✨A Buffet for your Skin✨
I love using this product for my daily skin routine to add little bit of hydration. The "buffet" from the ordinary has multitasking water-based serum which cleverly targets multiple signs of skin ageing and improves overall skin health. It helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost hydration, fade pigmentation, brighten dull skin, and firm and smooth skin texture. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' ✨Don't forget to like and follow for more✨ also follow my Instagram page at @sweet_citrustea

I'm on the Fence, What do You Think? ✨
Food for your skin? Haha maybe, the name is inspired by those amazing restaurant phenomenons that seem to have disappeared during the pandemic😉. This is because it contains more ingredients than the usual single ingredient products Deciem offers through this line. It has a lot of appeals, but let's address some issues with this and see if a solution is possible. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' It's a little acidic and tingly for a serum. I like a serum that gives me a soothing sensation and this definitely does not. It is supposed to tingle a little bit because of the peptides, but it's not something I want to experience every day! I don't like how this sits under makeup, it begins to pill and feels like it sits on top of my skin, so it prevents my makeup from absorbing properly. There are a lot of people reviewing this saying that they see no results. I think they should double check the interactions of other products they may be mixing with this. There is a do not mix list of ingredients to note while using this. The following ingredients may affect the performance of the peptides or cause irritation, so get these out of your skincare routine if you try this! Vitamin C Direct acids such as glycolic acid or lactic acid or salicylic acid. Niacinamide (what!? My fave ingredient!?) Retinol Considering this list, I had to change my daily moisturizer which is also my SPF that contains Niacinamide and lactic acid. Is it worth it? I'm not sure yet lol. I'm thinking because it also doesn't sit well under makeup, It might become a bedtime serum for me. Letting this work its magic overnight seems more appealing and then I can follow it with a soothing serum in the morning 🙂. This works for me, but if you are a religious retinol user it might not fit into your routine. Overall, this product is trickier to use than it may seem. They advertise it as an all in one miracle, but you can't mix it with many products. You need to be strategic to see results. There may be a solution to the tingling. Possibly diluting it with a basic moisturizer like you can do with The Ordinary Vitamin C serum... But most tingling products do this for a reason, so idk. It's a “find what works for you” kind of product and although I don't think it's a bad one, I also think it depends on your skincare routine and objectives. If you prioritize certain ingredients like I do (Niacinamide and lactic acid) then maybe it's not worth it to you? P.s Some deeper info on this products key workers! Peptides – Peptides are the proteins and molecules that make up the building blocks of skin, and keep it feeling smooth, firm, and bouncy. They send signals to cells which encourages them to produce more collagen (which our bodies loose as we age). Matrixyl – Matrixyl is a powerful peptide blend which is formulated to have really long-lasting results. It specifically targets collagen production and repairs damage. Probiotics – Prebiotics are a food source for probiotics (‘good’ bacteria). By feeding and increasing the amount of probiotics, they lead to a stronger skin barrier and improved moisture retention. Amino acids – Amino acids work to strengthen skin, maintain hydration levels, improve resilience, and contribute to an overall healthy appearance. They also protect skin from free-radical damage that can lead to signs of ageing. Hyaluronic acid – Hyaluronic acid acts like a magnet to draw moisture into the skin. Each molecule can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, so it massively improves skin’s hydration levels.

Updated Night Routine!
I had a lot of empties in January, so here is my updated night routine! I have a post detailing actives that I use and my schedule around those actives, so they won’t be included in this post. My first step is my double-cleansing step, I use the Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser (📍)to remove SPF and makeup, which I really love, it’s very unique, but it doesn’t break me out at all. Then I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser (📍) to cleanse a second time, I really enjoy this too, my skin tends to freak out when it comes to Laneige’s fragrance, but this is fragrance-free!! After cleansing I steam my face with the Dr Dennis Gross - Pro Facial Steamer which I feel like has really helped the hydration levels of my skin. After that I’ll apply the TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener (📍)which I also like, but I’m not sure how much it’s really done for my skin for what it’s worth. I’ll steam again, for about 30 seconds and then go into my PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum which is the only serum that can truly repair my moisture barrier when I’m breaking out. Then my eye product is The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (📍)which I’ve been loving a lot too! My current winter moisturizer is the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream which again, I like, but it feels like it puts a barrier on my skin, which kind of felt weird to begin with. After moisturizer, my last two steps are to treat any breakouts or spots with the Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment and use something to lock it all in like the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil it does the job, but smells super weird. The only way I’ve been able to describe it is, picture the olive bar at a local grocery store, and the smell that comes from that. Not super pleasant, but it’s okay. 📍= product was sent to me for free

