THOUGHTS ON OLEHENRIKSEN BANANA BRIGHT EYE CRÈME
#OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème[products]#[FiveStars] I’ve been using this eye cream for 5 months. Here are my thoughts: OVERALL OPINION: I have dark shadows underneath my eyes & have accepted that those are genetic and probably aren’t going anywhere. The color/shade of my under eyes stays the same no matter what product or treatment I use. However the brightness of the area can be improved from various products [for me at least]. This eye cream does reduce the dullness and dryness under my eye area when I apply it. I also have slight folds/fine lines in that area, and while this product didn’t do anything for me in that department, the brightness it gives makes them less prominent. SCIENCE: the creme is made with pigments that are meant to mimic banana powder, which is known for its pale yellow tint to color correct dark areas. It also contains vitamin C, which aids in boosting collagen production. This is important especially because the body does not naturally produce vitamin C for itself, so if you are not already consuming foods high in vitamin C, then your skin will not be in the most supple/firm state. The under eyes can become much drier than the rest of the face, so it is important to maintain their moisture from the inside out. VALUE: This product is $39 at Sephora, which is standard for a good quality eye cream. I previously used Kiehl’s avocado eye cream and definitely noticed the difference in quality of both products. The Ole Henriksen creme is so much more hydrating & I notice it lasts a lot longer. It also holds makeup in place, esp concealer compared to other eye creams I’ve used. I’ve been using it for 5 months and I’m only halfway done with the pot. I’ll probably try a different eye cream once this one’s done just to experiment, but this is something I’ll definitely go back to in the future.
Banana Powder Application A Day Keeps The Eye Wrinkles At Bay
Ingredient: Banana and Vitamin C Product: #OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème[products]#[FiveStars] Are you one of the people who used the Ben Nye Banana Powder that was so popular some time in the early 2000s? I was one of them, and I was really into it that time. So when I came across this banana eye cream on Instagram, it reminded me of the 2000 iconic banana powder that has a brightening effect. I thought to myself, maybe the banana fruit has indeed a brightening effect on the skin. Apart from banana, this product is also packed with Vitamin C. It’s the queen of brightening ingredients. It is known to help ease out discoloration, even out skin tone, and treat hyperpigmentation. It’s no wonder that skincare products that are specifically targeted to eliminating pigmentation contain Vitamin C. My skin type is dry combination and thankfully, I don’t suffer from eye wrinkles yet. But you know what they say about prevention being the best cure, so I can’t just wait for my wrinkles to arrive; I need to prevent them from surfacing. This product is pretty new to my routine; I just bought it about 2 weeks ago but wow, this product does an amazing job so it will stay on my shelf. I suffer from pretty dark under eye circles, but in the first week of using it regularly, I noticed a difference already in the tone of my under eye area. It appeared to be brighter thus, I look more awake and not tired. I love that it feels creamy but it doesn’t cake up so it’s a good makeup base too. Will definitely continue using this.
Conceal Cover & Conquer 🧚🏽♂️
So before I start I want to say I only use these concealers under my eyes , T-zone, & chin. I also have oily skin & dryness prone under eyes. L👉🏽R 🧚🏽♂️L.A. Girl - La.Girl HD Pro.Conceal this was my HG product at one point and time. I’m not sure if they changed the ingredients. They raised the price but since then I haven’t gotten them same coverage as I once did before. I find myself having to wait for it to “dry down” which is letting the concealer set for a little bit to get a thicker consistency. The only good thing about this concealer is it comes in a lot of shades and is reasonable ranging from $2.99 (Ulta) to $8.99 (local hair store). Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer this is my current holy grail concealer as I get maximum coverage with minimum usage. It comes in a variety of shade and is so silky when applying. I don’t have to let this dry down (but sometimes I still do from habit). It covers my dark circles under my eyes and leaves me with a beautiful highlight! It’s $29 which is kinda steep for a concealer but ITS WORTH IT ! I buy one of these and it last me for about a year (depending on the amount of days I wear makeup). tarte - Shape Tape Concealer okay so I bought this in a super highlight shade to go over my other concealer. I only use this when I want a popping highlight and nothing else. I kinda got stuck in the hype when I got this and I regret it because when I tried to use it a solo highlighting shade I hated it. It’s nice when it goes on but I find myself having to use a brush (which I only like to use for my foundation & setting powder) & it sucked trying to use my damp beauty blender. Consider I have dark under eye circles and I need something FULL coverage and concealing. It’s usually $27 but I got mines for $13 on Ulta during a sale (which makes me not as mad I bought it). e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer omg when I tell you I was shook that this concealer was soooo good ! So I bought this shade in my exact skin tone (but slightly redder) to concealer my dark circles and other dark marks that may pop up on my face & it does the job. I love that it has that red correcting color because red cancels out purple/dark blue hues. I can conceal my dark circles alone with this product and usually opt for this for minimum makeup days. I got mine at $6 at Walmart. L.A. Girl - La.Girl HD Pro.Conceal I use this red concealer as a color corrector when I have bad dark circles. Like I mean like the no sleep I look dead kinda. I love that it’s like the highlight shade I have but it kinda thin now as well.

