3 Best Serums for Hydration, Protection and Brightness

A few years ago (more like 15!) I felt blessed to have such a good skin and didn’t use much skincare at all. Nowadays, I feel like my skin is dehydrated, dull and starting to show premature signs of aging. Well, maybe not premature, considering my age, but it would still be good to keep them off for a little while longer. So, I had to come up with a plan that deals with multiple issues. First, I wanted some brightness, because a youthful complexion always has that special natural glow. Then I needed hydration, and this doesn’t need any more explanation! And, then, I thought some antioxidant protection would be nice (and should help me prevent premature aging!). Here is my choice of products: For Hydration: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + b5 The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
The hyaluronic acid has a liquid consistency and is easy to apply, I use my fingers for this. At first, I was using more than a few drops and it took a few minutes to get it all into the skin. But skin massage is good for blood circulation, so no complains from me. The skin feels plumper after about a few weeks of regular use – I use it both mornings and evenings. The cost is fair, so I will keep buying it and recommending it to other people too. For Antioxidant Protection: The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%
This was a bit of a surprise in terms of how it feels when you apply it to the skin. It was my first time using these ingredients and I didn’t know how my skin will react. While I don’t usually develop allergies, I’m always paying attention when I use skincare products for the first time. This serum is a bit oily, but very fluid. The application is smooth, and it penetrates the skin quickly. It doesn’t leave behind an oily film on the skin, but it does trigger a tingling sensation and some heat. But no redness or irritation, so I guess the heat shows that it is just doing its job!   For More Brightness: The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%
Well, this one took me a while to decide to buy it. I wanted vitamin C to correct my dull complexion, but I feared the side effects of using a highly concentrated product. So, after many weeks of deliberation, I went for this vitamin C derivate, which has been absolutely great for my skin. I love it and will get it again; it has done magic with my pigmentation spots. When I apply it, I follow up with SPF cream if it is during the day.

Simple Look Friday
Hi Cherie! I hope you’re all having a great Friday!! my favorite look is a “natural” look. I love dewy looking skin, but I don’t like looking like I’m wearing so much makeup! My current go-to look has been quite simple! I wash my face with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin & then I use I'm from - Rice Toner Once that fully absorbs, I’ll lightly pat The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% over my skin. Finally, I’ll put ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream all over my face & neck. I LOVE this stuff. It hydrates & moisturizes without being too much & it smells amazing!! That’s it for my face. Then I’ll move on to my eyes. I’ll put trèStiQue - Conceal, Cover & Correct Crayon & then use MAYBELLINE - Hyper Easy Waterproof Liquid Liner In Pitch Black in the top corner of my eyes, I do this to highlight the mascara I’ll be adding next. Finally, after curling & brushing out my lashes, I will put MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Mascara Full Fan Effect on my top & bottom lashes. Finally, I will use WINKY LUX - Limited Edition Flower Balm on my lips. This goes on clear but then turns this pretty bright pink color! I love it because it always keeps my lips hydrated! & that’s it! My natural makeup routine! Thanks so much for reading & I hope you guys try out my look! Talk to you soon! 💖💋

🌟MOST REPURCHASED ORDINARY PRODUCTS🌟
The ordinary is definitely one of the hottest brands of 2020. They formulate single ingredient products that definitely work! In august 2020, I entered the skincare community, completely a newbie, didn’t know about ingredients, or what was good/bad for my skin. The ordinary was the first brand that I was introduced to, and the nicinamide & hyaluronic acid were the first two products that I ordered. The niacinamide works amazing. It does tend to be a bit sticky, and it does sting if I have any blemishes on my face that are exposed to air (aka I popped it, don’t tell my derm 🤐). If they made a 5%, I would be allll over it. Hyaluronic acid serum is amazing. Applies smoothly, absorbed quickly. Literally everything you want in a hyaluronic acid serum. The mask is great! I only use this mask in my t-zone when I feel like I’m producing more oil than normal. My cheeks are dry, so I dont use this mask on those areas. All in all, big fan of the ordinary, but moving forward I may dive into products with multiple benefits all in one product!

The ordinary haul
so I impulsively got a ton of stuff from the ordinary based on reviews and what several of their online employees have recommended. I gotta save, I've only work the hyaluronic acid for a day and it feels fantastic! I'll be updating in a month-6 weeks to give an accurate update, but I really gotta talk about the hyaluronic acid. I've tried them before and they were just sticky, and didn't feel great, this one is fantastic! my face felt so plush and soft! it was the first thing I tried and it is amazing! posting new results in a short while guys!

The ordinary
These are the ordinary products I use in my routine so far..... The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% I sometimes use this as extra antioxidant protection after my morning routine. I don’t notice that much of a difference with my skin but it can’t hurt and I like the texture and feel it leaves on my skin. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I use this every night after my night cream for extra moisture and to help with acne scarring. I’ve heard it helps so much with scarring. I’m also adding The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%to my routine soon to help with scarring and hyperpigmentation as well. I love the rosehip oil for extra moisture and my skin feels so smooth in the morning. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I use this twice a week and I’ve been faithfully using it for 3 months and I’m just now seeing a difference. I almost gave up but everyone has sworn by this so I thought it couldn’t hurt to stick with it. It tingles and I used to leave it on for the full 10 min and now with the extra acne products I’m using my skin is a little more sensitive so I leave it on for 5-6 minutes. Definitely wake up with baby smooth skin the next morning. I’m hoping to see results with my old acne scars too.