🥰About to try something 🆕🥳
NEIBOURHOOD BOTANICALS - The Daily Glow Facial Oilhas been on my radar after a friend raved about it during a exceptionally long FaceTime call. I saw it on sale and decided to purchase it. I was running out of my two facial oils -The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil - and maybe I need to try something new. I’m hoping it lives up to the hype!

my night time skin routine 😴✨!!!
these are the products that are in my night routine: 1. first I cleanse with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -this cleanser works really well with my sensitive/combination skin - it leaves my skin very soft and smooth -unlike other foaming cleansers it doesn’t dry out my skin at all!!! - it is very gentle and has a calming affect on my skin 2. then I use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - this product saved skin - it makes my skin really smooth - made my skin a lot less oily - helped get rid of the tiny bumps on forehead 3. next I moisturize with THE inkey LIST - Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Moisturizer - is a great light weight moisturizer - leaves my skin nourished, supple, and plump - contains squalane and sacha oil which protect and nourish the skin -the 1% bakuchiol serves as a natural retinol alternative helping to prevent fine lines and wrinkles 4. for my lips I use Vaseline - Lip Therapy Rosy Lip Balm or Vaseline - Lip Therapy, Advanced Healing Skin Protectant - the rosy balm is very moisturizer and leaves my lips shiny with a pink tint - the texture is really soft and velvety - the advanced healing skin protectant nourishes my lips - it leaves them hydrated and really helps when my lips are very dry 5. lastly I use KATE BLANC - Castor Oil - I have been using it on eyelashes & eyebrows since march - my eyelashes are a lot fuller and longer then before - I use a spoolie to apply it to my eyebrows - my eyebrows are the thickest they have ever been!! * this is just to remind you that what works for my skin might not work for yours, I did my research and tested many products to find the best ones for me and that really helped, it takes time and eventually you will find what works for your skin!❤️

Skincare on a Budget: Best Drugstore Eye Creams
Eye creams are always pretty pricey, but for some of us they can be a necessity. They can be good for students like me that pull all-nighters studying or doing homework often then wake up with dark circles and tired eyes. They can also be good for puffiness. These are the best drugstore eye creams that are very effective. e.l.f. - CBD Eye Cream This product has a lightweight creamy gel texture that absorbs very quickly and leaves the under eye area feeling soft. The under eye area is very delicate so it’s really good that this product is fragrance-free. This product’s star ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) soothes skin and reduces inflammation. -Formula includes three forms of peptides which stimulates the skin to produce collagen for more firm and younger looking skin. -Contains allantoin and aloe, very soothing ingredients. -Also contains hyaluronic acid for plumping and panthenol which is a humectant. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream CeraVe comes through once again, but this time with their eye cream. Like their other products, this one contains three ceramides which are great anti-aging ingredients. It also contains plumping hyaluronic acid along with niacinamide to brighten skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. -It also contains soothing and hydrating ingredients such as aloe, almond oil, jojoba esters, and glycerin. -It is very inexpensive seeing as it retails for $12.99. VERSED - THE FIX Emergency Eye Mask The texture of this product has a slightly thick gel consistency that applies easily. It dries somewhat quickly, but since it has a thick texture, it’s better to use at night. The gel has a cooling effect but this isn’t due to any potentially irritating, cooling ingredients like menthol. -This is also very different from other products since it is a mask that is meant for the eye area. -Contains cucumber which is great for its hydrating and antioxidant abilities. -Includes two peptides which is helpful for fine lines around the eyes and such. -Non-fragrant rosehip oil, moisturizing pantheol, vitamin C, and two forms of Vitamin E are included which help strengthen the eye area. -Caffeine is included which can help soothe redness, but there isn’t much research that proves it can help puffy eyes. bliss - Eye Do All Things Eye Gel This is a great product from bliss that has a lightweight gel texture. The gel is very moisturizing but not too heavy and it absorbs very quickly with a light dewy finish. The formula has great skin replenishing ingredients such as squalane, glycerin, and panthenol. -The formula also contains three forms of peptides for its anti-aging benefits. -Antioxidants in the forms of vitamin E and C work to protect skin and aid in brightening the under eye area. -Caffeine is included which can help soothe redness, but there isn’t much research that proves it can help puffy eyes. Always apply SPF!!!