Priming Duo to the Rescue!
So I typically one to lean towards clean products but I haven’t found a good clean primer that doesn’t break my wallet, just yet! 🧐 I got a sample of each of these and I thought I’d compare them on my wrist! • GOOD MOLECULES - Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer Good Molecules priming moisturizer is one that has like a cream texture! It seems to blend well and doesn’t make crease my makeup or make it feel cakey! And I like the key ingredients! It’s formulated with macadamia seed oil, shea butter, and a naturally derived silicone alternative, this lightweight daily moisturizer works to strengthen, condition, and protect skin from environmental stress! This is actually pretty darn close to “clean”. It’s claims to be silicone, PEG, alcohol, fragrance, and mineral-oil free! *(however, does contain Cetearyl Alcohol) • benefit - The POREfessional Face Primer I LOVE the way this one feels! It’s a thin, tan texture than blends heavenly. I really feel like you can literally see how smooth my face is after applying. It does have *fragrance (which, no telling what the ingredients could be) Also—if you’re skin is irritated or dry, be careful! It might make your face peel 🙄 I think that it blends & helps my pores better due to an oil-free formula that compliments each person’s skin tone. I also like that it has a Vitamin E derivative, which is known to protect skin from free radicals • Overall; I like them both! I think that I might rotate between them, too. I might try using Benefit Porefessional just around the pore area and my forehead. And then Good Molecules for my cheeks and my chin! Both are great products 💛

Au Revoir Blackheads. You’re not welcome here!
Let’s talk about one my biggest love affairs with skincare, The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. Safe to say....a cult favorite. It is an all natural powder clay, made of 100% calcium bentonite; Which is a type of dry, absorbent clay that forms from old volcanic ash. Bentonite clay has been found to remove bodily toxins upon application by absorbing them. Its a vacuum cleaner for things like dirt and oil and hardens on your skin upon a few mins of application. It’s marketed as the worlds most powerful facial with the purpose of deep cleaning the dirtiest of pores and it does not fall short of that. This product has been in my skincare cabinet for a little over 3 years & I wish I had discovered it sooner. When a friend posted it on her IG and swore by it, I ran after work to get it from the Vitamin Shoppe but soon found out I wasn’t the only girl in Manhattan with hopes of flawless skin. Apparently this was when this product had blown up and was sold out everywhere, I ended up finding it at a beauty supply store in Harlem after hours of searching everywhere. Thankfully now, you can find this $9 mask just about anywhere in the city (Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Rite Aid, Vitamin Stores, local grocery stores, amazon, etc) Being the girl that’s always had troublesome skin this mask promised to help get rid of any impurities on my face, Blackheads and Acne being top of my list. You mix the powder with either water or apple cider vinegar 1:1 & get this cream like consistency which you then apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes. You start feeling your face tingle & tighten w/in a few mins & before u know it u need a straw to take a sip of water. It’s unlike any mask I’ve ever tried. After washing your face is a bit red but followed with moisturizer and it’s like a new face. Any active pimples/redness diminish & blackheads are gone. I use this once a week subject to how much trouble my face is giving me and I have seen this mask change my skin. If you haven’t tried this, what are you waiting for?! 5/5
