MY CONCEALER TIPS + TRICKS
When I first started wearing makeup, I was only allowed to wear concealer and mascara… As a result, I wore concealer everywhere - practically like a foundation. Now that I have a few years of experience under my belt, I’m a bit better at using concealer - here are my fave tips and tricks for concealer. You can see the difference in my techniques with the triangle vs. normal application. ➡️TIP 1: STOP DOING THE BEAUTY GURU TRIANGLE When I first started watching makeup gurus, I thought that I needed to do the big triangle of concealer on my face too. The thing is, this isn’t something that looks good in real life - it’s much better suited for exaggerated makeup like drag, or for photoshoots where a lot of skin texture gets edited out. When you do the triangle, you apply entirely too much concealer. It’s so much product that it will 100% crease on your undereye and look cakey. Instead, apply just a little bit - you can see in the photo above how much concealer I actually apply in real life. ➡️TIP 2: LET THE CONCEALER SET ON YOUR SKIN BEFORE BLENDING I actually also got this tip from Jackie Aina. I’m not sure exactly how it works, but it makes concealer blend so much better on skin. I think it’s a combination of the concealer warming on skin, but also starting to set at the same time. It makes it so much easier to work with than just putting it on and blending right away. The best part is this doesn’t really take much time to do - if it takes you a few mins to do your brows while you wait for concealer to warm and set, do that. It’s really not any extra time in your routine, but it pays off so well! ➡️TIP 3: BLEND CONCEALER WITH YOUR FINGER Again, this is taking advantage of your skin’s own warmth to help the makeup blend better. I always like to blend my concealer with my ring finger - it just blends and sets so much better than I could ever get with a sponge or brush. I really believe that it’s the warmth of the skin that helps! At the end of the pictures, you can see how the side that I did the triangle method on just doesn’t look good. It creased right away and was just so much product to blend out - I’m pretty sure I just concealed a quarter of my face, but it doesn’t compliment my features at all. In contrast, my undereyes are naturally and lightly concealed on the othe side - and that's the look I prefer on myself. I highly recommend taking a less is more approach with concealer! Just try it - maybe you'll love it and be transformed from a high coverage to a natural coverage girl like I was.

valchemicI’ve been doing the less is more method for a while until I recently noticed the triangle. I haven’t noticed the whole creasing, but I agree with you! The triangle is only a pass for photo shoots and extravagant stuff like that! 😅

This concealer is really good when it comes to blending and is very inexpensive. It’s by Maybelline, and you can get it either from Walmart or Target. I typically use the shade that comes in “cafe”.
5 Steps for Soft and Natural Everyday Makeup 💋
Most days I prefer to go light on makeup if I’m just going out to run a few errands, or doing something casual with friends and family. I have a few key products that I use to help elevate my natural features, ones that I think are the most essential to help us feel more put together. Below are a few of my go to products when I want a fast, easy, and natural makeup look for everyday. You can substitute any of the specific products I mention for your own, these are just what I prefer! 1. BROWS BROWS BROWS Anytime I have nicely groomed and defined brows I immediately feel more confident. There’s something about a nicely fluffed brow that just makes me happy. Not only that, I find that it helps frame the face and adds a bit more definition to the eye area. My current favorite brow routine uses only two products: The Anastasia Brow Wiz and the Anastasia Brow Gel. The Brow Wiz has a very precise pencil tip that helps with shaping my brows and filling them in with small defined strokes, and the gel helps with adding even more definition and shape while making sure they stay put all day. 2. Conceal and Powder Concealer is the most important step to this routine. I focus my concealer application to the center of my face - think under the eyes, around the nose, and chin area. This is where I have the most redness so I focus here and then follow up with some powder. We’re not using a foundation in this routine, but for me the concealer is enough to help even out the skin tone and blend in with the rest of our bare skin, giving a seamless natural look. I’ve been using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and powder for years now, and they never fail me. 3. Rosy Cheeks I find that blush is a very important step after adding all that concealer and powder, which tends to flatten the face a bit. Blush will give your face a fresh look and help in defining facial structure. I don’t focus the product on the apples of my cheeks, I prefer to take it up on my cheekbones and then blend it to the apples just a bit, this defines my cheekbones more than if I only applied to the apples. Currently I’ve been loving the Wet n Wild Color Icon blush. 4. Bronzer This doesn’t serve the purpose you might expect in this particular routine. When I’m in a hurry out the door I don’t bother bronzing my face, but what I will do is put a bit of bronzer in the crease of my eyelids. It’s a quick and easy step that will define the eye and give it a bronzy look. I use the Benefit Hula Bronzer. 5. Maaaaascaraaaaa This speaks for itself. Without mascara my eyes just look incomplete lol. I’ve been loving the Buxom Lash Mascara, it gives my lashes ample volume and length, and opens up my eyes. Bonus (6.): Throw on some lip balm! 💋 I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look at my quick and simple natural everyday makeup routine. Comment below on what your go-to everyday makeup products are, I’d love to know!