BLISS Eye Do All Things Eye Gel 👎
bliss - Eye Do All Things Eye Gel I’d rather get coal than... this Bliss Eye Do All Things Eye Gel! This is an eye gel advertised to cool and depuff the underye area with a metal tip applicator. This is recommended for all skin types. This has a gel consistency with a cooling feeling. It also has a fragrance. I decided to try this because I’m always on the hunt for new underye products. I used this a few times but honestly, I had to stop because it BURNED so bad. The fragrance is very strong, I don’t recommend any product suited for the undereye with fragrance because it is far too irritating. As soon as I put this under my eyes they started to get red and burn. This did not agree with me at all! Everyone’s skin is different, so this might work for some people. I would not recommend this because of my experience with it. I believe this has ingredients that are too harsh for the sensitive eye area. I’m really bummed this didn’t work for me :( This retails for $16-$22 depending on the retailer. I would be willing the pay $16 for an eye cream if the formula was good, but in my opinion, this is even a bit expensive! Sadly, this product wasn’t worth it for me. ✨

MY CLEANSER COLLECTION : CRUELTY-FREE
here is a post detailing my collection of vegan + cruelty-free cleansers that i’ve used in the past year. for context, i have oily/combination skin that is not sensitive to fragrance. for basic cleansing/makeup removal: cocokind - Facial cleansing oil i purchased this about a week ago. the oil itself works well to remove even eye makeup, however it is CLEARLY scented which i don’t like for removing eye makeup. also, the pump for mine is either super clogged or doesn’t work at all, as i’ve struggled a LOT with getting any product out sadly. i will continue to try using it but would love recommendations for how to fix it. VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm i really did not like using this. i used it about three times but even that was too many for me. the texture is great but the scent is so overpowering and it is not eye-safe. also, it made my skin very dry and irritated after using it. i don’t use this anymore and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with dry or sensitive skin. philosophy - Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser i have used this for about a month and i love this!!! it has a very light fragrance which doesn’t irritate me, it removes all makeup (even waterproof) with ease, it does not foam, and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry!!! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Cleanser i have been using this one for less than a week and i do find myself reaching for it very often. it has no scent and foams evenly and nicely without leaving the skin feeling dry. it also removes eye makeup very well which is a bonus!! specific treatment: THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser i have used this for about a year and it’s my favourite acne cleanser. i have reviewed and spoken about this many times, but it is fragrance-free, foams lightly, cost-efficient and super effective yet gentle. love!!! e.l.f. - Superclarify Cleanser i purchased this on a whim and have used it periodically for the past few weeks. it has niacinamide in it, but due to the effects of using it being more long-term i don’t have much info on it. it is scented (lightly, in my opinion) and foams with a nice cooling sensation on the skin. it has not left my skin feeling dry or stripped and is pleasant to use. PACIfICA - Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face Wash i bought this about two or three months ago and used it for a week straight daily. it left my skin feeling dry and i ended up breaking out pretty severely after using it. it smells like kale and it foams a lot. it is eye-safe but after my experience i wouldn’t use it near my eyes again. i haven’t used it since the breakout. hope you enjoyed! #cheriecreator

