Skincare Steps That Changed My Skin!!🌟
These are steps in the past year I've finally introduced into my skincare routine that changed my skin for the better!
DOUBLE CLEANSING 🌟I think back and wonder why the heck I ever used WASTEFUL, irritating, makeup wipes that never completely took off my makeup. And then, I thought I was upgrading when I bought a Neutrogena makeup removing foaming wash. It required harsh rubbing, especially around my eyes to remove my makeup. And it was not an enjoyable experience. I ended up with irritated, stripped skin. And my moisture barrier: DEMOLISHED. After watching Susan Yaras YT video over a skincare routine for people with clogged pores, I was finally convinced and bought the CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil
WASHING MY FACE IN THE MORNING 🌟I have combo and acne prone skin. Out of pure laziness, in the morning I used to go straight to applying my makeup right on top of the built up oil my skin produced overnight, and the bacteria from my pillow. Then it continued to sit on my skin all day! I would recommend cleansing in the morning with a simple, gentle cleanser like the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
EXFOLIATION 🌟I first started my Journey of exfoliation with the RENÉE ROULEAU - AHA/BHA Blemish Control Cleanser
SUNSCREEN 🌟This is SO important and I avoided it for the longest time. It seems like such a chore but can be an enjoyable step. But NONE of your skincare products will mean/do anything without including a sunscreen to protect your skin. Especially if you're exfoliating and exposing new skin. I like the RENÉE ROULEAU - Weightless Protection 30

my go to facial moisturizer for my dry skin
This is the only facial moisturizer all year round from CeraVe. This facial moisture from CeraVe for am use contains SPF 30 protection when you are out in about to prevent you having wrinkles do UV RAY. The Hyaluronic acid helps to give you hydration of layer of your skin and helps to retain moisture. Ceramides helps with restoring healthy skin for the natural barrier. Finally Niacinamide helps to calm your skin down. For my opinion I suffer by dry skin especially in the winter time and it helps me so much during the winter season. I usually use two pumps in the summertime but in the winter season I generally use three pumps. Or on the satisfied using this product and I would recommend anyone to try this product from CeraVe. A little over 2 months results
I’ve been on 100mg /day of spiralactone. No side effects now. I think I had a bit of dizziness in the beginning but my blood pressure and potassium levels were always fine. I’ve stopped breaking out in cysts and very rarely a Pimple here and there . My face is healing now . I’m just dealing with all the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks now (PIH). I’ve also been using 0.025% clindamycin /clindamycin from apostrophe every night for the past 2 months also. I’ve just gotten 6%hydroquinone cream to add to my regimen . And so I’m hoping that will help out more so with the PIH Spirolactone and the tretinoin/clindamycin had done wonders for my hormonal acne !

Facial exfoliation pads
First, follow me for more content like this 💖😘. I know I’ve been doing a lot of First Aid Beauty products and you guys are probably getting sick of me😭😭. But I got a value kit and I wanted to get through and have an opinion on each product before I told you guys about them. Today’s product is the Facial Radiance Pads. These pads are formulated with lactic acid, glycolic acid, lemon peel, and Indian gooseberry. Lactic and glycolic acid are AHA’s that helps brighten and exfoliate the skin and help improve the texture. The lemon peel doesn’t really sit right with me because I read that lemon for the skin is insanely bad but I guess that’s only if you’re using an actually lemon on your skin. Im still kinda iffy with the fact that it’s an ingredient. I also think it’s pretty wasteful to have presoaked pads only because it’s just as bad as using single use cotton rounds in my opinion. I also found myself, in the beginning, using more than one at a time because I wasn’t really paying attention when i was picking them out the jar. According to FAB these pads are great for everyday use, and can even be used on sensitive skin. I do notice that my skin has gotten brighter. This has to be my least favorite out of their products. They do sting a little at first but other than that it’s fine. These help with dullness, pores, uneven skin tone and uneven texture. Will I be repurchasing this product? No, but I’m glad i got to try them. They are good for when you’re in a hurry or feeling lazy but i don’t know, i think the bad outweigh the good with this one. Try it for yourself to see if you like it but it might just be a no for me. They come with 60 pads for $34 and 28 pads for $17. I hope this helps🥺💕FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads
Skincare for Exercising
I want to share a few tips I use for skincare while exercising. I love running, especially outdoors. It’s important to to modify your skincare routine on work-out days to continue to care for your skin. 1. Start with a clean, make-up free face While you are working out, you want your skin to be able to breath. You don’t want your make-up to settle into your pores. This is easiest when you are working out first thing in the morning. I recommend: Cleanse, moisturizer, spf Exercising with a make-up free face can be more of a challenge if you are trying to fit in a work-out on lunch break or after work.I rarely use face wipes, but this is when I use them. A face wipe to remove make-up, and spf. CLINIQUE - Take the Day Off Micellar Cleansing Wipes for Face & Eyes 2. Always use Sunscreen! This is basic skincare rule that can’t be skipped while working out, especially if outside. I have a separate sport sunscreen for exercising that is waterproof and longer lasting. I recommend: Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 30 with Sunflower Extract COOLA - Suncare Sport Sunscreen Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Bonus points if you wear a hat if exercising outdoors! 3. Wash your face right after working out This seems like a given, but it is important to remove sweat residue and bacteria immediately after working out. If you are not home face wipes can come in handy again. Also, toner pads can help remove excess dirt & oil. I recommend: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads It’s also helpful to cool skin after your work out to prevent breaking of blood vessels. Splash your face with cool water and wash with a wash cloth. Your skin is also sensitive after working out, so I do a simple paired down routine. No exfoliating, AHAs, or serums with actives. A good calming moisturizer that can help with redness is good to use on these days. I love: FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask My routine post work out is: Cleanse, toner, hyaluronic acid serum, moisturizer, (spf if daytime) Hope that helped!

updated post for Olehenriksen toner 💙
Olehenriksen toner This toner from Olehenriksen has many benefits when it comes to this toner. When using Olehenriksen toner it's prefer using at night because the formula cause the skin to be vulnerable and very sensitive to sunlight and causing higher risk skin damage. The benefits of using include are dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, even skin tone and texture. The ingredients contain lemon, sugarcane, licorice root, chamomile and sandalwood extract. For me when using this toner you get delicious sent of lemony citrus aroma when applying. To apply to my skin I use a cotton pad to evenly apply to my skin, then after I had a little bit of a tingling sensation but over time it went away. Every time I use this toner at night my skin has a very supple texture and glow. Overall I'm happy using this toner would recommend anyone to try and as someone as my self who suffer from dry skin. OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner don't forget to like and follow for more 😘😘😘 you can also follow my Instagram page at @sweet_citrustea
What do you say about this?
OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner I just want to say I like it although I can only use a couple times a week. But I see the brightening right away . I have to admit it’s too strong for my skin...I love the smell and it’s hydrating too. Thoughts?

CERAVE HYDRATING GEL CLEANSER REVIEW! 💚
Hi! 👋 I am going to be talking about my overall experience with this cleanser from Cerave! CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser INFO: This is recommended for Normal to dry skin! Though, I would recommend it for all skin types. For reference, I have combination skin! I have areas of dry patches and oily areas on my skin! This cleanser can be found at Target, Ulta, Walmart, and Amazon! The cleanser is $14 USD for 12oz! They offer a trail size of 3oz which is great if you want to try it out! REVIEW: This was recommended by my dermatologist, when I had severe acne. My overall experience with this product is great, it left my skin hydrated after washing it off (does not strip the skin). This is a gel cleanser, so it does not foam (create bubbles). Some people say that the product did not cleanse their skin well enough or that it caused them to get breakouts. I use it also as a double cleanser, so I use it twice in a row to get off makeup. This didn’t happen to me, but just another reason to try the trial size! Highly recommend! thanks for reading! Comment your experience with this product! Follow me for more! :)
Differin progress... is this a purge or what?
