DRY CUTICLE SOS: 3 TOP TIPS

My cuticles are taking a beating lately - specially at this time where we’re washing our hands and using alcohol-based hand sanitizers more than ever. However, it doesn’t have to stay that way - here are my three top tips for cuticle care. TIP 1: DON’T CUT THEM Instead of cutting your cuticles when doing an at-home manicure, use a cuticle remover and gently push back any sticky skin on your nails. This ensures that technically there’s less cuticle to get dry while still keeping them looking smooth and tidy. It also reduces the likely hood of a cuticle infection if you cut them wrongly. The only thing I recommend cutting is any large, dead pieces of skin or hangnails. Do this every two weeks. BLUE CROSS - Cuticle Remover
NICKAK - Cuticle Nipper Single
ULTA BEAUTY - Cuticle Pusher
TIP 2: USE CUTICLE OIL Like our hair, our nails and the cuticle benefit from using moisturizing cuticle oil. They help to soften the skin around the nail to prevent hangnails from forming! Cuticle oils also help strengthen your nails to grow longer and stronger. Use a cuticle oil at least once a day! TIP 3: USE HAND CREAM This is one of the easiest things to do to take care of cuticles - use a hand cream every time after using a hand sanitizer. Repeated use of alcohol on skin can be very drying, and it’s important to replenish it ASAP! Using a hand cream right after helps to reduce the drying effect of alcohol on your cuticles and hands in general. NIVEA - Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Creme
Here’s a roundup: EVERY TWO WEEKS: Push Back Cuticles EVERY DAY: Use Cuticle Oil AS OFTEN AS YOU WANT: Use Hand Cream

How I Get Rid of Pimple Marks in 3 Weeks!
I started having acne breakouts back in October 2019 and I had no idea what was causing it. Pimples and dark spots were always there for about 6 to 7 months, I had no idea what products to use so basically I just lived with it, hoping they will all magically disappear one day.   Before I get into sharing with you guys how I got rid some the dark spots and actual acne as seen on the images on this post, let me give a back story—I grew up with 0 skin problems. Yes, you read that right, I didn’t go through that awkward teenage phase. Thus, I grew up having no knowledge about skincare.   It all started back in 2017 when I visited Seoul Korea during winter time—I did not have any skincare routine, and I would literally just wash my face with the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and that’s about it. I literally had no idea which moisturizer is good for my skin, even more so what serums are for, or even what face mask would suit my skin type.   After 2 months of getting back from Korea, my skin suddenly started to feel dry, and that’s also when I started getting acne from time to time. I realized from there on that my skin type is normal to dry. Given that huge self-skin revelation, I started simple by incorporating the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Crème to my skincare routine and let me tell you that I have been using it daily, every day and night ever since! I promise you that it is lightweight and super moisturizing on the skin, and it won’t mess up with your makeup throughout the day.   Every now and then, I have been experimenting with other skincare products but I keep on ending up with sticking to my simple 2-step skincare routine. Fast forward to what has been happening to my skin lately, I realized that I had to try and look for something that would really work for me. After doing proper research and watching endless YouTube reviews, I finally found 3 products that worked best for my skin problems: 1.    Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe Acne Clear Micellar Water 3-in-1 Caring Cleanser 2.    Hada Labo Goko Jyun Hydrating Lotion 3.    Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Serum   I start off by cleansing my face with Cetaphil, pat my skin dry, then pour the Nivea Micellar Water onto a clean cotton pad and gently wipe it on my face. I usually consume 2-3 pads of cotton to make sure I get rid of all the excess dirt and makeup residue on my skin. After this step, I apply the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion with the use of my finger tips to the drier areas of my skin and then let it dry for a few seconds before I apply the Snail Truecia Miracle Repair Serum on areas where I have dark spots. I finish off my skincare routine with the Nivea moisturizer and apply it all over my face.     After adding these 3 products to my skincare routine, I could definitely say that I had way less acne appearing on my skin, and that my dark spots are now getting lighter. Would I recommend these to anyone? 100% yes!