Marshall’s Haul!! Clearance edition
I got everything pictured above while scouring the clearance sections of my local Marshall’s. Some products I’ve used before, while others I’ve been wanting to try. Let’s start with my biggest score! COOLA - COOLA Makeup Setting Spray Organic Sunscreen SPF 30 I spent $30 on this spf setting spray back in September and I found two bottles of it for $8 each! Of course I checked the expiration dates first. This is a great way to apply spf throughout the day while wearing make up. I absolutely hate the way it smells. But it has really good ingredients and regular spf application is very important. A product that’s been on my wish list for some time has been Milk MAKEUP - Blur Liquid Matte Foundation but at $40, that’s where it stayed. So when I saw this foundation on clearance for $8.50, I had to grab it. The shade is slightly dark on my winter complexion, but it’s the correct undertone. The formula is beautiful and if you have the budget, it’s a must have! Let me know if you’d like to hear about cocokind - Golden Elixir cocokind - Facial cleansing oil Simple - Kind to Skin Micellar Cleasing Water in any more detail. I’ll be doing a big mascara post soon featuring MAYBELLINE - Colossal Mascara Go Extreme

Morning routine updated
Ok I’ve made a few changes to my routine and sometimes I keep switching a few things in and out depending on the day.... I start with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution which I love. I think glycolic acid is an important ingredient to have in your routine for oily skin and wrinkles and even acne too. I always use insta natural - Zinc Vitamin C Serum but I go between also using insta natural - Age Defying & Skin Clearing Serum which I love for acne, insta natural - Dark Spot Corrector I don’t notice a huge difference with this but it has great ingredients or insta natural - Skin Brightening Serum, Anti-Aging that has alpha arbutin to help brighten dark spots or hyperpigmentation. So I alternate with those! Love using COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to have a dewy glow and helps with skin texture and pigmentation issues I’ve recently added The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with acne and oily skin and love it too. I top with a thin layer of Clindamycin gel and then moisturizer which I alternate also between a few different ones. BEEKMAN 1802 - Bloom Cream Daily Probiotic Moisturizer has great ingredients but a funky old woman smell I do not like, thank goodness I only have a sample size.... Honest has a great soothing moisturizer I’ve tried and also ARBONNE has a great calming moisturizer as well as a lightweight jelly moisturizer I go between. Then I do a few drops of The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% and I’m done. I usually let it sit for awhile or at least a good 5 minutes while I do my eye makeup and eyeliner before I use any face makeup but I love the texture of my skin so far using this all together.

Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 3
Hey y’all! Today’s post is part 3 of 4 of my Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines series. In today’s post we’re covering @geralorentas and @robynkenner ! Starting with @geralorentas. She starts out by cleansing with theCeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser which costs $13 for 8 fl oz. This cleanser has super gentle exfoliating agents, as well as glycerin and Hylaronic acid which are very hydrating. Next she uses theRENÉE ROULEAU - Rapid Response Detox Toner which costs $41 for 6 fl oz. This toner, as far as toners go, is pretty good. Its main draws are Salicylic acid and Lactic acid which are great for dealing with acne. Next she uses theSKIN GRAMMAR - Super Good Repair Essence which costs $38 for 5.7 fl oz. This essence has Nicinamide and glycerin, as well as a ton of ceramides. Unfortunately it has orange peel oil. Citrus oils a extracts are extremely irritating to the skin because they are acidic, so I have to say no to this essence. Next she uses the RENÉE ROULEAU - Vitamin C&E Treatment which costs $69 for 1 fl oz. It has glycerin, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but again it has citrus oils and extracts which make this another no for me. Then to moisturize she goes in with the#Dr. zenovia - Peptide + Ceramide Moisturizer[products]#[FourStars] which costs $79 for 1.7 fl oz. This moisturizer has ceramides and glycerin. Finally she goes in with theLA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Anti-shine Dry Touch Facial Sunscreen SPF50+ which I couldn’t find the price for. It’s a really good basic sunscreen. So that’s @geralorentas routine. For her I would recommend getting rid of the essence and the treatment, but otherwise the products seem great! Moving on to @robynkenner. She starts with a double cleanse, and we’ll talk in a minute about what she’s doing wrong. She starts with the The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser which costs $7.90 for 1 fl oz. The main ingredients in this are squalane and glycerin. A lot of people complain that this cleanser is so gentle is barely cleans, but it seems to work for @robynkenner. Then she uses theMurad - Clarifying Cleanser which costs $32 for 6.75 fl oz. The main draw for this product is Salicylic acid, but again it’s a no because of citrus oils and extracts as well as fragrance. Now I mentioned that she’s double cleansing wrong. Double cleansing isn’t just using 2 cleansers, it’s specifically using an oil based cleanser and then a water based cleanser. (Check out my post on double cleansing for more information) In this case, @robynkenner is using 2 water based cleansers which can be stripping to the skin, and isn’t considered double cleansing. She mentioned she started doing this because her skin didn’t feel clean with just the first cleanse, and I think this might be because the Squalane Cleanser is too gentle. Next she uses theNeutrogena - Hydro Boost Eye Gel-Cream which costs $25 for .5 fl oz. First off, eye cream should be at the end of a routine. The eye cream itself is great though. Next she usesThe Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution which costs $8.70 for 8 fl oz. I talked about this product in pt. 1, but in short it’s really good. And finally she uses the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream which costs $36 for 6 fl oz. This is a nice super thick basic moisturizer. So in conclusion @robynkenner, I’d try to find a new cleanser, then just add your eye cream after moisturizer instead of early in the routine. That’s all for pt. 3! Please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment below your favorite cleansers to help out @robynkenner, and follow me to join the family and for similar content. -Mae

When hydration is needed 💦
I am a dry skinned girl so I am always on the look out for hydrators and moisturizers. This is especially the case as I like to use actives in my routine and they can further dry out my skin. Hyaluronic acid is one of my go to ingredients as it draws moisture into my skin and it works well with other ingredients. The ordinary offers this serum which is great as it is super affordable and it works well with my skin. What is it: This is a hyaluronic acid serum with 3 different weighted molecules so that it can penetrate and hydrate different layers if the skin. Hyaluronic acids is a humectant meaning it absorbs moisture from the air and draws it into the skin. This serum also has b5 which helps nourish and soften the skin. Texture: This is a goopy and cloudy serum that is easily absorbed into my dry skin. Price: This sells at Sephora for $6.80 cad for 1 oz or $12.20 cad for 2oz How I use this: I use this along with my steamer to make sure that the air is moisture rich in order to draw moisture to my skin. This ensures I get the best result. Pros 👍: affordable 2 sizes available accessible effective cruelty free 🐰 Cons 👎: some people don’t like the texture you shouldn’t over use hyaluronic acid (check other products) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this is a super simple serum that has really helped my dry skin

thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

Not worth the hype🙁
I grabbed the ordinary moisturizer at ultra beauty for $7. I was happy to know that it was affordable and on shelf’s. After applying this product on for the first time, I was kinda disappointed. The skin absorbs up the product quickly, leaving it dry fast. I noticed after a couple days, my skin started breaking out on my forehead and chin area. The one good thing that I liked about this product was how soft my skin felt afterwards. I also liked the fact that there is no scent to this moisturizer. I would lightly recommend this product to oily skin type, or to someone who is new to skin care. I will not be repurchasing.

