ LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream - I have been using this retinol for almost two years now. I am mainly using this product to target acne rather than anti-aging. It contains very little retinol which is great for everyday use. I mainly apply this to trouble areas but can be applied to the whole face. ✨ Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment - I think it is a light consistency for an eye cream. It fits me very well as I am in my early 20s and do not need a very thick eye cream.
My affordable morning routine- with alternatives
Good Morning lovelies, So being a mom of a very busy toddler, I see these wonderful morning routines posted but 1. The products arnt affordable of 2. There are steps that are just impossible for me. Like using a facial mask it always falls off or my toddler picks at it. So here’s my easy morning routine with options of a switch up should it be needed. I start off washing my face with warm water to wash away my nighttime skincare. I then most my face with pixi - Vitamin Wakeup Mist .. I then add a dime full of Fourth Ray - Rainfall 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum this is like giving your skin a drink of water in the morning. I use Fourth Ray - Remedy 10% Niacinamide Serum twice a day it helps with the skin barrier and pores along with skin clarity and again it’s just a dime size. my last serum is#Fourth Ray - Cactus Serum[products]#[FiveStars] cactus is known to have vitamin A which speeds up healing, prevents breakouts, and supports the skins immunity. It gives your skin a healthy glow. (I’m going to do a separate post about this as it’s so beneficial for your skin!) Moving on I use #Fourth ray - Oat facemilk[products]#[FiveStars] it is amazing for helping lock in your serums there is no fragrance so it’s great for sensitive skins. For my moisturizer I have two, in the fall and winter I use Aveeno - Absolutely Ageless Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 however during the spring and summer I use VICHY - Idéal Soleil Sport - Ultra-Light Refreshing Lotion SPF 60 because the SPF is higher. Now there are two products that are a little high in the budget but they are worth it. Both of those moisturizers are non greasy and my makeup goes on great with them I don’t have any peeling. Now 2 - 3 times a week I use Fourth Ray - Reveal 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Serum and #Vichy - Neovadiol[products]#[FiveStars] And that is the end of my morning routine ! It’s actually very fast even though there are around 5 products used. And I’ve noticed since I started this my wrinkles are fading my skin looks clear and smooth and my pores are shrinking. Anyway have a great day!
Brightening serum + oil in one
The Fourth Ray - Raydiate Vitamin C Elixir is such a cool idea to me: as you can see, there are two layers to the product, and you gently shake the bottle to combine the serum and the oil together. This claims to enhance skin radiance, and while I’ve only used it a few times, I really love the mositurizing texture from the oil—I think this might also soothe potential mild irritation from the vitamin C. While there are many differences between the two products, the Biossance squalane + vitamin c oil has a similar idea (a moisturizing oil with the brightening properties of vitamin c), so if you’re turned off by the price point of the Biossance one, I suggest trying this one! It also has turmeric in it, which is a great anti-inflammatory, and hyaluronic acid, which is great for adding and retaining moisture.
MYTH BUSTED! MIX THESE INGREDIENTS OR NOT?
You know what zodiac sign you’re compatible with, but do you know what skincare ingredients in your routine are compatible? Vitamin c + Niacinamide To mix or to not? Hmm YES! Layer these bad boys up in your routine. (Obviously don’t go overboard, but yes apply these both) The beloved and most sought out for serums have an iffy relationship. You can mix these ingredients together, but there is some things out there that state you shouldn’t or that you should do so in caution. Here’s why! Let’s break it down and get to the point. * Vitamin C protects the skin from free radicals and works towards brightening dark spots, scars, and the overall skin tone. This is best used in the morning to protect from free radicals as we go through our day. ALWAYS wear SPF with Vitamin C! Vitamin C will increase sun sensitivity, so please further your protection with SPF. * Niacinamide is an anti-inflammatory that brightens and promotes a more even skin tone, improves skin elasticity and texture! It’s a Holly Grail tbh. On top of all of that it’s also great to fight free radicals damage and pollution. Using Vitamin C + Niacinamide together? Niacinamide is “said” to cancel out all of the good properties of Vitamin C! BUT there are plenty of studies that show there is NO HARM in using these together. These two serums together can be a powerhouse combo We love these ingredients and need to use them in our skin care! You still can! How to use vitamin c and Niacinamide in your routine: use one ingredient in the AM and one in the PM. Try applying Vitamin C in the am (with spf!) and Niacinamide at night. This way you’ll still get both ingredient’s FULL benefits, but without irritation for reactive or sensitive skin. space them out. You need to let each serum absorb into your skin and allow some time in between applying them and they should not be layered right on top of each other. * this is only if you really feel the need to apply both of them* The results: using these can help uneven skin tone, skin elasticity, texture, and dullness of the skin. So if you plan on using these ingredients together, check out my two favorite below and featured in my photo. Fourth Ray - Raydiate Vitamin C Elixir This version of vitamin c is a mix of a serum and a face oil, so you’ll have to shake it up to mix the two together. + this is light in consistency and absorbs nicely into the skin. + not tacky or sticky. + smells great + ACTUALLY WORKS. My favorite one yet! + lasts longer than most vitamin C serums (shelf life) + $16 GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum This GM serum is among the best and very affordable. + light weight and absorbs well into the skin + has a sticky texture, but is gone after it absorbs into the skin. + smooths our texture and brightens skin. + 10% Niacinamide + layers well with other serums and skincare. + $6
Definitely check this one out 💖
Azura Essence by Milasimone 😊 Because my skin is prone to hyperpigmentation and post-acne marks, vitamin C serum is always welcome in my routine. That's why I was really excited when I got this. Let's see how it worked for me! 👇 🍋 : Aqua, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerine, Phenoxyethanol, Aloe Vera, Papaya Fruit Extract, Pomegranate Fruit Extract. AND… That's it! Quite impressive, huh? Unfortunately, I don't know what's the percentage of Ascorbic Acid in this formulation. 🍋 Texture and application: It has very thin and light texture, fast absorbing and non-sticky. Fragrance-free. 🍋 Performance: My skin always reacts to Ascorbic Acid, so at first my skin got a bit irritated and some pimples popped up. However, it didn't discourage me as previously other serum with ascorbic acid (Klairs) caused this reaction as well. After some time my skin got used to it and it was okay. Same situation here. After around a week, my skin calmed down and the serum started to work as it should. My complexion was getting brighter, skin was glowing and plump after using it. I noticed it also helps with some of my hyperpigmentation marks (of course, not alone - I use acids too). I love it under make up, as it sinks in super quickly and doesn't leave any greasy/tacky feeling. 🍋 Bonus: crueltyfree and vegan 🐰🌱 Overall, I really enjoy this serum😍 The ingredients are just wonderful, short list and no unnecessary additions. That's what I like! If you're looking for a simple vitamin C serum with a clean ingredients list - definitely check this one out 💖
Best serum for micro-needling
One of the best serums I have used for the skin, it gives the skin its freshness .I bought this item for micro-needling at home because it is pure with simple ingredients and reasonable price . Great product ,absorbs quickly into the skin with light texture .Can use for AM &PM . It match well with make up on top.Special can use for oily skin. Give moisture inside the skin without any oily shiny. I always feel refreshing after every use.
