MAKEUP TIPS FOR LARGE PORES
So, since I have oily skin, my pores tend to be a little larger and more obvious. However, there are a couple tips and tricks to making them look smaller when I put makeup on - here’s how I do it. ➡️ Use a clay mask on the night of your event This is also an important one. It ensures that you don’t have any excess sebum in your pores, making them look larger than they really are. I would highly recommend doing this, especially if you’re doing makeup for a special event and need your pores to look smaller! ➡️ Ensure skin is super hydrated So if your skin is very well-hydrated, it’s going to be much plumper and full of water - this makes pores look smaller as the skin kind of presses together more, reducing the look of pores. If your skin is feeling dry or dehydrated, your pores will look more visible - so ensure your skin is super hydrated. ➡️ Use a pore-filling primer I like to use Maybelline Baby Skin, but there are many filling primers out there! The tip with this type of primer is to tap it into the skin, instead of spreading. It will (temporarily) fill the pores to create a smooth surface that the makeup will go over, creating the illusion of zero pores. Don’t worry, this doesn’t block pores - like the rest of your makeup, if you’re using a proper makeup removal method then you have nothing to worry about. ➡️ Always use a setting powder Setting powder, well, sets your makeup in place AND it helps to minimise the look of pores by creating a matte finish over them. They don’t get a chance to reflect light and show their true texture - making your skin look poreless! HOW TO TREAT PUFFY EYES AT HOME
Here’s one of my favourite ways to prevent and treat puffy eyes - by using a gua sha tool. This is a routine you can do when you get up in the morning or before bed! For me, I tend to get puffy eyes (but not dark circles unless I’m really sleep deprived), especially if I eat salty foods but don't drink enough water.I used to do the cold-spoon trick to reduce puffy eyes, but I’ve found something much better - using a gua sha tool! Originating from China, Gua Sha (literally scraping) is a gentle method of facial massage that focuses on lymphatic drainage using a Gua Sha tool. They come in many shapes and in different materials. My one is from Daiso. You don’t need to apply a lot of pressure when using a gua sha tool, but definitely more than when using a jade roller. Here are my tips for using a gua sha tool to treat puffy eyes! ➡️ Chill it in the fridge before using Using a cold gua sha on the skin is super soothing and helps to get any puffiness to go down faster. I have a specific tupperware to put mine in to ensure it doesn’t get any fridge germs on it that will then go onto my face! ➡️ Use it with a facial oil Half of using a gua sha correctly is using it with a facial oil. It helps the tool to glide nicely on your skin and not pull on it. My favourite oil to use with my gua sha is rosehip oil, but you can use anything that you like. ➡️ Always go from the inside out When using your gua sha, go in strokes from inside to outside. This ensures proper lymphatic drainage to de-puff undereyes (and the rest of your face!)
ECO-FRIENDLY BRANDS: INNISFREE
Innisfree has to be one of the most, if not THE most eco-friendly KBeauty brand out there (that I know of) if I’m honest, I don’t keep up with Kbeauty much these days as I tend to prefer products from Jbeauty brands. However, Innisfree seems super eco friendly, especially when it comes to their skin care - many of the ingredients are actually locally sourced to reduce their carbon foot print and support local industry. Personally, I like that they have an eco-friendly attitude without compromising on delivering quality makeup! Depending on your country they also have an empty container recycling program. The specific rewards you get vary by country but I think it’s a great way to get consumers involved in this initiative! My favourite makeup items from them have to be the Skinny Microliner and No Sebum Powder. ➡️ Skinny Microliner Review: I have them in black and brown. The narrow tip makes it easy to line my waterline, which is how I usually use these. They also last for a long time and don’t smudge! I like that they don’t require sharpening - when you see pencils made of plastic to sharpen, that’s quite bad for the environment as those little plastic shards can’t be recycled. When you return this entire packaging back to Innisfree, they can break it down and remake it into any product they need. ➡️ No Sebum Powder: I prefer Asian setting powders because they’re so much better than the Western ones that i’ve tried. For a simple look, I’ll just put this over my sunscreen to help my skin stay matte all day, but it’s also great for setting makeup too. I really like this one and it actually lasts a long time despite the smaller packaging (which again, is more eco-friendly since it’s technically less plastic)

NOT ALL GLASS NAIL FILES ARE GOOD!