Nail Care 101 - Dos & Don’ts💅
Dos Do - Use glass nail files. Especially you have weak Sometimes you may find glass nail file is not as sharp as sand ones. Since it is very low grit file, it will not damage your nails. Do - Rub your nail with regular rubbing alcohol to remove the dirt and oil with a makeup sponge. Some people prefer cotton balls. I would not recommend since those cotton pads or balls always leave those little strings on your nail. This can become really annoying when you are applying polish and its hard to notice till you actually applying the polish and messes up with everything. Do - use base coat and top coat as better prep before applying actual color and give it a shine finish. A top coat would also make the finish shinier and stay longer. Do- start in the middle when painting you nails. then go near the cuticle area and drag it up from each side. Dont’s Don’t paint over other colors. I know this is obvious, but I do see a lot of people painting over other colors. Do not cut your cuticles too much or too often. What you want to do instead is to get yourself some cuticle oil or softener and just rub it and massage that along your cuticles. And after approximately 5 minutes, you are gonna use a wood stick or a push to gently push back your cuticles. This step you want to make your cuticles look nice and even but not over cut. Over removal of cuticles will weaken your nails and cause further damage to cuticles. Do not file in both directions. A good practice is to filing in only one direction. If you do both sides back and forth, it’s almost like sawing your nails and probably cause more damage. Although it takes a lot of time by doing this, but it worth it. Do not use old nail polish that you had for 3 years. The texture are becoming thick and sticky and make it hard to apply and crusty. When you are applying the polish, do not wipe off the brush too much or having too much product on the brush at a time. You want to apply with enough polish which doesnt dry fast before it is evenly applied and you also don’t want it falling very where or flooding your cuticles and take forever to dry OPI - Infinite Shine Prostay Primer OPI - Nail Laquer + Top Coat NICKAK - Cuticle Nipper Single

How I do my nailcare/paint my nails!
I have recently fell in love with nail polish and nail care! I look forward to doing my nails every week. I was a nail biter all my life until this year. I am always focused on strengthening my nails. I’ve been loving Essie’s gel couture line! This nail look is a shimmery champagne color—“Last Nightie” First I always start by doing my cuticles. I never realized how important taking care of your cuticles is and the benefit it does to your overall nail health. I remove my cuticles/push them back once a week using BLUE CROSS - Cuticle Remover This makes removing the cuticles SO easy. Within a few seconds they basically soften up/dissolve so they are easily pushed around the sides of the nail and top of the nail. I use a metal cuticle pusher but I make sure to be extremely gentle when using this! (I got mine from amazon) but this is basically the same thing!ULTA BEAUTY - Cuticle Pusher Next, I file my nails to create a shape I want, then I wash my hands. Finally I use GOLD BOND - Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream and PEACH & LILY - Pure Beam Luxe Oil before painting my nails. Now I apply my base coat and recently I’ve been using#Pink Armor - Nail Gel[products]#[FiveStars] I got mine from amazon. It basically acts as a strengthening bond on your nails. This may not be the best option for nail health, but like I have stated. I needed all the help I could get since my nails were SO flimsy and thin at first. I do think this stuff has helped significantly! Finally I apply 2-3 coats of my polish and apply my gel couture top coat! This polish line is SO good. Happy nail care 💅

just 3 tools for the perfect manicure at home!
just 3 tools for the perfect manicure at home!
I’ve been perfecting my manicure routine during the last few months, and here’s my simple steps: 1. I always start by washing my hands. I’ve learned it’s easier to clean up my nails and cuticles when they’re a bit softer. 2. using a metal cuticle pusher, I gently push the overgrown skin back. I got my metal kit from tjmaxx but I can’t find it online anymore! if you visit your local store I’m sure you can find something similar for a great price. 3. very carefully, trim the excess skin. this SHOULD NOT HURT, nor should you bleed. so be careful! 4. if you need nail shaping, use a nail file. my nail salon always gave me the one they used on me to take home, so I have a few like this one. but if you need one, sally’s beauty has a great selection of them! 5. then, you polish! I love this one by ella + mia, and this color is soooo pretty for summer. if you want an extra glow, OPI - OPI Top Coat is a great choice. 6. some secret tips I love—I follow my manicure up with some rose hip oil BEAUTYBIO - The Radiance Brightening Vitamin E + Rosehip Seed Facial Oil right on my cuticles and rub it in gently. this really makes my nails look and feel professionally done. also, using a hand cream leaves my hands as silky soft and perfect as my nails! lastly, I like doing my nails in front of a fan. it makes the polish dry as I’m going and makes the job a lot quicker! doing your nails at home is really easy and fun! it’s a lot simpler than it seems. you can have gorgeous nails at home!

