Best face sunscreen to prevent dark spots under $20

Each summer, I get an incredible amount of pigmentation spots, considering the fact that I very rarely go to the beach or spend time outside. But it looks like my skin is determined to get a tan and also lots of dark spots at the same time. Until now, I’ve always used a moisturizer with 15-20 SPF, but this year, I decided to take things to the next level and use a face sunscreen cream every day. I couldn’t decide what I’d like to try first, so I ordered both NUXE Sun Melting Cream High Protection for Face SPF 50 and Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants. NUXE is a bit more expensive compared to The Ordinary, but still a budget-friendly brand.  I’ve been using both products for over two weeks now, and I kinda love them both. Here is why:   NUXE Sun Melting Cream High Protection for Face SPF 50 The texture is heavenly, like royal jelly; it is an absolute pleasure to apply it. It spreads evenly, doesn’t leave a greasy or chalky film behind, and it smells divine too. Unlike most SPF 50 creams, this one has a more lightweight texture, melting as the name suggests. My skin feels hydrated immediately after application, and this is a big deal considering the fact it is an SPF 50 after all. I use this one in the mornings, instead of my regular moisturizer during weekends or when I plan to wear light or no makeup.    The Ordinary Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants  The Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants
This sunscreen from The Ordinary was a bit of a shock to apply. It is darker in color compared to NUXE, and the texture completely different. This sunscreen is like a thick paste, not as easy to apply as NUXE. However, this is normal for mineral filters’ sunscreen. Once applied, I noticed that I instantly looked like Snow White! I don’t mean just a brighter, whiter complexion, but also very even in terms of texture and color of the skin. So, if you are struggling with uneven skin, this is definitely a must-have. The skin feels a bit dry after application, but for somebody with combination skin like me, this is just an added benefit. And what I’ve noticed is that you don’t need foundation or concealer if you are wearing this. So, this is the sunscreen cream I’m applying in the mornings when I want to wear more makeup, I have formal meetings, or I just want to have the perfect complexion.

Christmas Eve Look 🎄✨🎅🏻
Hi guys! 👋🏻 I hope you’re all having a great holiday season! This time of year is my absolute favorite! For my Christmas Eve look, I kept it pretty simple. After doing my usual skincare routine, I used The Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants I love this stuff so much because it really neutralizes my skin tone & hides a lot of the natural redness I have in my face. Then I use trèStiQue - Conceal, Cover & Correct Crayon to go over my eyelids before using the Lasplash Cosmetics Zodiac Eyeshadow Palette ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I mostly used the colors Selenite, Sunstone, & Rose Quartz. After that, I gently highlight the corner of my upper lash line with MAYBELLINE - Hyper Easy Waterproof Liquid Liner In Pitch Black After that, I curl my lashes & go over them twice with ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Lash Brag Volumizing Mascara (this mascara is my all time favorite, it’s so delicate with each lash & doesn’t clump at all) Next I go over my brows with benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel Then I lightly go over my whole face with ciaté - Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder this stuff works so well with the spf, it makes my skin look like porcelain! & after that, I lightly highlight the tip of my nose & cheek bones with KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Metal Crush Liquid Highlighter Finally I used ARROW - ARROW Boost Color Enhancing Lip Balm - Blush Hour this gives me such a nice light pink look which is my absolute favorite!! For my hair, I actually slept overnight with a twisted sleep bun & when I took it out it left the loose curls I have in the photo. Then I just pinned back the front of my hair with bobby pins & I’m done! I hope you guys enjoyed my Christmas Eve look & I hope you all have a great holiday! 💋💖👋🏻 @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

The Ordinary VS. NIOD, Guess Who Wins?👑
The Ordinary VS. NIOD, Guess Who Wins?👑
NIOD is DECIEM's most high-end skincare line. Everyone should have heared about DECIEM's The Ordianry, which revolutionized the industry with generous ingredient lists and unbelievable cheap prices. NIOD is an even better and more effective skincare line compared with The Ordinary. I have dry skin that is sensitive to UV and chemical sunscreen, so I always use physical or mineral sunscreens. NIOD - Survival 30-$25.00 for 30ml It feels great to use👏It has a soft, lightweight and gray-white liquid texture. It makes your face look oily when first applied, but soon becomes natural after it's absorbed. It settles on the skin fast, and it improves skin tone and minimizes the appearance of pores. I will not use a foundation if I'm wearing sunscreen. In addition to providing UV resistance, it also fights pollution, blue light, and other environmental and lifestyle-related assaults. Besides, it also has an anti-oxidant effect on the skin. No makeup pigments are used in this product to correct skin tone and texture, so I use this as a makeup base and I won't use a makeup remover to remove my makeup alone to prevent secondary damage to the skin. ButThe Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 15 with Antioxidants- $10.95 for 50ml It leaves a white-gray layer on your skin. It's also sticky, greasy, and difficult to wash off.😭😭😭 It really took way too long to melt into my skin. Not good at blending and it left a weird blueish tint on my face. And it balls up when I add foundation to my sunscreen. Good price but I would rather pay a little more for one that doesn’t have a weird colour to it and have a better smell. I totally recommend NIOD if your budget allows.👍 Have you tried these two brands before? Let me know 🥰

