Hi everyone! This is my first time posting on here so I’m not too sure if anyone will actually read this but if anyone does, I would really appreciate the advice! I recently purchased the Cerave PM moisturizer because the ingredients seemed amazing and I was super excited. I love the texture and really enjoy applying this but for some reason it has been causing me a lot of redness (specifically around my cheeks and nose). I also feel minor stinging and tenderness to the touch. I’m not too sure why this could be as most of the ingredients are already familiar to my skin (I’ve been using hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in the morning for months). In case there is another red flag in my routine that could be causing this, I can share current PM skincare routine! • LUSH - Ultrabland I use this as a cleansing balm on nights when I double cleanse (I know it’s not the best but I want to finish my tub before buying a new one). •DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser I don’t mind this but I think I’d like to try out a more gentle cleanser once I run out of this! •The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' I really enjoy this serum but I’m not too sure if I’ve seen many results after using it for about 2 months. •The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Amazing for under eyes! • CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Still figuring out if my skin can handle this but I was previously using The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and I really enjoy this moisturizer, but I think I would prefer a gel consistency similar to the Cerave one. •The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I don’t fully know what this does for my skin but I absolutely love using it. It has never clogged my pores or caused me to be more oily in the morning like other oils have. Not to mention how amazing it feels on your skin! Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to try to help!
The dynamic duo that saved my skin!
When I was struggling with breakouts and severe hyperpigmentation I was using a lot of harsh products that eventually destroyed my skins moisture barrier. This left me with dry and super flakey skin, but once I got my hands on these two products my skin was able to heal and bring itself back to life! (You can see the difference in my first post) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 This serum is my Holy grail I’ve gone through about 4 bottles and I do not intend to stopping. It quickly absorbs into the skin and leaves behind no residue. It’s also has no smell which I love. Most importantly it hydrates my dehydrated skin, decreasing the amount of oil my skin produces. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil This oil is another Holy grail, it’s not super thick or oily and it’s also easily absorbs into the skin. I feel like it locks in all my products and leaves me glowing. It’s also helped with evening out my skin tone and is light enough to use underneath sunscreen. I 100% recommend this for my melanin beauties who want to even out their tone. Have you guys tried these products? What did you think?
I can’t believe how my skin changed. 😨
I am the type of person who always think the worse, and I really thought that I was not going to get better. -Thanks for reading me in advance- 💖 JUST TO LEAVE SOMETHING CLEAR I HAVE A COMBINATION TYPE OF SKIN. SO THIS MIGHT NOT WORK FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TYPE OF SKIN. Current morning routine: - I wash my face with Aveeno - Positively Radiant, Micellar Gel Cleanser I found out gels cleansers works better for my type of skin, it doesn’t leave my face too dry and neither too oily. - I use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water it hydrates my face so well as cleaning any residue. 😋 - I let it dry and then I use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I pat it with my hands into my face for a better absorption. - I then proceed to spray my face with GARNIER - SkinActive Balancing Facial Mist with Green Tea I use the aloe Vera and I found out it makes the serum absorbs better and deeper into my skin. 🙂 - I proceed to use my CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion for the day? Yes. Cuz my face works better if I put a moisturizer and a sunscreen separately 😅 - I then use CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 for Body with Zinc Oxide I found out it leaves me looking like a ghost 😳 but it works as a color correction, I am able to cover my scars better by only using my bb cream After the sunscreen. For night time routine: I do the same cleansing method as my morning routine, the only difference is that instead of putting Niacinamide I put The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% for my dark spots and scars. I, of course, skip sunscreen but I do add a benzoyl spot treatment Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Spot Treatment Cream For any blemishes or future blemishes that I can spot. 🤪 I also use 2x a week a chemical peeling The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for my scars and acne. And a masque The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque cuz I am acne prone skin and this works wonderfully for me. :) • I really encourage you to inform yourself about your type of skin and the really good ingredients that can favor your skin problem. • Learning about the ingredients that helps an specific skin care problem, really changed my skin care routine game. I am more able to spot a good skin care product by only checking the ingredients section, instead of wasting my money into a product that might or might not help me. :) You are so nice if you finished reading me. 🥺💖 Enjoy your day! 💖🥰
Help-I don’t know what to do!
Please help! I need some advice, I have used the same couple products for over a year- CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Witch Hazel Toner, and Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer I would break out from time to time (due to hormones and touching my face at work, I think) so I recently introduced some new products into my routine. I started using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for acne The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%for a few dark spots I have on my hairline and Hylamide - Pore Flush for blackheads on my nose. I have noticed my skin has only gotten worse. I have a few little pimples on my nose and around my eyebrows and has developed some cystic acne on my chin. Should I stop using the new products or continue using them and see if they help? I have been using the new products for about two and half weeks now.
