My AVÈNE collection! Must-buy and Black-list

AmazingStella
There was a period of time where my skin went through serious allergies. Redness on both of my cheeks and my t-zone was dotted with pimples and acne. I was suggested with the brand AVÈNE by the dermatologist because of its excellent reputation for sensitive skin. Some products are my lifesavers and really help me get through a tough time. But not all of them are suitable for me.  The recommend👑:
Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream:
Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream This is the first product I tried from AVÈNE and is also the reason why I stick with the brand afterward. This product is dedicated to quick repair of skin problems caused by irritations. The texture is relatively thick and oily, and need some time to be fully absorbed. However, the effect is unbelievably dramatic!! Most of my redness and pimples had vanished. Sticking to it for weeks, my skin became much stronger and the infection was cleared.
Skin Recovery Cream:
Avène - Skin Recovery Cream My second face cream from AVÈNE, and it didn't disappoint me! Like the Restorative cream, the formula is aimed at skin recovery and protects the skin from external damage. There's another rich version but I bought the light one. Compared to the Cicalfate Cream, this one has a more lightweight texture and is easier to be blended out, not sticky at all. I only use Restorative Skin Cream for the night because it requires time for absorption. While for the Recovery Cream, feel free to use it as either day cream or night cream! The “Meh” 🙅:
Thermal Spring Water Spray:
Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray
Everyone knows this is the best seller of AVÈNE! However, I didn’t like it that much. It’s promoted as sensitive and dry skin friendly, yes it is. But to some extent, I feel like it has no difference from water, and the ingredient table proves me right…. Although it is not expensive, I think a spray bottle does not worth its value. I felt no improvement in skin condition, leave along expecting it for moisturizing. I will never purchase it again.
Gentle Toner:
The product is promoted with soothing and anti-irritant properties, and the ingredient is rich with the so-called “Thermal Spring Water”. I mean… let's stop playing a word game, it's just water. I was not satisfied with its effects, and I dislike it in addition to its texture, which is a mix of liquid and oil. Too oily to use in summer or use with other products for the following skincare routine (unless your skin is very, very dry)
Deep Moist Lotion:
Similar to the Gentle Toner, the “Thermal Spring Water” is its main ingredient. It is a translucent lotion and is very diluted, not nourishing enough for me. It was okay just after you apply it, but then the moisture seems to go away quickly. The toner is too thick, and the lotion is too lightweight, lack of competence to lock the moisture for skin.

SKIN TYPE: Always dry and sensitive due to eczema, highly allergic to dust, pollen and some fragrances😔✌🏻. Around every 2 weeks or so I get eczema flare ups using Novasone (prescribed steroid ointment) to relieve it. GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Personally, it’s a 3.75 out of 5 due to how pricey it is ($51AUD) and the main concern for people being that it leaves residue/oily film. It has its pros and cons but I think the pros outweigh the cons if you’re willing to spend for glowing, glass skin vibes. Glow Recipe claims to “Gently slough away dead skin... remove makeup, dirt and oil... softens the skin while delivering on hydration”, and sis is delivering. Eczema means a lot of dead skin and sebum build-up giving me a lot of milia bumps, especially the flaking skin from dry patches when you attempt to exfoliate while trying not to piss it off making it angry and inflamed; this for dry skin types was perfect as a gentle oil based cleanser. While I did try using this with light and medium heavy makeup on, I found that using a lot of product to remove heavier makeup left a film residue on the skin, with warm water rinsing not completely removing the feeling of something on my face. For this I use The ORCHID Skin - Cleansing Sponge ($5AUD) as a daily gentle physical exfoliant to remove the remaining residue/makeup. This combination of oil cleanser and facial sponge exfoliation surprisingly doesn’t irritate my eczema skin thus I use this daily cleanse once in the mornings and double cleansing at night. After 1 month of daily use I saw visible effects in which there was a decrease in bumps and pimples but it was a gradual change over continuous/consistent use. I take a small amount (the surface area of pinky nail) on each cheek and massage it in on my dampened face for ~1-2minutes then rinsing off and dried with a facial sponge. My skincare routine consists of: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gelée Milk Cleanser & GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Avène - Hydrance AQUA-GEL & Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream For anti-itching and soothing when the skin gets fucked LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm or Avène - Skin Recovery Cream (only lasts ~2months using daily hence 4stars). THE VERDICT: Defo will be repurchasing due to how effective this Papaya cleansing balm has been for my skin in gently exfoliating, not drying or irritating at all for an eczema-sensitive, acne-prone skin type as well as they say it is made without fragrance but it still smells faintly of papayas🥰. HOWEVER, this is fucking expensive, there’s deffo cheaper alternatives such asheimish - Heimish All Clean Balm orThen I met you - Living Cleansing Balm I’m still repurchasing tho😔✌🏻