Normally, I LOVE glass nail files - I think they’re a must have in your at-home manicure kit because they’re so gentle on natural nails. I broke my Manicare brand glass nail file a while ago, and saw a cheaper replacement at Farmers from a brand called Simply Essential so I thought why not give them a try? Unfortunately, I found their glass files to be really bad compared to what I was used to. ‼️ IT DIDN’T DO ANYTHING ‼️ It literally didn’t even file my nails down! The problem with the SE Glass File was that it was too fine grit to do ANYTHING on my nails. I was sitting there, filing my nails and thinking, wow, this is taking a while to actually take down my nails. That’s because it wasn’t actually DOING anything to take my nails down. Rather, my nails were wearing the GLUED-ON grit on the glass down and creating a really gross glue/burnt hair smell. GROSS. In the photos, you can see the difference between the SE file and the Manicare file. The SE file is clearly some fine grit sandpaper glued onto glass, while the Manicare file is an entire piece of glass - nothing glued on. The bottom line? If you’re in NZ, choose the Manicare glass file over the Simply Essentials one. You’ll have better nails in the long run and won’t have wasted your money!!
10 MINUTE NATURAL MAKEUP LOOK
I’ve finally got my 10-minute makeup look down - it’s pretty close to a no-makeup makeup look, but that’s why I like it. It’s hard to tell that I’m wearing makeup in the first place, but I know that I definitely look a little more polished than if I was barefaced. One of my tips for having a fast makeup routine is using a sunscreen that doubles as primer - it means you don’t have to apply primer as a separate step, speeding up the process! Here’s the order I apply my 10-minute routine in: ➡️ Foundation I use a thinnish layer of Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation, applying with the ELF Selfie Brush. This brush alone makes the process so quick - it blends foundation out so quickly! I apply a thinner layer so that any redness is hidden on my skin, but my natural freckles still show through. This isn’t a high coverage routine, and for on the go, this foundation is matte enough to go without powder. wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation e.l.f. - Selfie Foundation Blurring Brush ➡️ Eyes I love using bronzer as eyeshadow because it adds a little definition to the eyes, without needing the precision of a proper eyeshadow look. I like to use Nars Laguna, and I’ve also combined it with mascara to open up my eye. If there’s one step I never skip, it’s mascara! It helps my eyes look much more awake and makes the biggest difference in this look. NARS - Blush/Bronzer Duo L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ➡️ Brows I’ll fill in my brows a little bit, but a too-defined brow doesn’t suit the more natural nature of this look. I use a micropencil like the one from Maybelline, then set my brows with a brow gel. Lately, I’ve been using the Benefit 24hr Brow setter! I actually don’t like Brow Setter that much, it’s much wetter than I prefer for a brow gel. I find I can easily accidentally put too much on at once so I have to be careful. To make this routine even speedier (if I’m short on time) I would use a tinted brow gel so that there’s colour added to the brow without needing to use a pencil! MAYBELLINE - Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil benefit - 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel ➡️ Lips In the interest of speed, I also don’t use a coloured lip product - I’ll just go for lip gloss or lip balm. LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm It’s a really understated look, but for me it’s enough to feel more polished and ready for the world in just ten minutes! :)

COOL TONED NAILS (PERFECT FOR SCORPIOS)
Here’s the thing as a Scorpio - everyone expects us to like black or super dark nails because we’re ~mysterious~ and spooky. Most Scorpios (including myself) also have a soft side and I like using my nail polish to express this. We’re also a little cold and standoffish, so I’ll go with a cool, but soft shade today - OPI Icelanded a Bottle of OPI It’s a cool-toned taupe-grey - it’s not a cute, sweet pink that might suit another star sign better. As always, I put on a coat of Duri Rejuvacote before two coats of polish, then Essie Gel Setter. This combination hasn’t let me down yet! Icelanded a Bottle of OPI is perfectly flawless in two coats and I’ve gotten up to two weeks of wear (especially with base and top coat) out of it. I like it better than gel since I can actually take it off whenever I want and just put it back on again (if I want!) I’m a practical Scorpio (I’ve outgrown having long nails) so I’ve painted my natural nails. I like to keep them at a natural, rounded shape. Just in case I have to help my friend bury a body or something… Just kidding! ;) duri - Rejuvacote 1 Nail Growth System OPI - Long Lasting Nail Polish Infinite Shine 2 essie - Gel Setter Top Coat

The two products that saved my nails!