Sorry this is gross.. I know my skin isn’t pretty right now. Today marks the 4th week I’ve been on DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and also my new birth control (yaz). I have literally never, EVER seen my skin this awful and angry. Should I stick it out until the and of 12 weeks? Does this look like a purge or just a flat out breakout?! I’m freaking out.. I don’t even want to go outside looking like this. I’m also using Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream am and pm, and cleansing with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . Not looking to add any more products. Sometimes I use a hydrating toner. The dryness and peeling has subsided but the pimples do hurt, my cheeks are tender to the touch and sometimes itchy but that has gotten better over time also. Please help!!!!! EDIT: i just bought the DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5%, Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatmentand HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewellto hopefully combat the horrible breakouts pictured above. just praying it doesnt over dry my skin.
Budget Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin!!!
I had recently ran out of my CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil (which has been discontinued 😔) as well as my CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and I was looking for a new, but cheaper way to remove my makeup. I'm on a tight budget right now and couldn't afford to spend $30 on something that JUST removes my makeup. I tend to save money when it comes to cleansers, moisturizers and makeup removers, but splurge on the treatments and masks. I recently bought the POND'S - Cold Cream Cleanser after Dr. Dray, a dermatologist based in Houston recommended it on her YT channel. Ponds recently came out with a fragrance free version, so her, and now I, hopped on board! About the Product 🤍 This is a cold cream, which is an oil based cream first cleanse, that feels almost like a super heavy moisturizer. It gets the job done, but in no way is it luxurious or like "top-end" first cleanses. Their Balm may be different, but it has fragrance. This does have mineral oil in it, but don't worry, it's only a first cleanse so as long as you second cleanse you won't have to worry about it lingering on your skin. But In the process it does feel quite thick and filmy. My Experience 🤍 I have acne-prone, combination skin and this works well for me. It's definitely thick and you NEED to second cleanse to get all of it off. I apply it to dry skin and it breaks down my makeup but it doesnt really emulsify well or come off with just water, which Is fine by me, my second cleanse gets the job done. This did not irritate my acne prone skin or clog my pores. In fact my skin looks BETTER now then it did using the caudalie one, which had fragrance and some other pore clogging components. If you're looking for a good, budget drugstore makeup remover that is AMAZING for sensitive or acne prone skin, then give this a try! It's not luxury, but it gets the job done!!
I am not made for minimalism: Rate My Routine
So first I have to say the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser was half off at Ulta and I decided to try it as my morning cleanser. That was a mistake and why I am broken out in these pictures. Pics are no makeup/filter. My skin is normal /dry. It is incredibly reactive. I can’t use any actives not retinol not HA nor any of the acids. I have one age spot because I avoid the sun like a plague and always wear sunscreen and a hat. This is why my skincare system is so simple and focuses on adding moisture. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil An HG Product. It feels great and makes a nice clean start to the day. Also fragrance free!!!! AM ONLY: fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I keep coming back to it because it doesn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts but I don’t really love it. It works. Meh. PM ONLY: OSEA - Ocean Cleanser I can’t use this every wash because of the lactic acid but it is incredibly effective at making my face glow and getting rid of acne scars and breakouts. I wash my face and then let it sit for two minutes (a cherie trick) and wow does that make a huge difference. It has a distinct smell that takes some getting used to and it produces a tiny bit of foam that you really don’t want to get in your eyes. acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner I like the way this product feels. My skin feels fresh after I use it. The texture is really thin and it takes a while to absorb. H2O+ - Hydration Sensitive Essence I haven’t decided how I feel about this product yet. I am allergic to the moisturizer and the cleanser in this line. I do like the milky texture and the way it doesn’t lay on my skin but seems to absorb while I am not paying attention. Krave - Great Barrier Relief My great HG love that keeps my face from drying out. Let us never be separated. KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment is slowly, but surely, getting rid of the milia on my chin. It is this orange-yellow color and has a thick lotiony texture. innisfree - Olive Real Power Cream Ex. A little goes a loooong way. I have struggled to find a moisturizer because I was applying lotion 5-6 times a day and DE isn’t cheap. This is 1/3 of the price and works 4x as well at keeping my face moisturized. It has a pleasant citrus smell and the whipped gel texture is nice. dear, klairs - Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter This has a really nice creamy but not to thick texture. I use it twice a day and my eye bags have been reduced by 90%. The container is a pain to deal with and dispense product from. AM (Coming Soon) Krave - The Beet Shield How am I doing?