Current Products I'm Using
I have oil/combo skin and been struggling with hormonal acne for a few years now which is mainly around my chin. I have noticed some positive changes but also some negative ones, for example I have more blackheads in areas besides my nose which I never had before. Here are the products I've been using lately. AM Routine I don't cleanse in the morning just splash water on my face and pat dry, then I apply PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster after I apply moisturizer e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free then sunscreen Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract PM Routine During the day I don't wear much makeup just some mascara so I just use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water for my first cleanse, then I go in with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser which I am just about out of so I will be using CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanserwhich I haven't tried before but decided to buy it because of all the hype! Than I apply my toner and depending on my skin at the time I will either use PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner or I'm from - Rice Toner I have just recently purchased and starting using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then I moisturizer with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator twice a weeks and PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C 3 times a week. My skin is still breaking out so I'm gonna try eliminating certain products to see if I can pin point what is causing the breakouts and blackheads. I recently purchased a cleansing brush and I'm gonna start by eliminating the Paulas choice BHA Exfoliator and start using the brush 2 or 3 times a week instead. If that's not the problem then I'm gonna try taking out the Vitamin C. If anyone has any advice or tips I am all ears!!!

My current products that I’m trying out. My least favorite is the ordinary hyaluronic acid serum, it’s sticky and I’m pretty sure it likes to rub off my skin. Not sure what the issue is with it. Also the creams like to rub off my skin as well. Any tips for this issue, is the product to heavy for me? Non of these leave me waking up with a glow or refreshed feeling, but I think they are helping my skin but I do wish I had a mask or something that I can use and wake up with some moisture.

Update with the Process...
I'm going to be totally honest😔 I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes. The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week. Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne. I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. 🤞 🌼Apostrophe - Topical Formula 🌼CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🌼CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🌼CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌼Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer

A little over 2 months results
I’ve been on 100mg /day of spiralactone. No side effects now. I think I had a bit of dizziness in the beginning but my blood pressure and potassium levels were always fine. I’ve stopped breaking out in cysts and very rarely a Pimple here and there . My face is healing now . I’m just dealing with all the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks now (PIH). I’ve also been using 0.025% clindamycin /clindamycin from apostrophe every night for the past 2 months also. I’ve just gotten 6%hydroquinone cream to add to my regimen . And so I’m hoping that will help out more so with the PIH Spirolactone and the tretinoin/clindamycin had done wonders for my hormonal acne !

Shelfie 💕💕
I am a huge skincare lover and love to try out ingredients and brands. Check out my collection and my favourite brands and products. Favourite brands: Versed: this is a brand that I have tried many products and they have worked well for me. This is a drug store brand that is mid range. It is cruelty free and eco conscience, going so far as to state the percentage of usage of recycled material and having recycling instructions on their website. My holy grails are VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK and VERSED - Doctor's Visit The ordinary: this is a great brand as it is super affordable and it’s cruelty free. The way I like to benefit from this brand is to try out ingredients to see what works for my skin, their serums are my favourite. My holy grail is The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% The Inkey lists: this brand is similar to the ordinary but I think some of their formulas are better. They focus on ingredients that allow me to find the best ingredients for my skin, they are also cruelty free. My holy grail isTHE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum Cosrx:this brand was my introduction to K-beauty and they are very accessible through Amazon ( also cruelty free). They focus on the primary ingredient that is either natural or chemical. My holy grails are COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and #Cosrx - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule[products]#[FiveStars] Brands with 1-2 favourite products: First aid beauty: this brand focuses on healing the skin with the incorporation of oats which are amazing. My holy grail isFIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration Glossier: this is a brand started by a beauty editor and are all very aesthetically pleasing and gentle on the skin (cruelty free). My holy grail is Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser Paula’s Choice: this is a great brand that is science driven (cruelty free). My holy grail isPAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 Pyunkang Yul: this is a K-beauty brand that started in a medical clinic and focus on short ingredient lists. My holy grail isPyunkang Yul - Essence Toner Pixi: this is an English brand that has lots of products and lines to target different issues (cruelty free). My holy grail is pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist The body shop: the body shop is a very established brand that has tons of products (cruelty free), I love their masks in particular. My holy grail isTHE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask Niod: this brand has the same parent company as the ordinary but it is the more expensive and technologically advanced. I love that they are pushing the bounds of skincare (cruelty free). My holy grail is NIOD - Modulating Glucosides

