Is The Briogeo Deep Conditioning Mask Worth $36?
I have been on the search for a good hair mask for quite some time now. Up until recently I was using the aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner
Sulfate-free hair treatments
Deep conditioning hair masks
Hair masks for thick oily hair
My 4b/c routine + info on my hair journey
After a year and some change of being natural it’s taken a while to get my confidence up regarding it. There’s a lot of things they don’t tell you about first going natural. They don’t tell you that society’s acceptance and definition of curly hair is people who’s hair is 3a,b and c and the acceptance ends once it gets to coily hair. They also don’t tell you how HIGH MAINTENANCE caring for coily hair is 😭it’s honestly like caring for an entire person. The list about info that’s not discussed before deciding to go natural is probably 10 feet long, but with patience, love and lots of research, caring for natural hair can be really beneficial and can boost your confidence. My regular washday routine I have 4 key steps in my hair routine: preshampoo, shampoo, deep condition and style When I preshampoo I like to use DOO GRO - Mega Thick Hair Oil AFRiCAN PRIDE - Hair Growth Oil and other type oils. Sometimes I may heat them up for better penetration of my strands but I usually like to apply these to my scalp and strands and massage it in really good. After my preshampoo I shampoo. This is when I use my shea moisture low porosity shampoo or a really neat hair mask that many of you have heard about which is the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay the shampoo is honestly a holy grail find for me because it tailors to cleaning my hair without adding unnecessary protein because low porosity hair can be really protein sensitive. The hair mask is also AMAZING when it comes to defining your curl pattern like ;-; it’s so great. When I shampoo I usually shampoo once rinse and then go back in shampoo again and rinse. Deep conditioning is essential for me. I love using different deep conditioners and hair masks to see how they impact my hair. So far my two favorites have been the Maui MOISTURE - Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask and the aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner these are my favorites because they have a really great price point (the Aussie one is like 3 bucks HELLOOOO), they smell delicious and they have made my hair really hydrated and soft when I have used them. I usually keep my hair mask in overnight and wash it out the next day. Finally my styling has become very different since quarantine has begun. Since we’ve been in quarantine and I no longer physically go to school I’ve had my hair braided down since my state first locked down in like March. There have been maybe three weeks total in the last 5 months where my hair has been out because it’s really simple and easy to take care of my hair. My mom usually braids my hair down and I keep my braids for two weeks (sometimes three/four) and after that I wash my hair and get her to braid it down again. I don’t use braiding hair in my braids because I feel like it’s not necessary and I don’t mind having little chin length braids 😭

HOW TO TURN YOUR HAIR FROM THIS🤮 TO THIS😍🔥
My hair care journey has not been easy but over time, I turned my EXTREMELY heat-damaged hair into lively, bouncy curls! Pictured is my current hair care routine, after 3 years of trying various hair products from ALL different brands I think I found my favorite lineup😍 TPH BY TARAJI - Honey Fresh Clarifying Shampoo With Moisture This clarifying shampoo is one of favorites that I’ve tried so far! I suffer from fast product build-up on my scalp, so I usually need to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. Something about a shampoo that bubbles makes my scalp feel extra clean 🧼 so I love using this on days where I feel like my No-Poo won’t get the job done. SLS/SLES free, phthalate free, paraben free, mineral oil free, and cruelty free! DevaCurl - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser I wanted to love this product because I heard so much hype about it but it just doesn’t do much for when I feel like I need a wash day😅 Great texture though and my hair never feels stripped after using it! DevaCurl - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL. Favorite conditioner I’ve ever used and definitely has a large role in my hair journey. My curls love this conditioner! (NOTE: the decadence version of this conditioner is great for super dry hair as well) Alikay Naturals - Lemongrass Leave-in Conditioner This is another one of my ride or die products and I was so surprised to see that it hadn’t been recommended on cherie yet! This detangles my hair so easily and it’s the first thing I spray on my hair when I get out of the shower. Its main ingredient is lemongrass oil that aims to help strengthen hair follicles, promote healthy hair growth, and reduce hair shedding. Highly recommend this product for ALL hair types! Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler This product is okay. When I first bought it, I though it would serve more as a gel to seal my leave in conditioners in but it just doesn’t work as well as DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler . This gel creates the perfect shine and seal for all my moisturizing products that I apply before hand. AND I love that it doesn’t leave a crunchy feeling most gels do. MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner Another hair care staple. The smell is fantastic and it slips through my hair like BUTTAH😩 Once my hair dries, I’m left with pillow-soft curls! (NOTE: I apply this after my Alikay Naturals Leave-in spray and top it with my gel) Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Last but not least, liquid gold in a tub. Man if I could bathe in this mask I would. I use this mask once-twice a week to add some extra richness in my routine!
