it's another wash day which means new products to try. I've been fairly committed to Act+Acre - Mini Cleanse + Conditioner
the last few washes. always remember to 1 shake the product and 2 shampoo twice. a little goes a long way. Emulsify!!!!! after shampooing twice (I used MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner
and MIELLE - Honey & Ginger Styling Gel
in my last wash which did not pass the water soluble test. this means it is probably causing build up on my hair) I conditioned and detangled with my Wet brush - Wetbrush Shower Flex
next I tried my SAMPLES JESSICURL. - Rockin' Ringlets Styling Potion
gives great slip. you do need to ratook the sample. after all it is a small amount but the sample packet was enough to fully cover my head. I made sure to to 4 big sections and make sure I got it in there. gives great slip. I then used my #behairful - the professional detangler[products]# to comb through sections for great definition I used my sample of JESSICURL. - Spiralicious Styling Gel
which has a flax seed gel consistency. I was able to get about 3 quarter size amounts out the sample that u used the praying hands method to massage in. I scrunched in the last quarter size amount throughout my hair wet plopped for about 10 to 15 minutes in a shower cap I intended on diffusing but work meetings pulled me away and by the time I picked my the blow dryer, most of my hair formed a cast. but I diffused a bit nonetheless and I've posted pictures of my day 3 hair. any suggestions or recommendations?

decent hold great shine but do I smell like soda
I am absolutely committed to the Act+Acre - Mini Cleanse + Conditioner movement. Cold process implies that there is no manipulation to the products in the conditioner or the shampoo and you are getting actual benefits from the products you are using. Now theMIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner Was given to me by my younger sister who was not a fan of the sent or of the product itself. Are used this still in the shower on soaking wet hair and rubbed through from ends to root. I used my Denman brush to comb the product through evenly. then sectioned my hair to apply half a pump of the MIELLE - Honey & Ginger Styling Gel once again massaging from ends to root then combing they with the denman brush and scrunching. onto the next section. I take fairly big sections because I'm trying to hurry up. once all sectioned and combed through i took one pump, mixed with water, turned upside down and scrunched my entire head. I focus on the back of my hair as my tail tends to straighten. and then wet plopped in a shower cap for about 20 minutes whilst I rinsed off, got out the shower, facial routine including a 15 minute sheet mask. then I took the shower cap off to air dry for about 10 more minutes. I diffused for a bit to get the wetness out of my hair then ate dinner, air dried until bedtime. then I put on a bonnet and the pictures are this mornings results. let's see what day 3 and 5 hair look like. I also haven't sealed with oil. does anyone think it smells like sprite though or is that me??

mysoigne for the win. amazing curls
I love everything about the mysoigne brand however I would do with every product except for the cleanser. I love that it is women owned, vegan, natural products and easy to use. #mysoigne - the complete set[products]#[FiveStars] I never diffused my hair before and the attachment in this set worked with my devacurl hair dryer. I haven't used the towel yet, but the fabric is so soft. I happened to already have a hair turban that I do love the hair cleanser had jojoba beads and functions as a cowash. it has soothing peppermint and does cleanse fairly well. however I notice my scalp can't go as long as if I used a more lathering shampoo like Act+Acre - Mini Cleanse + Conditioner and the detangling with the conditioner. I haven't gotten down the proper mix of protein leave in, hair cream and the flaxseed gel. one wash using everything it felt ok but the 2nd wash with just the cream and gel seemed to provide the best clumps and curls. I love the idea of a protein leave in though so I'll try to find a way to incorporate it again. suggestions??

A lot of product for a LOW price 🤑
OKAY curly girls of cherie. Let me put you on to Mielle if you haven’t heard of them already. Disclaimer: I have not tried everything YET. But wanted to get this in front of you so we can compare notes. ➿➿I have 3a/b curlzzzzz ➿➿ If you are really looking for some deep moisture this Hawaiian Ginger line is for YOU. The shampoo is a bit difficult to pump out, and you need to use kind of a lot of it to get some good suds (if you’re into that) 🧼 but overall it’s pretty nice. I thought it would be more fragrant but it’s not! It’s kind of like a calming ginger tea 🫖 MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing & Anti-Breakage Shampoo The conditioner is definitely THICC. Had to take a few pumps then comb it through sections of my hair in the shower. Left it in and after a few mins I rinsed it out..it felt pretty smooth. MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing & Anti-Breakage Conditioner Okay here is where it gets a little tricky for me. I have very fine hair. And it needs moisture but if I go overboard it just doesn’t sit right when I dry it. So when using the leave in conditioner, I think I overdid it and left a lil too much in. I normally use the Ouidad - Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Styling Cream after I wash/condition and it is perfect when I diffuse afterwards bc it’s so light. But mistakes were made on my part bc it did not look cute when I diffused it dry. MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner I only used a bit of the MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Styling Gel after the leave in and before diffusing and it was OK but I think I had too much leave in for it to do anything cute for me. Overall, I think it is worth another shot! There is seriously a TON of product here for a really great affordable price. I would say it’s only a bit smaller than Pattern Beauty but I would take Mielle over Pattern any day for the fragrance alone (Sorry Auntie Tracee) — I really hate strong fragrance in my hair products!! I def want to try the overnight conditioner and wash in the AM then use my regular products to style to see if I can still maintain the hydration from the night before, without it weighing my curls down when they’re dry. We’ll see how it goes!!!