Tia’m My Signature Vitamin C Serum
I have repurchased this vitamin C serum four times already because I absolutely love it! I’ve been using this vitamin c for the last two years and I have noticed how much better my scarring looks like now compared to before please see the last picture with the before and after pictures. I took those in the same lighting all with flash and with no makeup or any product on. I suffered from horrible acne three years ago due to my skin being dehydrated and compensating for it with oils also over exfoliating and harsh cleansers. When I finally learned how to take care of my skin I was introduced to this product to help with all the scarring that was left behind after medication and this has cleared the scars up beautifully. I still have some scarring but it’s much better than before and I don’t find myself complaining. It has a slight vitamin scent but no perfume scents. It applies nicely and absorbs well. It will feel kind of sticky after applying but if you let it sit for 15 before you apply your other skin care steps the stickiness goes away. I like to apply it with a jade skin roller as it helps the absorption. This hasn’t broken me out nor has it caused any skin irritation. I highly recommend this product if your looking for a different type of vitamin c product as this one also features vitamin b12 and glutathione and is affordable! I have read some reviews where people with medium tan skin or deeper have not found any changes to their hyperpigmentation so please do keep this in mind Tia’m is a K beauty brand and you can find it on Yesstyle for about 13 dollars
Some reviews about this vitamin brightening serum of jumiso. This serum is way better than the old version (which I have and stopped using it after using it for about 3-4 times) in terms of the packaging, consistency, formulation, smell and effectiveness. It does brightens complexion but not instantaneous and results may vary depending on your skin. As for me, I've seen improvements on my skin tone and acne marks. The uneven red patches on my skin for not wearing sunscreen were evened out. Some of you even noticed that my skin is glowing. This serum is probably one of the reasons. If you are planning to introduce a brightening serum on your skin care routine that is subtle, doesn't sting, no sticky feeling, no strong smell and you have sensitive skin this is the best choice. Best of all it's affordable 👍
the gorgeous bellflower Hibiscus Anti-Ageing Serum 🌺 This gorgeous serum packs a punch and has so many gorgeous and beneficial ingredients. It's lightweight, absorbs beautifully, layers well and keeps my skin glowing (yes, even through my current breakout). Packed with Hibiscus Sabdarffa Flower Extract 15,000 ppm, it's seriously rich in antioxidants, gently exfoliates, speeds cell turnover, evens skin tone and the high mucilage content of Hibiscus enhances the skin’s ability to retain moisture. It also contains Niacinamide 2% which is amazing for lightening dark spots/age spots, evening skin tone and it can help improve the skins protective barrier. Adenosine 0.04%, it helps protein synthesis and collagen synthesis in the dermis. Last but not least, 7 type complex peptide. Peptides deliver a specific message to neurotransmitters to induce collagen synthesis, signalling your body to manufacture more collagen. Thus, creating firmer, plump skin. (Acetyl hexapeptide-8, Copper tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl tripeptide-1, Hexapeptide-9, Nonapeptide-1) It also contains Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Acorus calamus root. I absolutely love a multitasking serum.
Idebenone is hidden in cosmetics under the name Hydroxydecyl Ubiquinone, it's a synthetic form of Coenzyme Q10 and an antioxidant. This ingredient is mostly used in case of free radicals damage/ageing but Bellflower used it in a brightening formula. This serum also contains Niacinamide, Propolis Extract and Adenosine - 3 ingredients which I really like because they help with acne, wounds healing and brightening. The serum has no smell, at least I can't smell it, the texture is a bit more liquid than average serum bt easy to apply, during the month I couldn't even hit 1/4 used formula - it's a product which you won't have to repurchase for 6 months or even more unfortunately for me I didn't see any brightening or spectacular skin changes, maybe I'm used to peptides and I expected miracles but none of the spots I had on my skin got brighter. It contains lots of natural extract and oils so I recommend you check the ingredients first, I feel like if you want a product for wrinkles then Idebenone serum might be a great idea, but brightening? I don't think so. I already started to use Heartleaf Houttynia Serum from the same brand and it's way better, I also heard that Azulene serum is amazing, I'm going to share this Idebenone serum with my friend hoping that maybe she'll see better results than I did since what works for you might not work on my skin and that's natural.