How to instantly look younger💖6 Tips you MUST know!
The power of a good haircut is AMAZING! While looking through the internet, I'm impressed by the celebrities who instantly look younger by changing their hairstyle. With the help of a stylist friend, I've got these hair tips for a younger look: 💖Highlights Highlights can add dimension and reflect light to your hair. Stay away from one harsh solid hair color. Go for subtle highlights on top and around your face. Warmer tones are best, such as caramel for brunettes, golden for blondes, or copper for redheads. 💖Volumizing hair products Get volumizing shampoo and conditioner duo such as PERCY & REED - Bountifully Bouncy Volumising Shampoo & Conditioner Duo, which are slightly scented and leave my hair clean and lifting after blowing out. With the year pass, our hair tends to be thinner and thinner with the hair loss problems, so giving more volume gives the illusion of thicker hair for a younger look. 💖Bouncy curls Curls actually have fantastic power to make your hair look fuller and thicker by making slim or flat hair look full and bouncy. I've got naturally straight hair, and every time I changed my look to beach waves with my curling iron, many of my friends told me that I looked much younger lol so I know this tip actually works. 💖Hair color Hair color is an important factor of better-looking skin as a different hair color may be more complementary to our skin tone and helps to make our blemishes less visible. For mature skin, warmer hair colors are better compared to cooler ones, as warmer tones like caramel or copper are able to bring warmth and light to our aged and dull skin, whereas ashier and darker colors can make you look older than by making your look washes out. 💖Heathy-looking hair Smooth and shiny hair is the key to youthful looks! Apart from basic hair care routine, including shampoos and conditioners, I also apply hair oils to my ends every night to prevent them from splitting and a deep conditioning hair mask such as Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask two times a week. What's more, don't look down on your hairbrush or scalp massager! I brush my hair with Christophe Robin - Boar Bristle Detangling Paddle Hairbrushand Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager for about 3min respectively every night to stimulate scalp circulation, which stimulates hair follicles and helps prevent hair falls. As for hair oils, I use HAIR FOOD - Coconut Sulfate Free Smoothing Hair Oil containing coconut oils, which is a powerhouse ingredient for hair moisturization and hair strengthening. 💖Lace Wigs Frequent dying or perming does harm to hair for sure, so I'd like to take a breath from dealing with my hair sometimes and use a lace wig for an instant effect, especially for covering grey hair. A lace wig with high quality is normally pricey but worthy investing, and I'm obsessed with my full lace wig as I can part anywhere I want without worrying about looking fake, and I can wear it out every day. Hope you guys like these tips, and please share your hair tricks below xoxo!
Relief for my Itchy Scalp !!
I feel like Head and Shoulders have had bad reputation over the past decade without a valid enough reason for it. Most hairdressers I speak to always talk lowly of it, with their reason being that “it contains sulfates so it must be bad” and all those marketing myths. I personally am a big fan of Head and Shoulders. Despite having sulfates in, it’s never stripped my hair of the oils and left it feeling squeaky clean (which I hate). This is likely because it’s pH balanced and not on the more alkaline side but lathers enough to remove any oils from the hair leaving it clean! This shampoo has a thick texture and foams really easily making it easy to wash and rinse out. It also leaves your hair looking healthy, perfect for everyday use. I particularly like the menthol in this - if you’ve used a menthol shampoo before, you’ll know what I mean when I say it gives your scalp a tingly fresh sensation (almost the same feeling as the burst of freshness you get after you brush your teeth). If you have a dry flaky scalp like me, this shampoo is perfect for soothing your scalp and relieving some of the itchiness. It’s the one of the very few shampoos that’s not irritated my flaky and itchy scalp. I’ve suffered from a flaky scalp for as long as I can remember so Head and Shoulders is definitely one of those products which has been a staple in my life. What are some of your favourite shampoos if you have a dry and flaky scalp like me? Let me know in the comments below!
