Dupe for Balm dotcom 🚨
This is $1.99 at Target and I’m obsessed. It’s just as good as any overpriced “lip mask” (*cough* Laneige 🙃) at Sephora, and very similar to Glossier. - Balm Dotcom If you didn’t know, Glossier Balm dotcom is mostly petroleum jelly and fragrance and retails for $12. Vaseline is petroleum jelly. Save you some coin and try this Vaseline - Lip Therapy Rosy Lip Balm 💋
Finding a cleansing balm, pt 3
OK FINALLY!!!!! I recently wrote about my go-to cleansing oil for years innisfree - Green Tea Hydrating Cleansing Oil And my recent (BAD) experience with GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm In short, love the Innisfree oil but wanted a cleansing balm bc it’s more travel-friendly. I was honesty really jaded after the Glow Recipe balm bc I thought maybe all balms would leave a bad residue. 😫 But I picked up the BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original from Ulta to give one last go at a cleansing balm. And finally, SUCCESS!!! It removed my makeup AND emulsified well. That’s literally all I wanted. 😊 All in all, happy I’m finally found something that works for me and I found a balm that works. I definitely recommend. Will continue to use my Innisfree oil but use the Banila balm for traveling. Woohoo!! 🥳

Holy grail cleansing oil
I recently wrote about my awful experience with GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm and wanted to write a quick review on the product I’ve leaned on for years. innisfree - Green Tea Hydrating Cleansing Oil 🌟HOW I FOUND IT: I first started diving into skincare when I moved to Japan, and one of the first things I learned about was double cleansing with an oil cleanser. This is the first one I learned about and I ordered it on a whim. 🌟the experience: I typically can remove a full face of makeup with one pump, but occasionally I’ll use 2 just to be extra. This dissolves my makeup instantly, and when I feel satisfied it’s been removed, this emulsifies nicely and comes off with just a few splashes of water. I’ll continue to repurchase this, but I was hoping to find a balm to be more travel-friendly. I suppose that search will have to continue. 😞

Why I immediately sent this product back... 💔
💔I wanted so badly for this to end in a love story.💔 I have used Innisfree’s cleansing oil for years🏅, but wanted to try a balm for the sake of it being more portable🚗, plus I’ve been following Glow Recipe on social media and love their branding and packaging.⭐️ I loved the idea of fruit enzymes in a cleansing balm, and decided to buy my first Glow Recipe product!! 🙌🏻 Yesterday my package arrived and I used it that evening to remove my makeup. First impression, it smells sooo lovely! 🌸 It did an OK job at removing my makeup, but not as quickly or as effortlessly as I’m used to with my Innisfree cleansing oil. When I was satisfied my makeup was removed, I went to wash it all off with water— THIS is when it went from “meh” 😕 to horrified😧. It started to turn into like a thick sticky wax, and I couldn’t get it off for the life of me. Again, NEVER had this issue w my regular oil cleanser. I ended up using my FINGERNAILS to scrape off the product in solid gummy chunks, and I had to be a lot more vigorous on my skin with my 2nd cleanse. 😰 THEN LATER as I was brushing my teeth, I noticed more stringy gummy chunks stuck in my hairline, that I still haven’t been able to get out. **to give the benefit of the doubt, I used this a 2nd time and still same experience. I immediately went back to start the return to Sephora for this. So disappointed in this one, and a lot of Sephora reviews say this is a common issue, that it leaves behind a THICK wax that is difficult to remove. I do not recommend this product. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

NEW (to me) BRAND REVIEW: Versed
I picked up these 2 products from Target bc I’d heard about Versed and was only missing these 2 things in my routine. I won’t lie, I didn’t get my hopes up for either. I will say, I love the branding and packaging for these. The names are so cute, similar to how I think Glossier does a great job naming products. Baby cheeks hydrating milk: I use this as a toner step, after cleansing and again after exfoliating. I really like it because if I don’t like to use exfoliating toners because I have dry skin. The texture is beautiful. I don’t think it’s a must have, but for me I want to have that hydrating toner step in between steps so I love it! Not sure I’d repurchase because I’d like to try some K Beauty soothing and hydrating toners, but this was nice to be able to pick up in my neighborhood and bring home right away. Stroke of Brilliance serum: I underestimated this puppy! It’s thick and viscous and I think truly has made a difference in a brighter appearance and taking away my usual dullness. It’s a thick product but sinks in nicely and smells like licorice. I also didn’t know about licorice root before I bought this, but now it’s one of my favorite ingredients! I’d definitely repurchase this. What are your thoughts on Versed products?
LOVE Cloud Paint, can’t find a dupe
I typically try to find drugstore makeup unless I fall in love with a more expensive product. I LOOOOVEEE cloud paint so much and I have Storm and Dusk and have seriously considered buying all the shades! 2nd pic is my current LinkedIn picture, I always joke I credit Glossier Cloud paint for my look that day 😂 For me, Storm can be a bit dark so I save it for when I want to look more rosy or dress up a bit. Dusk is perfect for a more natural look because on me it’s almost light brownish/tan (but not on all skin tones). I’m currently torn between trying drugstore dupes or getting more from Glossier 🤪 Any drugstore recs out there?!