The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
The Ordinary rarely disappoints me because of its upfront ingredients and great price point! This moisturizer is no exception. I have combination skin so finding a good moisturizer is quite the challenge sometimes. I found this one to be very thick in consistency but a little does go a long way. It spreads quite easily but did take a few seconds to fully absorb into my skin. What I love most about this product is that is did not leave my skin feeling greasy after some time did pass, and it left my face feeling so soft! Love that! I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and good quality moisturizer :)

2 of The Ordinary products that are worth the hype
2 of The Ordinary products that are worth the hype
It was impossible for me to ignore the hype around The Ordinary products. I mean, when it comes to celebrities recommending luxury products on their social media, it doesn’t trigger anything in me as I tend to think it’s just advertising and nothing else. But when social media influencers from all over the world start recommending products that are like less than 10 euros, it is certainly worth a try! In my first order from The Ordinary, I’ve got Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA and Squalane Cleanser and I’m very pleased with them both!   Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA The reason why I wanted to try this moisturizer in the first place is the no-nonsense title and label. I mean I just want a moisturizer, why name it overly complicated? Just call it by its name! This one is rich in amino acids, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and fatty acids and keeps the skin hydrated without leaving behind a greasy film. I noticed the results immediately. The skin felt better, properly hydrated, plumper. This is a product that didn’t promise the moon, only moisturizing and did a great job delivering just this. It costs about 5 euros (30 ml) and if you ask me, it is totally worth the hype. Squalane Cleanser I used to be fully committed to my micellar water cleansing routine, but since the Squalane cleanser was a part of the daily set I ordered, I wanted to try. The indication is to rub a small amount of product between the palms of your hands and then massage into the skin of the face and rinse with plenty of water. At first, the cleanser has like a moisturizer texture, but when you start rubbing, it gets warm and turns into an oily lotion. Application is easy and the cleanser does a good job in removing makeup. Since I can’t give up on my micellar water, I am using the Squalane cleanser only in the evenings, to get rid of makeup and the micellar water in the mornings. Squalane cleanser leaves my skin soft and clean, no drying or oily sensation. I’d definitely recommend it to friends!

This is the last The Ordinary
This is the last The Ordinary post for now, I promise! 😂 I've been working my way through the skin care haul I posted a while back, and this is the only product I have mixed feelings about. This is the Azaelicacid 10% suspension, it's a medium consistency cream that's applied before moisturizer. 😊 Fun fact : Azelaic acid is naturally found in grains such as rye and barley, it can also be produced by a yeast that naturally lives on our skin, known as Malassezia furfur. Unlike glycolic and lactic acid which are alpha hydroxy acids, azelaic acid is a dicarboxylic acid. 🌱🌱🌱 Does it apply well🤔? This dries down very quickly so you have to be speedy while applying it. It leaves my skin feeling almost powdery and matte, it's similar to the effect a silicone based makeup primer gives.  Would I purchase again? No, I wouldn't. It didn't cause any issues for me and felt pleasant on the skin but I did not see any change in my skin tone. Azaelic acid is supposed to benefit redness and even skintone which sounded promising but I did not reap any of those benefits 😥 .

MOST DISAPPOINTING PRODUCT FOR ME
MOST DISAPPOINTING PRODUCT FOR ME
I absolutely adore the ordinary and this, along with their aha/bha serum, is one of their most hyped up products. Most people love The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and with the affordable price, I didn’t think twice before purchasing. The first time I used it, I broke out really bad. I couldn’t figure out what was breaking me out and I continued using this product because I didn’t think it was the culprit. After the third or fourth time of breaking out after using this, I looked through the many reviews and found that a lot of people were going through purging. I really wanted this to work for me so I continued using, even though I was sure I wasn’t purging as I was breaking out in places I have never broken out in before. After my skin only getting worse, I eventually decided to stop using, giving the product over to someone who’s skin really benefitted from it. After doing some research, I’ve come to the conclusion that the 1% zinc is what irritated my skin as I’ve used niacinamide before and it worked well for me. This experience taught me that everybody’s skin is different. What might work for me might not work for you. Always take in to consideration that the most popular and talked about products may not be for your skin and always do your research beforehand.

The Ordinary Buffet is a conce
The Ordinary Buffet is a concentrated serum with probiotics, 11-amino acids and multiple peptide complexes. This is a holy grail product for me and targets signs of aging and— at only $14.80 this gorgeous serum is a steal! It layers well and benefits can be seen overtime. I had to use this for about two months before realizing how amazing it was. The first bottle lasted me about a year! When it ran out I had a mini panic attack because The Ordinary was going through a few bumps in the road.

This product 100/10
This ordinary Niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% Is so amazing When I first started using this product I heard that people said that this works in like a week well not for me. I started to use it and I month later boom on my nose looked a lot cleaner and my face was glowin. But while I was using it I realized that it was pretty sticky but it didn’t bother me too much. Also I am young and my face isn’t that bad I just wanted my face to glow up before I go back to school. I really recommend it btw if you want help with your skin like knowing What Products to use or to know your skin type you should go watch skincarebyhyram on YouTube💗