𝗔𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗿 & 𝗙𝗶𝗴
This shampoo is so lathery. A little goes a long way and it cleans the scalp extremely well. I’ve been using Acure shampoos and conditioners for a whole year and a half now and my hair just thrives with it. If you’re looking for a shampoo that’ll give your hair a healthy shine without harsh chemicals I would give this brand a try :) and it’s curly girl method safe ;) The only thing I would say that makes this bad is the fragrance. It’s not super strong but it is fake fragrance, which is most times bad for us. It doesn’t take any type of effect on my hair specifically, but you probably won’t care anyways if you already use scented shampoos :) ACURE - Body Beautiful Shampoo, Pear & Fig

Good, But Wasn’t Wowed 😯
This shampoo and conditioner really did calm down my frizz, but it didn’t do much else for me, and it kind of straightened out my waves. However, if your goal is to knock out frizz then this combo definitely does the job.

Clean Shampoo for Oily Hair - Only $12!
Going days between shampoos may be something that some of us have been doing but recently, I have started washing my hair more frequently (hello, summer) to keep my oily hair and scalp at bay. My hair woes are mainly dry and frizzy hair with a scalp that is prone to oiliness and dandruff #sad. I have recently switched to a specially-formulated shampoo and conditioner that I hvae found to be gentle and effective for everyday use. Like many others, I would have overlooked products in drugstore beauty aisles but after reading about Odele, I was intrigued to try. One look at the minimalist packaging and you can understand how much I LOVE the look. These are bottles that I would proudly display in my bathroom. I also like the simple three different shampoo-conditioner collections (smoothe, volumize, define curls), and of course, the price! All products in the line are $12 or below. The line that I am trying now is the Smoothe range that is suitable for dry and frizzy hair. Free of sulfates, formaldehyde, phthalates, parabens, dyes, synthetic fragrances, and all of the 1,328+ cosmetic ingredients banned by the European Union, the brand is also vegan, cruelty-free, allergy tested, and dermatologist tested for a safe and effective hair care experience. After just two days of washing my hair with the Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair texture felt much softer, less frizzy and shinier than it was. The formula creates a productive and substantial lather that I love as it feels like I am truly cleaning my hair thoroughly and well. After blow-drying my hair, my hair always feels light, soft, and full of body, and my roots feels soothed and clean. The Smoothing Conditioner is a must-have companion, and it makes a huge difference to enhance hair natural texture by locking in moisture and smoothing fly-aways. I definitely resonate with Odele’s wonderful brand mission: to democratize the beauty space and put fancy, clean products where they belong — off the top shelf and into real life. Effective and meaningful products do not need to be unachievable and out of reach.
This hair mask is a miracle 👑👑
My hair has always been on the oily side and my scalp is pretty flaky, if I didn’t wash my hair every day I look like I hadn’t washed it in a week. I needed something to add nutrients and heal up my hair. I found Maui MOISTURE - Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask at a Walgreens for around $9 and I decided it was worth a try 🤷🏻♀️ I’m one of those people that is super conscious about the ingredients of both my skin and hair care being natural and without a bunch of chemicals. Right off the bat this stuff smells amaaaazing and the consistency is pretty thick almost like a lotion, which is good because I have a lot of hair (super thin though). You can use this 2 ways: either in the shower as a mask or after a shower as a leave in conditioner. Personally, I found that it works best in the shower, but it works both ways. I’ve been using it twice a week for a couple weeks and let me tell you my hair feels like it’s brand new. It feels so much healthier and I don’t have to wash my hair nearly as often. Bottom line, if you’re broke like me and looking for a good hair mask that isn’t super expensive, this is totally worth every penny.