✨ MY MORNING ROUTINE ✨
i work every day and about half the day is spent outside, so my morning skincare routine is quick and easy. my skin has had a JOURNEY and i’m so proud of how far i’ve come with the help of this routine! all these products are good use for mostly oily, combination, and occasionally sensitive skin. i’ve been using all of these products together for at least 3 months, some for far longer. here are my morning products! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser i LOVE this cleanser. i use one pump every day in the morning and i adore how it makes my skin feel. it’s super soft, lathers nicely, and smells like a green smoothie! i often use it in the shower in the morning, but i’ll use it when i’m not showering too. i have mostly oily skin and this cleanser makes my skin feel so clean, yet doesn’t feel stripping. OLE HENRIKSEN - Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub i use this once or twice a week. it’s the best to use in a hot shower due to the activated ingredients that heat on your face. it’s a mini sauna, just as the name suggests. it’s perfect for oily skin and clears out the junk from my pores, as well as prevents future blackheads. it’s always best to minimize use of physical exfoliators, because they can damage your skin barrier, but this exfoliator isn’t super abrasive. it’s still probably best to use a couple times a week at maximum and follow with a moisturizer and/or a sunscreen. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i LOVE this serum! it lasts forever and is super hydrating. this serum has pineapple ceramide, pro-vitamin b5, and sodium hyaluronate. it’s packed with vitamins that are set to hydrate. there’s honestly no true dupe to this product! i apply one pump once a day in the morning as suggested use with c-firma (see review below). DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this is the best vitamin c serum out there. i’ve heard of dupes, but i’ve never wanted to sway from my tried and true. if asked when i first started using this product, i would have rated it 4 stars, because without damp skin (or b-hydra), it doesn’t apply as easily as it should. i find it’s very tacky to apply without either damp skin or b-hydra. when paired with b-hydra, as suggested, it applies like a dream. one pump of c-firma and one pump of b-hydra and i’m set for the morning. it covers skin texture, dullness, and any fine lines and wrinkles. RENÉE ROULEAU - Weightless Protection 30 as everyone is aware by now, sunscreen is a MUST in your morning routine. i find this one doesn’t leave a white cast or look oily on the skin. i also find that i don’t need a moisturizer when using this sunscreen. this is perfect for every day use and is an amazing primer for any following makeup (or none).
Restarting my Acne Journey
Hi all! This is a little vulnerable for me: I usually never post or go outside without at least a bit of makeup. BUT! I’m restarting my efforts to fix my acne with a new routine, and I know there’s a lot of people who struggle with this. So, here’s my face! I’ve been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel for two weeks now and the purging is starting, so hopefully this is the worst it will get. I’m hoping with continued use to see some progress and to track it here! I have experienced stinging and some severe sensitivity while my skin gets used to it, but after two weeks the stinging is dying down. I’ve been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne for 10 years now, and believe it or not this is the best it’s been in years. I’ve slowly figured out what works for me, and wanted to share those tips. BUT, if I’ve learned anything in the past ten years about acne it’s that you need to listen to your own face: even if 1000% swear by something, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. I have super oily skin, so if you have dry or combo, the listed routine will most likely not work. But for my oily pals, here’s the routine that’s improved my skin so far: Morning: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I love how calming and non-stripping this cleanser is, but it still manages to reduce my oil FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry to target acne scarring Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 to protect from sun damage and irritation. I HAVE TO use a gel formula for moisturizers/sunscreens, or else I break out like crazy. That’s the number one issue I’ve figured out with my face. This one has a nice gel cream texture and is lightly moisturizing, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick. Night: First cleanse/makeup removal with GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm Second cleanse with FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser Apply pea sized drop of DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel If my skin is feeling good and non-irritated, I use LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask for just a bit of moisture overnight If my skin is feeling irritated/tight, I’ll use GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil for a heavier hit of moisture. If my skin is REALLY irritated, I follow with Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist to try and calm my skin down So here we go! Hoping to see some improvements next month. Trying my best to be patient and consistent this time, which is the hardest but most important part. Thanks for reading, and good luck on your acne journey! #CherieCreator #acne #pimples #acnecare #cysticacne #hormonalacne