Dry Skin? Heres the products you NEED!
We all know how tough dry skin can be, as someone who used to struggle with extremely dry skin which has my moisture barrier still damaged and created hyper pigmentation in my skin, heres some products that can help heal it, as well as products that are made for dry skin. Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream This mostriuser is a thick restoring product, but is not oily or sticky at all. It minimises redness through its products and blue tint, as well as giving you a non oily glow without any break outs. Cetaphil, QV, Sukin, Cerave did not work for me when using their mostriusers. My skin was so dull and dehydrated until finding this product. Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Rich This mostriuser is a thinner mostriuser, I would reccomend this after an exfoiliater or scrub as it helps restore the damage afterwards, but not long term like the first product I mentioned. laura mercier - Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer With dry skin, its hard to find a concealer that doesnt cling to ur imperfections and flaky skin, or something that doesnt make you look cakey within one drop. This concealer is absolutely amazing for dry skin, and it makes it appear as if you arent wearing anything at all! I highly reccomend this conclear, its medium-light coverage depending on the shade you get. Heres some products that are popular BUT are not good for your skin. AT ALL! sukin - Detoxifying Facial Scrub Super Greens CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Face Scrub for Men ST. Ives - Gentle Smoothing Oatmel Scurb & Mask ANY PHYSICAL EXFOILATER OR SCRUB (this is just a few) Scrubs are extremely damaging especially for dry skin. While the benifets of exfoilating are very promising, its way better to invest into chemical exfoiliants rather than physical. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer This concealer is popular and was my first, it is very good for normal-oily skin types but it seems to cling on to imperfections on dry skin. Ive mixed in a mostriuser into mine and its going pretty well, but its not a good concealer to start with. HOPE THIS HELPED<3

This hurt my skin😡 Glow Recipe PHA+BHA toner😔
SKIN TYPE: Eczema, sensitive & acne-prone. Highly allergic to dust and pollen😔 I have a lot of clogged pores and comedones, unexplained bumps etc. but this toner helped the clogged pores and bumps🥵 GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner This product is a high-end toner that claims to deliver supple, hydrated skin through non-irritating acids (PHA/BHA) as an exfoliant for congested skin/clogged pores. While the glowy look and visible decrease in clogged pores/bumps was achieved it certainly had its cons when I use this product. I’ve used this product for ~2 months and I’m not entirely certain if it’s due to the fragrance or if it’s just not the right product for me but this product really purged tf out of my skin before giving me the dewy, glass skin look. I use the toner after I double-cleanse, using 1-3 drops patting into the skin all over the face until dry, finishing the skincare routine with Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream , Avène - Skin Recovery Cream & sometimes Bio-Oil - Dry Skin Gel orAvène - Hydrance AQUA-GEL orLA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm I found that a day after each use, my skin begins to dry up and either in angry red patches like a usual eczema flare up, except it’s not really itchy just red and raw kind of pain. This would continue for a few days to a week, sometimes resorting to using my prescribed corticosteroid ointment to get rid of the adverse reaction Although my skin did get angry and irritated like an absolute bitch, I found that my skin did visibly clear up from previous clogged pores and bumps, smoothing the skin and looked quite glowing. I don’t get really pimples anymore after incorporating this product into my routine and when they do occur they’re gone in a day I haven’t seen anyone with a similar reaction to this product hopefully it’s just a minor allergy reaction to ingredients or my bad in over-exfoliating as I found that using smaller amount of toner (1-2 drops) as spot treatments worked as effectively without the irritation Honestly the productGLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner did work for me just not in the way I expected it would nor recommend anyone to try if you know you would react badly to it. The price ($54AUD) could be justified that you won’t be using much at a time so it’ll last hella long and it does deliver what it claims to do which is exfoliate and decongest the skin. I didn’t find it particularly hydrating and has a tacky gel consistency that absorbed quickly into the skin but it did decrease my clogged pores and comedones🥰. After finishing this bottle I would not repurchase since there’s probably new products that wouldn’t cause such a reaction by the time I’m finished and probably cheaper if not better alternatives available.