This Is The Cutest Product I have Seen, But Is It Worth Buying?
Korean beauty products have been globally on the rise for the past decade and Holika Holika is one of the brands that have become popular overseas, especially in the United States by selling their products in big retail stores such as Ulta, offering alternative ingredients that are not that common in the products we are usually used to. One thing I’ve always liked about Korean skin care products is their packaging, it’s always really cute and unique. So, it wasn’t a surprise when Holika Holika released a skincare and makeup collection of the popular Sanrio character Gudetama, which has also become incredibly popular in the last year. Gudetama is the character of an egg that is always feeling lazy and sleepy so it can be relatable to a lot of people. The collection includes cleansers, serums, peeling gels, blushers, etc. Today I will talk particularly about 2 products and review them. Lazy & Easy Gudetama All Kill Cleanser Oil to Foam I personally got interested in this product because of its 2 in 1 benefit. Its oil form helps remove even waterproof makeup without being too aggressive on the skin leaving it soft, and after massaging it the oil transforms into foam that will help remove ever further impurities. I like using it in the shower after a long day of wearing makeup. It leaves my skin softly moisturized and with a clean feeling. Not to mention the easy pump dispenser it has, and that you don’t really need much product to do its job. You can find it on Amazon for around $20. Lazy & Easy All In One Master This is my current go to moisturizer and just like the previous product it’s also multifunctional, although this one has 3 functions and not just 2, which is even better! It works as a moisturizing gel, as a toner and as an essence that will give you a healthy and luminous glow throughout the day. Some of its ingredients are: Bergamot, lavender, lemon, orange, geranium and chamomile, which are great to fight any sort of inflammation. Whenever I put it on and have any sort of irritation, I feel relieved and it feels like it cools it down, not to mention my skin feels revitalized and super soft. You can find ir on Amazon for around $27. Final thoughts When this collection was released people were really hyped about it because of how cute it was, and you can’t really blame them. I love cute stuff and honestly the design of the packaging influences whether I buy something or not, so I couldn’t pass on this one. I’m happy I did it because I love it! I still want to try the rest of the collection and hopefully they will be just as good as these two products, so if you are into cute stuff like I am make sure to try these ones!
Guess Which One Is The Game Changing Niacinamide Serum?😆😆
Every one talks about Niacinamide these days. I bought two hyped Niacinamide products, just to see which one is better. They are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Hylamide - Pore Control which also contains 10% niacinamide. Both of these products are from the same company. As for price, both of te 2 products are quite affordable. TO-$5.90 for 30ml Hylamide-$14 for 30ml Effects: The Ordinary Niacinamide focuses on minimizing the appearance of pores and oil control (it's especially suitable for oily skin), while Hylamide Pore Control focuses more on minimizing the appearance of pores and moisturizing (for dry skin). I almost finished them in just two to three weeks. Experience: Niacinamide irritates a little but it's tolerable, and it doesn't cause allergies or skin reactions. Hylamide Pore Control feels better and does a much better job at moisturizing and minimizing the appearance of pores compared with The Ordinary Niacinamide. I will definitely repurchase Hylamide Pore Control. I have dry skin, so the oil control effect of The Ordinary Niacinamide is not really useful for me. I prefer Hylamide Pore Control. Hylamide is originally a higher grade product compared with The Ordinary series of products. If you're after a better result and feeling, you can try buying the Hylamide or NIOD series of products, but if price is your main concern, try The Ordinary. I hope this is helpful, if you have any question, let me know🙂🙂