Dr. Jart+-Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist
Grateful to be chosen by @stylekorean_global to review 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐫𝐱’𝐬 𝐀𝐂 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧🌹 Cosrx AC line contains BHAs & essential oils. Because i’m on tretinoin, I tested out the line 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 & max of 3 times a week. So this review is based on the limited usage of these products ☺️ _________________________________ 🔆 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫- salicylic acid face wash that helps unclog pores & treat lesions. This may be a lil drying for dry skin but works perfectly fine for me. It’s not as stripping as other SA cleansers I have. Does the job. 🔆 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫- propolis & aloe based gel moisturizer, i love its texture! I like its combination of powerhouse calming and hydrating ingredients— green tea, niacinamide, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, zinc pca, centella complex. This feels very soothing & really does calm my skin. Also has tea tree which is a great anti microbial, was previously one of my favorites ingredients but apparently, it has fragrant compounds so it isn’t safe for long term use. The formulation also has Mint extract. Tea tree, mint, propolis are huge potential irritants. But overall, I still really enjoy this product. ~this is more like a humectant only, has to be sealed in with an occlusive 🔆 𝐚𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡- as usual it works great! Cosrx is my most trusted brand for pimple patches. They work wonders on cystic acnes-look nowhere else! 🔆 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦- could have been a great niacinamide serum w/ ceramide and peptide. The addition of tea tree & propolis being on top of the ingredients is my only apprehension. This is very hydrating but I would not use it everyday. 🔆 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐝- i find this formulation a great anti-inflammatory. It’s a green tea based toner w/ BHA (Betaine salicylate) & PHA plus tea tree & centella. This is free of alcohol. But works really well in breaking down sebum. 🔆 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦- this was okay, did not do much for me. I will opt for the pimple patches.

Birth Control Rebound Skin Savers
I resent it quit my birth control (the kyleena IUD) and my skin freaked out. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures but I started breaking out in hormonal acne and little bumps all over my chin and forehead. And here’s the routine that helped support my skin CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I use this product morning and night to gently cleanse. I’d like to give this more stars but I’ve only been using it for about a month and I’m still not COMPLETELY converted. I love how hydrating and gentle it feels on the skin, it doesn’t damage my skins moisture barrier and I never feel stripped and tight after cleansing. However it doesn’t seem like it would work very well to remove an oil cleanser and additionally I feel like I need to cleanse longer when my skin is oily but since I mostly break out due to dryness I like it. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin A classic holy grail for a reason. It’s super moisturizing, skin barrier friendly, doesn’t break me out and is just all around a great product. I use this morning and night The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I use this every 2-3 days at night time to exfoliate. It helps get rid of texture and dark spots and works very well, however; it causes a bit of a tingling/stinging sensation since my skin is super sensitive but it goes away within a minute. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Combats sensitivity, and inflammation and helps sooth redness which is amazing for healing breakouts. I will say I’m sure it’s doing it’s job but you won’t see any drastic overnight differences COSRX - Natural BHA Skin Returning Emulsion The BHA and centella asiatica extract in this are an amazing combination for any acne or blackheads. This changed the appearance of the bumps on my forehead and chin overnight. It’s super gentle and feels great on the skin. This is one of my favourite products COSRX - Master Patch Combo Just like the BHA toner this product is amazing especially because I have the awful habit of picking my skin. These draw out all the hung and impurities and blend into the skin so much better than I thought they would. They also have a bit of a blueing effect on the spot so it hides the angry redness and they are even great for day wear. These get rid on any problem spots practically over night. Kiehl's - Super Fluid Daily UV Defense SPF 50+ Sunscreen is nonnegotiable for me especially because I’m so prone to dark spots. This one is super lightweight and doesn’t smell like sunscreen which is great but I think it’s a little over priced. It’s still a great product though FOREO - LUNA mini 2 This cleansing brush is amazing. I’ve been using it for 4 years and It helps clean out your pores and leaves your looking super dewy and fresh