I’ve been doing my contour + concealer before my foundation lately and I’m loving how it looks! this method ensures there’s no harsh lines or unblended makeup. I also noticed I use way less foundation since most of the work is already done— 1. I use a dense brush to diffuse the contour by buffing it in small circles. I’ve been using L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer in bronze for yeeeears. I don’t hate it. I’m not obsessed with it either. it’s whatever. 2. I use the pointy end of mybeautyblender - beautyblender Makeup Sponge to blend the concealer in. I love my beauty blender because it makes the makeup look super flawless. I use my b.b. damp, but NOT wet. tarte - Shape Tape Concealer is my HOLY GRAIL concealer and I will never quit using it. I recently stopped setting my under eyes and it’s transformed my makeup routine. 3. lastly, I use the butt end of my sponge and place 1 pump of foundation (L'ORÉAL - Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation ) on it. I stamp it everywhere I didn’t put concealer + contour and it fuses everything together! that’s all for my base. maybe I’ll dust a little highlight on or some cream blush, but other than that, it’s a wrap.

Baby’s First Color-Correcting Palette
Okay, I have never used a color correcting palette before. So, the other day while I was browsing Ulta, I decided to grab a really cheap one. (This is JCat Cosmetics Quad Palette). The photos I’ve posted in order are: during the color correction process (duh), a before photo, two after photos (one with just concealer and bb cream, the other with my regular day to day makeup). Here are my thoughts, this palette is not great. It has a bit of a chalky finish and it takes A LOT to get good coverage (I didn’t expect much since it cost about five bucks and I’ve never heard of this company before). HOWEVER! I do think I will eventually get a better palette, because I did notice some nice differences, particularly with red reduction from the green cream. I just need something that is a little higher quality and that can help tame my very persistent eye circles. Anyone have good recommendations for palettes to try next??

my everyday no makeup makeup look
these drugstore make-up products are simply amazing for a no make-up look. First off let me just say that each of these products was under $10 first is e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer which was $8 at target. this primer keeps my skin nice and poreless. it's silky smooth and feels weightless on my skin. people say it's a dupe for the tatcha silk primer, but I wouldn't know as I've never worn the tatcha primer. next is the MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation i love this foundation, because it's lightweight and breathable. however I only wear this is I'm going out for more than an hour. otherwise I just go foundationless. I got this for $6 at the dollar store. wet n wild - Photo Focus Concealer i pare this with a yellow eyeshadow under my eyes and it conceals the dark circles. again I only use this when going out for more than an hour. I got this for $4 at the dollar store wet n wild - Megaglo Contouring Palette i only contor my crease and nose for everyday looks. this is a great product for contouring and highlighting. so I use the highlighting portion to highlights my T-Zone. I got this for $4 at Target. I have naturally red cheeks. so I don't use a blush for everyday makeup. however I do like thee.l.f. - e.l.f. Round Blush it was only $3 at Target. I only use it for dates, outings, and parties. Coty AIRSPUN - Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage Loose Powder so this setting powder is not my absolute favorite setting powder, but it is a good drugstore setting powder. I got mine at Target for about $6. for eyebrows I just take a eyeshadow close enough to match my eyebrow hair color and I used that to fill in my eyebrows then I set it with a clear brow gel. also I can use this before primer in case the eyeshadow gets too messy. wet n wild - MegaLast Breakup-Proof Black Liquid Eyeliner is simply amazing. I got this for $4 at CVS. most liquid eyeliners have a shiny look to them but this liquid eyeliner is completely matte. MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Colossal Big Shot Washable Mascara I use two coats of this mascara and it does way better then three coats of theSEPHORA COLLECTION - LashCraft Length & Volume Mascara which is a high-end mascara. Maybelline is about $8 and Sephora is $12 MILANI - Bold Color Statement Matte Lipstick the shade color names are simply empowering. I use the shade 04, the name for it is I am strong. it's a peachy nude color. I pair that with the NYX - Butter Gloss in creme brulee. Milani was $7 at CVS and Nick's why $5 Target. to set my makeup I use a simple DIY setting spray which consists of aloe vera gel witch hazel, and water. if you wanted to sent this you could add a few ounces of perfume or some essential oil. this is my go-to everyday drugstore no makeup makeup look. I hope you try out some of these amazing products and DIYs.

Drugstore alert!Super Stay Better Skin Concealer
Overall a really nice formula for a drugstore selection. Texture is creamy, soft, and lightweight. Blends out fairly nicely and comes in a good variety of tones. This brand does lack representation of darker tones and ultra light tones but does offer more selection than some. Retails for $9.99 MAYBELLINE - SuperStay Better Skin Concealer

How to achieve flawless base makeup ☀️☀️
During the summer months, I rarely wear makeup. And when I do I prefer it to feel as light as possible! My preferred makeup look is dewy and glowy as opposed to matte, so I use all cream products for my base. For my primer, I have been using BECCA - Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer . Honestly, I could wear this product alone and be happy with it! It provides a natural shimmer and slight coverage and really makes you glow! After applying this primer I apply my Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint with a damp beautyblender - Classic Makeup Sponge Pink . I have absolutely RAVED on this product before but it really is the perfect face product for summer. The coverage is light to medium, and doesn’t feel like you are actually wearing makeup at all. It hides any redness I have while still allowing my freckles to peek through! These two products help me achieve a natural, glowing look for summer that I have been loving! #CheriePartner