I Spent $130 On Skincare: 🏷 New Beauty Buys
A few weeks ago I posted about my one-on-one consultation with an expert from Avène. James spent over 30 minutes with me creating the perfect regimen for my skin. However, when I went to buy it and saw the $$ my jaw dropped. Over the past few weeks I just coming back to my shopping cart and finally just decided to go for it last week. Here is what I bought : Avène - Tolérance Extrême Cleansing Lotion$32 this will be the second cleanser in my double cleanse system. First I will use the oil based Avène - XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil which I already own. Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray $18.50. I have used this in the past so I can speak to it’s worth. It’s healing mist that has soothing and anti-irritating properties. It’s the core of Avène as a company and has been healing skin for over two centuries Avène - Tolérance Extrême Cream$38 this will be my new everyday lotion. Potentially replacing my current go-to VANICREAM - Moisturizing Skin Cream Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream $42. This was the first Avene product ever introduced to be through my dermatologist and it’s amazing. It’s used to establish and maintain a healthy skin barrier. I will be using this after work as a no-rinse mask. I work 12hr shifts as a nurse and wearing the mask all day really irritates my skin. Also, I will use as needed for eczema &/or rosacea flare ups instead of the Tolerance Extreme Cream. Total cost: $130.50

1st attempt at the foxy 👁 w drugstore products!
Just coz its spring in Australia doesn’t mean we ain’t allowed to rock the Autumn look 🎃 I was one of those girls who wouldn’t spare the minute to do eye make up until the covid szn (coz glam lashes were already on and that was enough for me!) Yes, i used to get my eyelashes extensions done every month! Crazy!). And knowing its not safe enough for me to get my lashes done, i figured id need some alternative ways to make my eyes pop more to balance the make up look. And whoopsies, i decided to finally learn properly (thanks to the internet) to do eye make up. And this was my first attempt at the foxy eye trend. Still need a lot to learn from you guys and im so here for it! warm hugs, ugggliz

Yay or Nay for combo skin? 👀
Yay or Nay for combo skin? 👀
Back with another product review! This time more geared towards us mixed skin-type folk ✨ 〰️ About my skin: I have a very greased up T zone but an otherwise dry-normal face. I'm always looking for a restorative cream that brings hydration to my drier areas but control to my oiler areas. This....Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream didn't hit the mark for me. The lady at the beauty counter told me it's "non greasy, very light, and water-like!" LIES! DON'T BE FOOLED 🙃 That's not the case at all! It's HELLA thicc. Too thick for my combo skin, almost like a body spf lotion. Made me look like a greaseball (more than I already am) and I don't mind a lil extra shine...but i'm not looking to be a freshly greased cooking pan lol 〰️ Benefits? Well, it at least didn't break me out! But it clogged my pores LIKE MAD. I tested it on one side of my face to compare and...oh boy. My skin is practically screaming "let me out" on my right side. I'm hoping it will subside... 〰️ Verdict? It's a nay from me. If you have dry skin? This will be ideal, maybe even life-saving. It does decrease redness and inflammation (considering the cica property in it) hence the 3/5 stars. But will i return it? Gladly 👀

Acne treatment only needs $17
Acne treatment only needs $17
My skin is very prone to breakouts, especially when I've been up all night or before my period. I've used many skincare products to get rid of acne, but after adjusting my diet and sleep habits, I still get acne. After I went to the hospital to consult the doctor, the doctor advised me to use less functional skincare products, and not to use too much skincare products during acne. Several factors cause acne, including dehydration and damaged skin barriers. After listening to the doctor's advice, I immediately stopped a lot of famous brand skincare products, only choose the simplest way to replenish water. My current skin state has been very stable, and the red blood silk could reduce.   · Laroche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5(AU$16.95/40ml) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations Cicaplast Baume B5 is a multi-repairing balm with a creamy, nourishing texture that can use on sensitive skin adults, children, and babies. It is suitable for dry patches, rough areas, and redness. The formula is fragrance-free, lanolin-free, and white-mark free. I have used this moisturizer for more than one month, which doesn't leave skin sticky or greasy. Besides, this moisturizer absorbs well when you apply it on your face. After I use it for half a month, I can feel it has the function to fix my damaged skin barrier. The redness of my face could reduce, and the acne treatment effect is also apparent-my skin has become stable and healthy. You should apply it twice daily to pre-washed and dried skin, for example, generous layer, body, and lips. When you use it, you should avoid the eye contour area. Moreover, this moisturizer is very safe because pregnant women and babies can also use it. Its price is also quite low, only need less than 17 AU dollars, so I think it is a very cost-effective product.    · Avene-Skin recovery cream(AU$ 33.99/50ml) Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Avene's products have been loved and recommended by many bloggers on YouTube. Because the products' price is reasonable, the effect of maintaining skin stability is also perfect. The goal of Avene is to solve skin problems for sensitive skin people. This cream packaging design is brilliant, you do not have to worry about the pollution after you start to use it. All products of this brand are free of added preservatives, spices, and alcohol. The Skin Recovery Cream has been the best seller in European Pharmacies all year round. Its texture is very silky and smooth, straightforward to absorb, and you will not feel sticky. This moisturizer contains seven essential nutrients for your skin, which are no burden to your skin and can relieve discomfort when your skin is sensitive. I usually use this moisturizer for seasonal changes and acne period, and it's great for hydrating and stabilizing the skin barrier. You can apply it to the face and neck after cleansing both in the morning and evening. I have been using this product for four years. I use it whenever I have skin problems such as allergies and acne. If you have the same skin problem as me, be sure to buy it!