Cystic Acne - my journey to clear skin
During this quarantine time, stress has been high, my hormones have been a mess and everything has been reflected on my skin. I always struggled with acne with having very oily skin and guiltily touching my face (a lot!). A method that worked in my teen years was drugstore products (Oxy Acne Medication-namely the acne pads and the rapid spot treatment cream) in combination with the pill - but that pill got discontinued and since then there has been a constant battle between my skin and acne. Eventually, the drugstore products did not have any effects on my skin. My main problems are cystic acne and the deep scarring it leaves. I have searched over and over what to do to ‘cure’ cystic acne. The answers ranged from changing your diet completely to taking Accutane to eliminating stress. The only products I have tried that are making my skin feel much better are the Ole Henriksen products. I start my morning routine with the OLE HENRIKSEN - Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser This has significantly reduced the oil on my skin and visibly reduce my pores with its AHAs. I follow up with the OLE HENRIKSEN - Balancing Force Oil Control Toner This toner helps balance my skin with its BHA and AHAs properties. Once this is done I go in with the OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum which is my daily dose of Vitamin C and collagen. I then add OLE HENRIKSEN - C-Rush Brightening Double Crème and OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème I end my morning routine with VICHY - Idéal Soleil Ultra-Light Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 It’s a very light sunscreen that can sometimes leave a white sheen. This is important due to the sun sensitivity caused by the AHAs. For my night time routine I wash my face using a silicone pore refiner in addition to Spectro Sensitive Skin care cleanser. Before going to bed, I put on the OLE HENRIKSEN - Invigorating Night Transformation Gel on my face and neck which has helped tremendously in smoothing skin texture and evening tone. I then moisturize using the OLE HENRIKSEN - Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer It’s light and has a gel like consistency. Finally I add my eye cream Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado Once or twice (if I have time) a week I also do a clay mask from origins which has left my skin soft and clean. ORIGINS - Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores When I feel myself breaking out I will use Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers which are basically round stickers (2 sizes - small and medium) that will absorb the sebum from the blemish. It’s also a great way to limit the bacteria coming in contact with the blemish and you also avoid touching it. My skin is still far from fully recovering from cystic acne and these steps might not work for everyone, but for now I’m trying different things and seeing where this will go.

How to Treat Dreaded ‘Maskne’ 🖤
With everything going on right now I know a lot of people (myself included right now) are wearing masks for 8+ hours. With this new addition to daily life a new problem I’ve been hearing a lot about right now is ‘maskne’ or mask acne. With your mask on your face all day causing irritation it’s perfectly normal to experience break outs. When I do get really bad break outs I tend to simplify my routine down to these basic steps: (disclaimer: I myself have oily, acne prone skin that is mainly grade 2) 1.) Cleanse - FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser A gel cleanser is best for oily skin. It’s also going to be best to get all the sebum, debris, and other gross stuff you may have under your mask from breathing in it all day. This one is gentle but effective without stripping your skin. 2.) Prep - GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum I always use niacinamide as a prep step. My favorite niacinamide serum is from Good Molecules. It’s only $6 and it absorbs really nicely into the skin without feeling sticky. This is going to help regulate oil control so you’re not over producing, calm down any inflammation your new break out may be experiencing, and help heal any pigmentation that might be left behind as the break out heals. 3.) Spot Treat - GEORGETTE KLINGER - Acne Spot Relief Then I go in with a spot treatment. I really like the Georgette Klinger spot treatment because it’s cream formula absorbs really well into the skin to dry out the break out properly without damaging the surrounding skin. It contains both salicylic acid and lactic acid so while it helping to shed dead skin cells from the face so sebum doesn’t get trapped underneath to create more break outs the salicylic acid goes deep into the pores and cleans it out. Another great option is the Clinique Acne Solutions Gel. 4.) Moisturize - FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya You always want to seal a routine with a good moisturizer. For oily skin I recommend a gel (with dry you’ll want a cream). This will help keep your skin hydrated while it’s healing without feeling too heavy. If you use too heavy of a cream with oily skin you have the potential of clogging the pores and with the mask on top it will just make things worse (With dry skin you don’t have to worry about this as much).