Hello! I’m in need of urgent assistance. I’ve done absolutely everything I can think of and I don’t have the money to continue spending on expensive products that don’t work! I used to have very bad cystic acne and am now on medication for that. Right now, I’m dealing with fungal acne on the forehead, and some persistent pimples along my cheeks and by my nose and chin. I have oily/combo skin, primarily in the T-zone and I’m a college student, so my under eye bags are awful. I have pictures of my morning routine and my nighttime routine. Please help and give suggestions on what products I should discard/keep or which products I should try!! Thanks so much!
THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. 🧐
Hey girl hey! So you wanna know the tea, the truth, hand on bible word of God, about this tik tok famous product The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ? Well girl you have come to the right place. I’ll tell ya how I use it, how long I use it and the pros and cons imo. But before I dive in.... PLEASE HIT THAT FOLLOW BUTTON SIS and give ya girl a cheer! LYLAS4eva if you do. ❤️ also if you want more content, follow my IG and tik tok @bealizbeauty. K. Now that I shamelessly plugged my social media accounts, here’s the lowdown on this product. Honestly, this product has 100% changed my skin for the better BUT there are some big things to get to used to if you are up for it. No tea no shade to those who don’t want to put up with its con because the con of this “perfect” product is a pretty big con. 1. How I use it: I used this product after I cleanse my skin with DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil and I use this 2x a week on Sundays and Wednesdays. (If you want to see an in-depth skincare routine, lmk in the comments below.) Do not use this product more than 2x a week! The bottle says so! 2. How long I use it: ONLY 10 MINS! Literally follow the bottle instructions. They are there for a reason. Do not leave this on longer than that. I haven’t tried it but I don’t think it helps your skin for the better. 3. Pros: Literally dark spots who? I’ve tried everything under the sun to lighten up my dark spots and none of those products have helped lighten and get rid of my dark spots better than this product. Goodbye Acne scars! Honestly I am notorious for popping pimples and picking at my scabs. DO NOT DO THIS. I’m a creature of habit and honestly am trying to grow out of this. But this product helps with my acne scars! It shrinks the scars and scabs that there basically is nothing left for me to pick at. 4. Con: OOOOO THIS PRODUCT BURNS. I’m on my 2nd bottle and this still stings my face. The sting of this product is NO JOKE. If you have sensitive skin, I definitely do not recommend this product. My skin is made of Teflon so I’m used to the sting but it does get to me sometimes. After some high level research, Lactic acid is a great alternative. I am a huge proponent for The Ordinary as a brand so this The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA might be a pretty good alternative. So that’s the tea of this product. I’m on bottle #2 and it is one of my holy grail products. But I totally understand the aversion of this product. Let me know in the comments below what your experience has been if you have tried this product and if there are other products you have tried that has been a good alternative! LYLAS! Xoxo. UPDATE: THE LOVE ON THIS POST HAS BEEN AWESOME YALL! I really appreciate it. I’ve been trying to break into the beauty game for a while but had no success on YT or IG. All I ask is to check out my other posts and give them the same love! I’ll LYLAS4EVA! Thanks y’all! 💋
You shouldn't be too demanding when you're using The Ordinary's products
The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA 10% Peptide + Hyaluronic Acid Essence $19.90 (left) The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA It has a thick consistency and requires more massaging for it to be absorbed. The moisturizing effect is minimal, so you would need to use another moisturizing serum before this. The facial cream should also be a moisturizing cream or else it won't be moisturizing enough. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 10% Lactic Acid + Hyaluronic Acid Exfoliating Serum $12.70 (right) The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA Lactic acid is relatively mild among all the acids, but the 10% concentration may lead to skin intolerance. That's why I added it into the body lotion I use and made sure my skin could tolerate it before using it on my face. The serum has a light texture and is very runny. I found that after adding it to my body lotion that is thicker in consistency, the lotion became easier to absorb. I personally think that you shouldn't be too demanding when you're using The Ordinary's products since they're not that expensive.