Hi pals! Today I want to share how I keep my nails in tip top shape and super strong! First and foremost, eating habits matter! If you’re not eating healthy, your nails likely will be brittle and weak, whereas if you’re eating a healthy diet, you’ll automatically be helping your nails! Apart from that, don’t bite your nails! I used to bite them whenever I was stressed when I was younger, and that led them to always being weak and breaking easily. Once I quit that habit, my nails have started growing much stronger and thicker! Now, onto the products, BURT’S BEES - Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme I love to rub this creme into my nails and cuticles about once a week, usually after using an acetone nail polish remover to add back some moisturize to my nail beds. This smells really good too and always helps my cuticles looking their best! I also don’t cut my cuticles or push them back, which also helps everything look nice and neat. JULEP - Super-Size Take A Breather Oxygen Nail Treatment this is a paint-on treatment that’s supposed to add back oxygen and moisture to your nails, and though i haven’t seen long term effects from this product, I always like to apply this polish after removing acrylic nails or gel polish. Usually I apply two layers and it leaves a nice pink sheen to my nails while also helping them repair the surface! Finally, I use nail cutters and a small file to keep the shape of my nails neat - make sure to only file in one direction, not back and forth to prevent any breakage! #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Love this affordable baby
the ordinary serum foundation👩🏼🎨 today’s review is all about this affordable foundation - $6.70 for 30ml. it’s cheaper than even drug store foundations, but how does it perform, you ask? here’s the 🏃🏽♀️rundown. spoiler alert, 🥺I love it. this serum is a very light, almost watery consistency (SWIPE for video). it is light-medium coverage on it’s first layer, but is easily buildable to achieve a more full coverage glam look. it does not oxidize. it leaves a dewy finish and (paired with a setting powder and spray,) stays in its place. it applies flawlessly with a beauty blender and doesn’t cling to dry areas or finish streaky. it does not break me out (elf blemish control primer, also $6, helps with this and works beautifully under this foundation). I am admittedly not much of a makeup person, besides some brow gel on a daily basis, I only do makeup 1-2 times a month.. therefore, splurging on a $70 foundation from Sephora which will go bad before I’m even 1/2 done isn’t an option. 💩 this foundation is truly a perfect fit for me. it’s simple, easy to use and apply, and affordable. It comes with a pump, but I purchased the serum dropper for $0.90 because the pump made the foundation come out so fast because it’s so thin, and it splashed off the back of my hand and went everywhere ☔️ I have this in 2 pasty shades - 👼🏻Really Pasty for the winter months (shade called 1.0 NS) and I just picked up a 👼🏼Slightly Less Pasty shade for my fake-tanned summer skin (pictured, shade 1.1 N). My first bottle I was colour-matched in store at deciem , and this time I just winged it TL;DR ☕️ 10/10 love this affordable baby and will keep repurchasing.
GO-TO PARTY HAIRSTYLE🥳
it’s party time which to me means CURLS!😝 Now I have naturally very straight silky hair, so trying to hold a curl in my hair is a struggle so I like doing this hair on second day hair 😋 for this look, two products I think that makes these curls look more like waves (which I love) are IGK - Beach Club Texture Spray & the OUAI - OUAI Wave Spray And of course the main tool is my straightener! p/y/t BEAUTY - Ceramic Styling Tool- Straightener which ive been using for years and it does everything! Love these two! I just started using the texturizing sparky so I’m still playing with it, but I enjoy the grit it gives this look! And the wave slay is like a no brainer, but I don’t need much for this look to hold!👍🏽 STEPS we start by separating the hair itself into sections and I start with the bottom section which I then split down the middle and start with one half grab your straightener and make sure you reuse it away from the face for each strand (dont alternate for this seamless look) when curing the hair, start at the top, twist the straightener once away from the face, pull down and as you slowly reach the end, twist one more and then straighten out the ends for the soft beachy look and then repeat for the other side by curling the hair the opposite direct yet still away from the face until your whole head is finished run your fingers through after the curls have cooled, throw in some texture spray (hairspray too if you need it) & wave spray, scrunch it snd mess with it till your happy & that’s it! This is my go to look especially when I’m going out for parties! It’s so effortless and beautiful and truly last into the next day and end up looking better after being slept on!💘