My Tips to Grow Healthy Nails!
My Tips to Grow Healthy Nails!
First off, I would like to pay myself on the back. I am 24 years old and have been a nail biter since my childhood. This year I made a New Years resolution to stop biting my nails. Since having short nails from biting my whole life my main objective was to create strength in my nails because they were so thin & flimsy from not ever being grown out before. First thing I did. Started taking biotin! This not only helps strengthen nails, but helps my skin & hair as well. This is a 5,000 mcg dose so it is significant to your daily intake. Always check for dosage and make sure you are consistent! Since I’ve been a nail biter seeing the “white” part of my nail growth is triggering. So when I see it, I want to bite them. For this reason for the first few months I constantly had polish on my nails to help break my obsession with biting. Now that my habit is virtually gone (YAY ME) I take week long breaks in between my polish!! It helps give your nails time to breath and to take the time to give your nails/nail bed some extra nourishment. For nourishing my nails I use GOLD BOND - Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream and LUSH - Lemony Flutter every night before bed. The hand cream is thick but not too thick, it absorbs nicely and doesn’t leave any stickiness or heaviness on the hands. The cuticle butter is VERY rich and thick. A very small amount is needed for each nail/cuticles and I focus/massage it in for a few minutes each night. It has beeswax, Shea butter, and avocado oil in it for growing healthy nails! Remember cuticle care is important! I’ve also been using the PEACH & LILY - Pure Beam Luxe Oil for a cuticle oil each night and throughout the day sometimes to give my cuticles some extra love. This oil has squalane, jojoba, camellia, grapeseed, and sea buckthorn oils. It is surprising easily absorbed! I really love this oil for my cuticles. (I have oily acne prone skin so I don’t typically use face oils very much—so I repurposed and used it for my cuticles instead). If you have been/are a nail biter, you know how hard it is to quit! You just have to get in the right mindset and continue working to break your habit. 👏🏻🤍