An eye serum worth researching
This serum works to reduce the look of both static and dynamic wrinkles. I add a drop under each eye and bring upwards towards the crows feet area. It targets wrinkles by moisturizing with hyaluronic acid. When you first put it on it feels sticky but is quickly absorbed into my skin so it doesn’t leave a residue. Although I use this to prevent wrinkles, I feel like my eyes are a lot brighter and less dull. I love the bottle it comes in and how it’s not really a common product. I highly recommend adding this to your skincare routine. And a plus, it’s super cheap!! 5/5 ✨
This diminished my dark spots
For years I had acne and I constantly picked my face so bad that it left scarring, dark spots and uneven skin tone. I've tried several different products, methods and regimens and nothing seemed to be working until I found the right regimen. I started using these products back in December and not only has it diminished my dark spots but it has made my face brighter, even and overall just healthier. I use the glow tonic after cleansing, the lactic acid , b oil then the suspension. I do however alternate with those products one day and the glowrecipe overnight mask on another day. If your having a hard time finding the right products for your issues don't get discouraged just try different methods and products until you find what's best for you, nothing happens overnight. Not only are these products great but you can't beat the unbelievably low prices.
The Ordinary-"B" Oil
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% +HA peeling solution . If your skin is on the sensitive side or like me you’re looking for a more gentle AHA whilst using retinoids then this is the one ! This formulation contains 10% Lactic Acid and 2% hyaluronic acid to offer gentle exfoliation, it also contains Tasmanian Pepperberry to reduce any inflammation or sensitivity that are often associated with AHA’s . This leaves my skin soft and supple with any textural irregularities solved . I apply this after cleansing and toning before heavier serums and it fits in my routine perfectly ☺️ safe to say this has become a staple in my routine , I shall continue to use this going forward . It’s gentle enough to use every evening if you wish , I usually use this 2 -3 x a week and that’s been working really well for my skin . I will probably still use the AHA peeling solution once in a while when needed. But once a month tops for me . 🦋

【1+1>2】My New Spring Routine
First to introduce my skin type, I am combination. Tzone can be oily, occasionally has acne issues. Here is the new routine I am on recently. 【 The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 2% 】+ 【 indeed Retinal Reface 】 💙Niacinamide is great for hydration, recovery, as well as balancing the skin tone and control acne issue. Zinc is really good to help with control the oily face, so TO serum is great for oily face in general. If your skin is very dry normally you might want to add a good hydranating product as well. 💛Retinal is THE ANTI-AGING gold. Retinal anti-aging works the most efficiently when together with niacinamide. In addition, niacinamide helps with developing skin’s tolerance to retinal as well. So 1+1>2! However, please make sure only use this combination during night time. Retinal makes skin sensitive towards sunlight so avoid use it in morning. Also you should use sunblocks in the morning if you used Retinal product during the night time. Niacinamide is fine in day time but still make sure use that darn sunblocks!! If your skin type is sensitive, you can start with something that has less niacinamide (3%-5%) than the TO serum. 10% can be pretty intense for anyone who didn't use niacinamide before.
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
*ascorbic acid + alpha arbutin : I keep my routine simple when I use this product to avoid reactions and let it do its job. My stubborn dark marks have been fading with consistent use of this and a few other products :) *rosehip oil: This oil takes a minute to sink in, but it absorbs well into skin even as the last step. I’m less oily when I use this product and it layers well with my moisturizer without making my face look greasy. If it doesn’t work for your face, consider using it for your body or the heels of your feel. That’s how I made sure to empty it :) I usually only use a small amount of products on my face in order to avoid piling, so it takes me a long time to fully empty any product besides a sunscreen. *mandelic acid: this acid is really good for my sensitive skin. I use it whenever I have hormonal breakout or just need a little boost for my skin. Even though it is a gentle acid, I try to avoid overusing it so that it won’t dry me out again.

HELP! 🙏 ISO: THE PERFECT ORDINARY REGIMEN
Hey Friend 🌸 I NEED YOUR HELP 👇 I just did my very first The Ordinary haul and I’m trying to decipher acids and ingredients and recommendations and directions. Here are the products I’ve purchased and why I’ve purchased it: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Intended Uses: Pores, Blemishes The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% Intended Uses: Dark Spots, Tone, Aging The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Intended Uses: Complextion/Tone, Irregularities I plan on using the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionin the PM, as recommended. However, I noticed the The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%conflicts with Niacinamide, so I can’t use it with my The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%as I had originally planned. THE QUESTION: If I use one in the morning, and one in the evening, will they still be conflicting? What in these serums are conflicting? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! ✨🙏👇
The Ordinary-Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
Does this really work?
I just started using this about a few days ago and let me say first off, I feel like it IS making a difference in my skin but I’ve also seen some changes. I’m not sure if it’s just me or..? But I feel like when I put it on and it dries I rub it a little more in and some dead skin comes off, hadsthis happened to anyone..? or maybe my face is just dry. And I’ve seen a few small whiteheads pop up here and there and I was wondering if the serum is pushing out all the yuckiness and “purging” because they aren’t big whiteheads that come and go. It only started when I started using this product. :)