The $6 Brow Gel That Beats The $24 One👋👋👋👋👋
I LOVE a good brow gel. It’s one of the products I can’t live without. A little brush through the brows helps to fluff ‘em up and add a little volume and color. I must admit, my natural/bare brows are decent and don’t look nonexistent without brow gel but it just makes me feel better knowing I have some product in my brows, you know? Well here is what I have learned about brow gels: You do NOT need to pay more than $7 for a good brow gel It’s good to have both a clear AND a tinted brow gel The waxier the formula, the fluffier the brow benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel This is the classic tinted brow gel with fibers. It’s good. It makes my brows look fluffy, volumized and defined. But it’s $24 for 3g of product. COLOURPOP - Brow Boss Gel This brow gel is an exact dupe Gimme Brow and for Glossier’s Boy Brow (trust me I’ve tried ‘em all). The formula is just as lightweight, waxy and pigmented as the others. And it’s only $7 for 3.1g of product!!! I’ve tried the clear shades, the tinted shades and honestly cannot tell a difference. Colourpop Brow Boss Gel is amazing! Try it- it won’t hurt your wallet!

My holy grail Niacinamide treatment!
Niacinamide: a powerhouse ingredient we all want in our routine, but find confusion about. It can be irritating when used improperly, and some people may not see fantastic results even when using a Niacinamide serum. Enter the Peter Thomqs Roth Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment. A powerful 15% active brightening complex in a lightweight and moisturizing cream. Niacinamide is the second ingredient after water, and it truly shows in its ability to calm down redness, even out skin tone and heal acne scars (of which I have many from years of hormonal acne). Tranexamic acid fades dark spots and post blemish scars, and Kojic acid brightens the complexion. There is also resveratrol, a grape derived antioxidant that is fantastic for anti-aging and protecting the skin from future damage. There is also alpha arbutin, another fantastic brightener, and pentapeptide to strengthen the skin barrier. This treatment is very effective that you do see results quite quickly. The biggest effect is that redness and inflammation is calmed down and you’ll wake up with a more even tone. The first time I used this I actually almost cried. I have had blotchy red inflammatory acne for a long time and this helps me look normal. I use this at night after my Differin gel (my skin can tolerate this, but for beginners please limit your actives). This treatment, although it is $88, is very worth it. Compared to The Ordinary Niacinamide serum, this leaves the skin feeling comfortable, supple and not tacky/sticky like the serum. The formula is full of beneficial ingredients. Now, here comes the cons.... sigh Unfortunately, Peter Thomas Roth is not cruelty free. I strive to buy cruelty free and vegan products. 99% of my skincare collection is cruelty free and vegan. But as someone who suffers terribly from acne scars and needs something that will have fast results, I am okay with using this. But this will be something that vegans/ethically conscious people with grapple with when deciding to buy this product. From my perspective, this is worth it and I pray someday they stop testing on animals or another brand creates a cruelty free/vegan option just as good as this. So there’s my unbiased review. I purchased mine with my own money and I got an extra one in my Sephora Gratis that I will gladly use up. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment

Best Sleeping Mask
If there’s one thing your routine needs, it’s this sleeping mask by Laneige!!! While I don’t have redness or acne prone skin, I have really dry, dull skin. When I am stressed or having one of those weeks, my skin tends to look very tired & worn out. This mask helps strengthens the skins barrier for a more healthier & less stressed look + feel. It also helps soothe redness. It is recommended to use once or twice a week because it is made with fermented forest yeast extract. I recommend this product. At least get a sample & see how you like it 😊

Clean Skincare Routine with Bliss🍊
I’ve been using this skincare combo over the course of a few weeks and I must say it works quite well on my sensitive skin. Here’s a breakdown of the products shown above: Products used: bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser $13 - This is a gentle foaming cleanser for sensitive skin and didn’t irritate my skin whatsoever. No stinging or excessive dryness afterwards. bliss - Pumpkin Powerhouse Resurfacing & Exfoliating Enzyme Mask $15 - This mask is infused with a 10% skin smoothing pumpkin blend of natural AHA’s which gently exfoliated my skin. The pumpkin smell is pretty pungent but my skin was so smooth after I rinsed this bad boy off. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum $27 - it’s safe to say anything with vitamin C becomes my bff. Over the course of two weeks my skin began to look brighter but most importantly my dark spots slowly began to fade. bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer $21 - This is a gentle moisture cream that applied thick but melted into my skin as I began to rub it in. Very suitable for sensitive skin. bliss - Lemon & Sage Body Butter $5 - I gave this body butter a 3 mainly because of the added in fragrance. It does smell amazing but I have eczema prone skin and I am always skeptical to putting fragrances on my body. Overall, the vitamin C serum is definitely my fav since it helps combat these stubborn dark marks and the gentle moisture cream is a close second. This skincare combo has had me feeling refreshed all throughout my zoom meetings😌