How To Grow Strong Healthy Long Nails!
How To Grow Strong Healthy Long Nails!
How to grow strong, healthy, natural nails! Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! This week I felt inspired to share how I learned to get my nails to grow longer and stronger. It’s relatively easy if you are dedicated and are willing to take a few extra steps. Here’s a little background on my nail story. I never bit my nails (only because the thought of the amount of germs and bacteria that live on our hands just grossed me out) or picked at my cuticles. What I noticed that significantly damaged my nails was when I got fake nails (obviously). They completely destroyed my nail beds. They were painful, soft, brittle, peeled, you name it! So I stopped and gave my nails time to breathe. Then I discovered gel and how convenient it was. But again the constant nail buffing damaged my nails causing them to dry out and peel. So I decided to track back to regular nail polish thinking it would solve all my problems but no! My nails continues to break and peel. I later realized that I wasn’t going to the best nail salons. Sure they were quick and inexpensive but they didn’t use the best products and techniques to maintain nail health. So I started doing my own manicures and learned from trial and error how to get my nails to where they are today. So first thing I’d like to recommend (professional nail tech please don’t come for me) is to stop ALL forms of buffing to the nail bed. I noticed once that stopped my nails got thicker and had less noticeable lines and ridges. Next I bought a better top coat. For the last two years I’ve been using the nailtiques brand. They have different formulas for different needs and they worked pretty good to protect my nails. I don’t recommend buying it on amazon they’re extremely over priced there. nailtiques - Nail Protein Formula 2 Plus ***This is very important: when changing your nail color be aware of the nail polish remover that you use! Most nail polish removers are very abrasive and skin the natural oils of you nails so make sure to wash your hand thoroughly after you finish. Make sure to apply hand lotion after to moisturize your nails again. Don’t apply your nail polish right away give your nails enough time to absorb the lotion. I noticed the EXTREME change this step did in improving my nails. Whenever I went to the salon they never washed my nails thorough to get rid of all the acetone and just applied polish right on top causing my nails to get chemically damaged and turn yellow.*** I also don’t wear nail polish every week. I like to give my nails a break every month and skip color for one or two weeks so my nails can breath. On the days my nails are bare I notice they can get dry so a good hand cream is a must. Our nails are very porous so just like our hands they go through the day to day environmental battles that can take their toll in the long run. So on the days you don’t wear nail polish make sure to keep your nails and hand hydrated. I use Cerave. Personally it’s the best body lotion that doesn’t irritate my skin on the market. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin Next I know we all heard biotin is great for hair skin and nails but I would always always always break out. In my opinion it wasn’t worth the hassle of having bad skin just for my nails to grow quicker. That is until I discovered Neocell Biotin Bursts on amazon. They’re small chewy vitamins that taste like açaí berries packed with 10,000mcg of biotin. Now anything over 1,000 mcg of biotin broke me out and this guy does not! So if you always wanted to add biotin to your dietary intake but couldn’t because it broke you out I really recommend this product. I noticed my nails grow quicker and stronger since I started taking the vitamins. Another great vitamin that you can add to your diet is Omega 3 fatty acids. I read that it can aid in moisturizing the nails and helps combat dryness and brittleness. Okay and finally I left the less fun part for the very end...changing your bad habits. This includes biting your nails and picking at your cuticles. Using your nails as tools which includes picking and scraping at things. Having a bad diet and not drinking enough water. Exposing your hands to chemicals. All these can significantly make your nails weaken and brittle your nails. It may be a bit challenging at first but it’s worth it in the end! I hope this post brought some value to your nail growth journey! Let me know what think! Also if you feel like you have anything to add so we can all learn something to help us grow our nail drop a comment below!

Dry skin? Cracked lips?
Dry skin? Cracked lips?
Bag balm is one of those products that you would probably see in a drugstore, but never pick up and buy. This is a great alternative to use for all in one purpose. I personally use it for my lips, because I find that with normal chapsticks it dries out my lips and then I have to apply more. Not with bag balm. I apply it at night and I have smooth lips for a week. I also use it for my cuticles to keep them soft and prevent hang nails. Can be used for dry skin on the elbows, heels, and hands. This product is also great for your pups paw pads. My pup has dry pads on the bottom of his paws. I used it once and the next day they looked so much better! Overall a great product. I will say it does smell a little like a farm because it originally was used for cows during the harsh environment. BAG BALM - Bag Balm Ointment

Vegan 🌱 Hand Cream
Vegan 🌱 Hand Cream
I have used spongelle sponges before and love them. I didn’t know they made hand cream until I received this in a FFF Box. I love the ingredients and that it’s 💯 Vegan 🌱. Key Ingredients~ Macadamia seed oil~Helps soothe dry, crack skin. Also helps soften cuticles. Shea Butter~The high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter ideal for softening skin. Also contains anti-inflammatory properties that can heal dry, cracked skin. Hyaluronic Acid~Is naturally-occuring substance that works to help retain the much-needed moisture in our skin. Argan Oil~The softening properties in argan oil oil are ideal for brittle nails, dry hands and cracked, hard skin on feet. 💡Tip~massage a few drops of argan oil on hands and feet before bed. 💭My Thoughts~I love this hand cream. With all the hand washing/sanitizing I have been going through hand cream like crazy. I have been using this every day since I received it. The consistency is creamy, but light. It absorbs quickly, leaving your skin feeling soft without feeling heavy or leaving a greasy residue behind, that I hate. The coconut Verbena scent is amazing, it’s more of a floral scent than coconut. It’s not overwhelming, very light smell but will linger on your hands. It costs $18.00 but I think it’s worth it and recommend it to try. A small amount on your hands will go along way. SPONGELLÉ - Coconut Verbena Hand Cream #Cheriepartner