Sunday Lazy Skin Care – Vitamin C+SPF 50
Sunday Lazy Skin Care – Vitamin C+SPF 50
Look, I’m not proud of it, but over the weekends I find it hard (read: impossible!) to keep up my normal skincare routine. For some strange reason that eludes me, I can keep it up with cleansing, serums, moisturizer morning and evening, every day, Mon-Fri, but when Saturday hits me, it’s like I just can’t do it! Of course, I still cleanse my face twice a day, but this is just like brushing my face. But for the rest of serums, treatments, moisturizers – hell, no! It’s lazy Sunday skin care, which started out as a big no-skin-care-day, but that was until I discovered that going out in the sun without any protection is just bad. How did I discover this? Funny you should ask. I went for Sunday brunch with my best friend, ended up at a terrace downtown … fast forward five hours, we were in the park and my nose was already read and felt tight. I looked like a sunburnt Rudolph, which is so not lady like! This is when I turned no-skin-care-Sundays into vit C+ spf- skin-care-Sundays! So, what do I do is pretty simple, I apply some vitamin C the moment I wake up in the morning on clean skin. I prefer The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% because the texture is very light, absorbs easily into the skin and I had no problems with allergic reactions (vitamin C can do this to you!). After I apply the vitamin C that is meant to protect my skin throughout the day, I add another layer of protection – NUXE Sun Melting Cream SPF 50. I mean, what’s the point in fooling around with spf 15, 20, whatever. Just go for the top! This is my motto! But there are more reasons why I learnt to love NUXE Sun Melting Cream – the texture is so rich and creamy, it feels amazing when you apply it. More than this, it doesn’t smell like sunscreen, but like an expensive moisturizing, which is something I like. Vit C with spf moisturizer is simple, is efficient and you won’t get burnt! I strongly recommend the combination!

How do I Best protect my skin from UV damage?
How do I Best protect my skin from UV damage?
Okay, so we know that UV rays from the sun can damage and age our skin, so what do we do? We wear SPF! This one from Skinceuticals is my new favourite. It’s incredibly lightweight, non greasy, finishes without a white cast and has ample amount of mineral (better for the skin and environment) coverage. So we need to wear this everyday. Yes, even when it’s cloudy, or raining or wintertime! That sun will still get ya and you’ll get wrinkles and age spots. We know to wear SPF everyday now. So how can we improve this protection even more? In comes VITAMIN C!! This vitamin when used topically is a power antioxidant that fights off oxidative stress and damage from free radicals. It also brightens, lightens and tightens, so it’s a superstar. Basically these together work to protect your skin from the sun because of their ability to fight those free radicals and UV says from our most loved and hated sun. The C E Ferulic serum from Skinceuticals is the golden serum since it’s effectiveness is unlike any other. It’s L Ascorbic acid, vitamin e and ferulic acid which are all antioxidants to fight against aging and dull akin. This serum stinks, but it works so beautifully and has a cult status for a reason. Currently my main concern is that I have hyperpigmentation from post acne, so protecting my skin from further damage is ESSENTIAL!! I have dry skin too so I need to be careful i don’t dry it out, but these two work really well with my other hydrating products. SPF and vitamin c can fit into any morning routine easily. Luckily I discovered Skinceuticals after I received the best PR package from them and now I’m hooked!! I have been using the hydrating B5 serum SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel too to really make sure I don’t dry out. Stay young friends ✌🏻

The ordinary vitamin C Honest review
The ordinary vitamin C Honest review
Vitamin C 23% + HA Spheres 2% 5.80$ CAD & USD Texture: Comes out the tube as a cream but as you rub it it becomes like a balm. It has a grainy textures. Claims: “Brightens the skin tone and reduces the appearance of signs of aging” - deciem’s website Why did I get this product? I got this product because I’ve read about all the benefits that vitamin C offers, since I’m dealing with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation I decided to get it. My experience with this product: Let’s go back to what I said about the texture it feels grainy whenever I use it I feel like I’m scratching my face and tearing my skin. When you rub it on skin it turns into a balm and it made my skin so greasy. I didn’t not like the packaging whatsoever I feel like whenever I try to get some product out of the tube so much comes out. If you have sensitive skin this is not for you since the vitamin C is at such a pourcentage it might burn your skin. I didn’t notice any difference within my skin while using this product. While using this product my skin reacted badly to it and started breaking out and now I’m dealing with the dark spots that those breakouts left. My overall opinion. As much as I love the ordinary this was one of the product that I personally did not like using and will probably not repurchase ever again. Follow @skincarewithshely on Instagram for more reviews.

Hyperpigmentation is frustrating, but it has a cure.
Hyperpigmentation is frustrating, but it has a cure.
I have been constantly frustrated by my hyperpigmentation because it cannot even be covered by thick concealers. To deal with it, I have tried many products which can be separated into two categories. The first one is sun cream, which can protect the skin from the damage of ultraviolet rays. The function of this is to anti-oxidize. The second is products that relieve pigmentation and make your skin recover from the result of melanin accumulation. The ISDIN Fotoprotector Fusion Water has SPF 50. It is fluid, lightweight, oil-free with intensive protection from the sun. This is an excellent product for preventing the accumulation of more melanin, which can dramatically promote pigmentation. I’ve been using this sun cream for two years, and fewer wrinkles caused by sun occur. So I guess it can also prevent the production of melanin. This is definitely an excellent product to fight against hyperpigmentation. For recovery, I find the Sesderma Azelac Ru effective in relieving pigmentation. The texture is liposomal, but it does not feel oily at all. Of all its ingredients, four are all of the anti-oxidant function, which includes BHT and BHA. It helps the skin to peel off. And I feel regenerated after using it. I have emptied three bottles and it does slow the pace of pigmentation. Another product that has a similar function as Sesderma serum is very ordinary for me. It is also liposomal, containing 20% vitamin complex. First of all, I break out occasionally after using it. Secondly, it is not as amazing as I think. It needs to be used within one day, so too much application of it will betray my original intention of fighting against hyperpigmentation. So it is not recommended for curing hyperpigmentation.