MILK Kush Waterproof Mascara ✨
Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara : the waterproof mascara for those of us who love the idea of waterproof mascaras, but end up hating them. I got this in my BoxyCharm with the full intention of immediately gifting it to a friend. My lashes can be brittle, and I’ve always found that waterproof formulas are too abrasive and can even break off my lashes if I’m not careful. Luckily, I decided to take a leap of faith that and give it a shot. As promised, this stuff delivers gorgeous length and volume; plus, it layers beautifully with virtually no clumping. I got nervous at the end of the day because I am completely out of my oil-based makeup remover, but my usual bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser removed every trace of it with no breakage whatsoever. Friends, I cannot recommend this product more. Buy, buy, buy!

My Personal Holy Grail Skincare Products
As stated in my bio, I am a self-professed skincare addict and am always on the hunt for the next best thing. My biggest skin concerns are anti-aging (since I just entered my thirties), dark circles under the eyes, and dryness. I live in the desert, so hydration and SPF are absolute musts. Luckily, I’ve found some great products that have given me what I’m looking for without breaking the bank for the most part. I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to take out a second mortgage on your home to get products that contain high-quality, effective ingredients. First, we have the bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser It’s readily available (got mine at Target), it clears away all of my makeup without drying me out, and it’s great for those of us who have sensitive skin. I follow that up with the CLEAN SKIN CLUB - Vitamin C Brightening Booster I’ll typically take a few drops of it and mix it with my moisturizer in my hands before generously applying to my face and neck. Sometimes, I’ll apply a few drops directly to my face and let it absorb before moving on to the next step in my routine. I completely forgot to include my moisturizer, by the way! I’m currently using the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer for extra-dry skin. It contains hyaluronic acid and keeps me feeling hydrated all day. During my morning routine, I then go in with Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 It goes on like a smooth, silicone-style primer which I love because it gets my skin ready for my face products. It feels feather-light on the skin, and there’s no white cast in sight. Then comes Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid It’s an oil serum hybrid and is meant to be the last step in your skincare routine before applying your makeup. Again, being able to achieve an all-day dewy, hydrated look is essential for me, and this has been a total game changer. The glow is REAL, friends. Since I use a tinted moisturizer instead of a heavier foundation, I find myself using highlighter less and less because this stuff makes it look like I’m glowing from within. For me, that is THE DREAM. Finally, I’ll hydrate the skin under my eyes with either the FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry or the OLAY - Total Effects Anti-Aging Eye Treatment Eye Transforming Cream . Both are fantastic products; I’d say that the Farmacy cream has a slicker texture that almost has a dewy sheen to it, and Olay seems to both hydrate and tighten which is great for the fine lines around my eyes. Note: In terms of results, I’ve read that it takes more time to notice a difference in your dark circles or fine lines with the Farmacy cream, and I’ve found this to be true. Olay works a lot faster on fine lines! What are your go-to skincare products? Share below, darlings 💕

Brands I love ❤️
For Valentine's day I figure I'd make a post about brands I LOVE and highly recomend! Paula’s choice I know I do not own many of her products and I think it’s because I want to try other brands as I explore the vast skincare world. I already know this one is trustworthy in my book. They not only have a great resource with their ingredient dictionary, but they use that knowledge and transparency to formulate great products. Even the negative reviews on this brand that I've seen still say they formulate very well. They are slightly on the pricey side (expect about $40 or more), but you cannot go wrong. I love their PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator especially and have used their PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer Krave Beauty They don’t carry a lot of products in their brand, but like a fine dining restaurant with a small menu, what they make is their specialty. Their products are reasonably priced and they focus on non-irritating effective ingredients to help your skin barrier. I currently have their Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser and their Krave - Great Barrier Relief Inkey List I love this brand and that they are making simple products with usually only once active and that allows people to try them to see how it effects their skin for a reasonable price. I currently have their rosehip oil because I didn’t know how my skin would react to it, but it’s known for hydrating and evening skin tone. I currently use their THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil Cosrx Another good brand that formulates well while still being very reasonably priced. I love their COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence CeraVe A tried and true brand. There is a reason why dermatologists recommend this. CeraVe is formulated with non irritating ingredients, that may make them seem “boring” by not being packed with actives, but effective. I have a few of their products. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum

The ordinary has gained a lot of popularity recently and while their products are amazing and offer so many amazing ingredients at such a low price there is a downside to this. The textures of these products are very annoying and hard to work with. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum doesn’t play well with other products nicely at all especially the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream and almost makes it liquidate or something. It also foams up when you rub it in your hands and feels super tacky on the skin. This isn’t at all a deal breaker for me as it’s a solid serum and it does it’s job well it’s just mildly annoying. It does mildly brighten dark spots and help with pores and that’s all you can really ask it to do. Though this serum is a little bit more oily skin friendly and the THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serumis better for more dry skin types if you want the brightening effects. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA serum is very liquidity in texture which makes it absorb rather quickly which is nice except it’s difficult to get on my face as I usually apply my serums to my hand first and then pay them into my face which didn’t work with this serum as it just ended up absorbing into my hand. This also didn’t do much for MY skin at all. That might just be because I have really oily and resilient skin and a stronger acid would have done a lot more for me but that doesn’t mean this product is bad in fact it could be really good for someone with dry skin or sensitive skin. Exfoliating products that did really help my and might help others with their oily skin and acne are the CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser and The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . The VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream is a solid moisturizer. It’s good for more oily to combination skin but you could also use this as a serum for dry skin before a thicker moisturizer if you have dry skin because it does have that gel consistency. Personally I also used this as a primer and it held up pretty well because it is a little tacky but not like The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum. It’s a great summer moisturizer. Overall it’s a solid pick considering the price and how accessible it is (sold at target) and I definitely recommend it.

Your Skin Routine For: Oily, Large Pores, Acne
Your Skin Routine For: Oily, Large Pores, Acne
A highly requested example routine targeting: acne, enlarged pores, orange peel texture, and/or oily skin. These are example products, the ingredient/step focus is the idea being communicated. I made sure to name favourites that my sensitive, combo skin loves! 1. Oil/Balm Cleanser: Makeup and sunscreen can both be hard to fully get off skin, so be sure to deep-clean skin with an oil-based cleanser! The Inkey List can’t be beaten for the price and quality combo. 2. Foam/Gel/Cream Cleanser: Get off any residual first cleanser as well as whatever grime managed to survive it. Make sure to thoroughly rinse and not use hot water. Paula’s Choice has a variety of affordable cleaners but CeraVe is a skinstagram favourite. 3. Hyaluronic Acid: Skin needs hydration, but it’s easy to over-moisturizer whenever you have oily skin or congestion. Using a hyaluronic acid (or sodium hyaluronate) serum keeps skin bouncy without overwhelming oilier skin types! The Ordinary HA + B5 has a cult following but my favourite is the Paula’s Choice Hyaluronic Acid Booster. 4. Niacinamide: Niacinamide normalizes pores to regulate sebum production and has promising research for its acne-reducing properties. Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster helped my orange peel texture on my chin so much! The Inkey List Niacinamide‘s is my second favourite since it’s simple and effective without potentially irritating zinc like the Ordinary’s. 5. Salicylic Acid: Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid is touted as a game changer for so many people I know, and me too! Salicylic acid deep-cleans pores (moreso than AHAs) and helps to decongest + exfoliate skin. A budget BHA I would recommend is The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. 6. Moisturizer: I believe pretty much all skin needs a moisturizer unless you’re the oiliest (but not dehydrated) of oily or the most normal of normal skin. A simple, nourishing moisturizer that isn’t too heavy is easy to find: CeraVe Ultralightweight lotions, Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer or Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizer, The Ordinary’s NMF + HA, and Stratia Liquid Gold are all wonderful and affordable.