Glossy, Frizz-Free Hair for a Night Out
Glossy, Frizz-Free Hair for a Night Out
I have thick, wavy hair that is often a heavy puff of frizz, between my love of baseball caps and my lack of skill in styling. But my husband loves to take me out on dates and my go-to look for date nights is surprisingly easy: silky, glossy hair parted to the side. 1. Prep: I start by including amika: - 3D Volume and Thickening Shampoo and amika: - 3D Volume and Thickening Conditioner in my shower routine! This is my go-to shampoo and conditioner combo- it helps my hair retain movement but doesn’t make it unnecessarily frizzy. 2. Protection: After air-drying, I coat my hair in a thin layer of 2-3 pumps of amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum to protect my hair from heat damage. 3. Separate: I take a moment to separate my thick af hair into three layers with a wide-tooth comb: crown, middle, nape. Crown is pulled into a small ponytail, then middle joins it- I use a clip to hold them up! 4. Straighten: I’m lazy and also clumsy, so I prefer the amika: - Polished Perfection Thermal Straightening Brush 2.0 to traditional stylers. It allows for an even heat distribution and easy experience that makes styling much less daunting for someone who burns themself with flat irons often. After slowly brushing through the lowest layer once, I let down the middle section. Slowly brush through it all again. Then the crown comes down and I brush through it all twice, making sure to begin towards my roots to help heat-tame the usual frizz. I add a twist to the brush whenever I near the ends, to give my hair more shape/movement. 5. Extra Gloss: Because I love hi-shine when I straighten, I rub a quarter-size amount of amika: - Glass Action Hydrating Hair Oil Universal Elixir between my palms and distribute it evenly over my hair, focusing mainly on my ends and the middle shaft of the hair. Done! Weightless shine!

Day-to-Day Heat-Free Hair
Day-to-Day Heat-Free Hair
I’ve been growing out my hair, so I especially don’t like using heat often- even with heat protection, I worry about long-term damage to my ends that will be noticeable for a while as I aim for waist-length tresses. So, here’s how I keep my hair frizz-free on my usual days where I’ll be hanging out inside, hitting the gym, and running errands! • *amika: - Vault Volor-Lock Leave-In Conditioner is like if detangler and a leave-in softening treatment had a baby. It doesn’t weigh down my hair but helps to keep my hair soft and touchable as it air-dries... plus makes combing much less of an annoyance despite the thickness of my hair! • *amika: - Silken Up Dry Conditioner is amazing even on days I’ve washed. Air-drying can leave my wavy hair a bit untamed and fluffy, so brushing after applying Silken Up keeps my hair frizz-free and silky, like a less drying version of hair spray! • *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum probably makes less sense on an air-dry day but I’ve fallen in love with it for how it tames split ends and increases shine when I take a very small amount over my hair with my palms. I use this throughout the day as well, particularly after a windy car ride, to scrunch my hair with my hands without creating a frizzy mess. #CheriePartner *PR Sample

QUICK, TRENDY PONY WITH ALL DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS✨
QUICK, TRENDY PONY WITH ALL DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS✨
Hey guys! Here is a ponytail I have been seeing all over Pinterest and wanted to recreate. For this look I used all drugstore hair products so it will be easily achievable at home. My hair has been recently bleached so it is on the dry side. I have been into creating hairstyles that require little treat so my hair can heal itself. Products: Leave in conditioner spray: aussie - Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner I recently bleached my hair and this product has been a life-savior for adding moisture back into my damaged hair. The product creates soft locks without feeling heavy/ looking greasy. It contains jojoba oil that provides a shiny finish. If you have damaged or dry hair, I definitely recommend using this product! Hairspray: aussie - Headstrong Volume Hairspray with Bamboo & Kakadu Plum I have been using this hairspray forever! I do prefer the other spray-mist version but this one works just as well. This hairspray holds all day/night and does not have any strong fumes that most drugstore hairsprays have. For the look, I sprayed down flyaways and laid some baby hairs to clean up the look. To do: (Follow along with the video) - Spray hair with leave in conditioner mist - Put hair into a pony tail and secure elastic with a section of hair to wrap around - Hairspray down flyaways/ baby hairs - Work in 1-2 inch sections all the way down the ponytail with small elastics, pulling the sections to create a fuller ponytail Song 🎶: Not to Cray by Huma Huma #CheriePartner

A tale of two strands 💁🏾‍♀️
A tale of two strands 💁🏾‍♀️
In normal circumstances, I would have headed over to my local African salon that isn’t that far from me. Alas, it is the year of corona and I’m not going to risk it for any biscuit. There was only one option: To let my thick, 4C hair breathe. I have a lot of hair and after months of being under wraps I knew I needed to: detangle, shampoo, condition and mask moisturize 💦 and then get to twisting. In that order. After I got through the first three bullets, I got out my detangling comb, MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner , MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Twisting Soufflé and Sunny Isle - The Original Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil . I separated my hair into quadrants and worked my way from the back, sides, then to the front. After using the two Mielle products, my hair felt moisturized and it was easier to twist. (It had a better hold.) I used varying sizes so the twists will have more definition when I decide to untwist them. Update: I have had the twists in for almost a week now and something I would change is I should have made the twists tighter at the top. Since I didn’t start higher up, my hair is frizzier at the roots than I would like.