😊How I recovered & soothed my sensitive irritated red skin in 2 days!?😊
😊How I recovered & soothed my sensitive irritated red skin in 2 days!?😊
I have combination-sensitive skin. A few days ago, my cheeks suddenly became red and swollen with visible dilated red blood vessels and small red spots, so I used the Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream and Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray which I had left unused for a while-I rarely used the Avène Water cuz it's basically just water and there's no moisturizing ingredient. And the Avène Cicalfate Repair Cream is said to more suitable for dry-sensitive and neutral skin. Superisingly, I managed to keep my symptoms under control with the 2 babes! It's REALLY my emergency comnbo!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I'd like to share my experience with you, especially those suffered from their skin conditions.  Instructions: -After cleansing, spray the Avène Thermal Spring Water across your face to make your face moist -Also spray on some cotton pads and apply them on your face. -After that, slather on a layer of the Avène Repair Cream and go to bed. Your skin will instantly improve in just two days. The Avène Repair Cream is a regenerating cream that can repair damaged skin, and it can be used on scars, acne marks, dermatitis, stomatitis, surgical incisions, and more! It is a paste with a high water content, so it doesn't feel dry on the skin. You can also use it if you have a bacterial infection of the skin since it's antibacterial and works great in repairing the skin barrier!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations Dry, sensitive skin with periodic acne is a curse! Dry skin has its bragging rights for having a brighter appearance, but the downside to dehydrated skin is irritation. Itchiness, flaking (if your skin is on the drier side of things), and redness are right up our ally! So what is the game plan here to combat these nasties and have a graceful and loving relationship with our skin. "CHOOSE THAT HEAVY CREAM" !! I am not going to lie, Baume B5 is as thick as goo and leaves a white cast, but it settles in surprisingly fast ! (10 mins tops!!) As it penetrates well into the skin. But this is your friend if you are trying to repair your irritated skin that needs some loving! PROS: I religiously started including this in my PM routine after being prescribed tretinoin. It has no fragrance and its a huge plus when it comes to sensitive skincareIt's an occlusive, meaning creams made with butter and waxes. These are superstars when it comes to saving your dehydrated skin that needs quenching! Don't! Shy away from slathering it on active acne or scars, the shining moment for this cream is when you start applying this directly to your problem areas every day! It doesn't clog your pores. I have been using this cream a little over 6-months, and I love the nourishing characteristics that it poses. It is one of those creams that demand your loyalty to reward you with better skin. So trust the process and include them in your daily PM routine to reap the benefits! It is 15$ (need I say more) CONS: Packaging! - I am pretty unhappy with the packaging because the cream sticks out to the sides of the tube, and it is impossible to squeeze it out! I prefer it if it came in a jar or a squeezable tin tube like an ointment ?? I often cut open the container, to scoop out the excess cream as I go towards the end It can get oily if you want to use it as a day cream. It does not sit pretty well on top of make-up/sunscreen. You might end up looking greasy! But hey! It is a treatment that sits well on your PM routine. The tube lasts okay! It lasts a month and a half. But mind you I cut open the packaging which gives me another week's worth of product!

HOLY GRAIL SKIN REPAIRING MOISTURIZER!
HOLY GRAIL SKIN REPAIRING MOISTURIZER!
The Skin Recovery Cream by Avene is my HG moisturizer for when my skin is absolutely freaking out. I bought this as part of the hypersensitive skin kit and it completely reset my skin. Its marketed as a soothing and protective cream that has minimal ingredients for the highest level of tolerance for hypersensitive and irritated skin. Its also hypoallergenic, preservative free, fragrance-free, paraben-free, soap-free, soy-free and gluten-free. Basically this moisturizer will work for anyone! The texture is pretty thick and creamy but blends into the skin easily, absorbs instantly and feels very lightweight and hydrating. It has zero scent and just feels very comforting and basic on the skin. I highly recomend this to anyone whose skin is burning or irritated as it instantly soothes and protects your skin and will act as an anti-inflammatory for any redness or rashes you are experiencing. I’ve been using this product for about 2 years on and off and I always come back to it when I overdo it on trying new masks and skincare. I think it’s a staple that every skincare junkie should have in their arsenal in case of emergencies. It plays well under makeup, didn’t make me breakout more than I normally do and has a great texture for oily sensitive skin. It is a little bit on on the expensive side $35 for 1.69 fl oz. but so worth it for the ultra clean ingredients and smart sterile packaging. Over this product gets 5 stars from me and I would reccomend it to just about anyone!! Avène - Skin Recovery Cream
