Products that helped my acne
I’ve struggled with acne since 7th grade (I’m 20 now). I have used a lot of products and there are a handful I want to share that have really helped me get closer to my clear skin goal. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this is by far the best product I’ve ever used. My skin looks smoother and my acne has subsided tremendously. I can’t get enough of this. (I use it twice a week, working up to three). I really do believe this product is essential for clearer skin! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin this moisturizer has been my go to for about 5 years. It always keeps my skin hydrated and really helped when I was on acne prescriptions because my skin would always get really dry. Curology - Curology formula I have a whole post dedicated to this, but it really did help me a lot. I like having dermatologist prescriptions over other treatments. So, this was a great option for me and worked wonders! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I used to use the harshest face washed out there and strip my skin completely. This cleanser really helped me repair my moisture barrier and was gentle. My skin started looking really good after about 12 uses of this. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this stuff is a miracle in a bottle!! My face is way less sensitive and my oils are under control. The redness from my acne subsides with the help of this product and I find it to help my acne heal and become smaller faster. Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment this treatment really helped me when I had minimal breakouts. This dried out my pimples over night and helped them go away faster. This was a really nice treatment and I plan on using it again when my face is clearer and I no longer feel the need to continue curology!!
How I Cleared My Acne in 3 MONTHS!!!
I‘ve struggled with cystic hormonal acne for years, but when I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer, I didn’t imagine I’d experience the worst breakout of my 27 years of life... I was so overwhelmed and stressed, that I honestly forgot all about my skincare until it looked like this! And just like breast cancer, cystic acne hurts physically and mentally, but I had to regain control. I couldn’t control what was happening to me, but I could refocus, change my perspective, and restart my skincare routine 😅 Then I was gifted this medically personalized product to try and this is was my three month progress! 👏🏼✨ It’s different for everyone, but I noticed a difference in my skin after 4 weeks of consistent use. I’d say, it’s definitely worth a try, so I’ll leave a link to a 1-month trial for $4.95! http://curolo.gy/RebeccaSantos (No, I don’t get commission or any form of payment for this post or if you use my link.) The thought of having your own personalized formula is awesome! I was super excited to see what it could do for me. My skin is not necessarily acne prone, but I have plenty clogged pores, blockheads and scarring that I wanted to focus on. I used this for a little over 2 months, sent the selfies & followed every step. I was not seeing a positive change in my skin, if anything, it got worse after the purging. It seemed like my skin purged and then stayed that way. I had acne like I had never had before. I wanted to chat with them about it, they changed my formula and sent the new bottle. I used that for about a week before I decided to test it and not use it for a week. My skin starting clearing and looking better, until I started using it again. Needless to say this was NOT for me! Everyone’s skin is different and there are tons of success stories with Curology! Personally, I think it is more geared towards regular everyday acne prone skin and I simply need more products to treat my specific issues.
Acne Control Facial Moisturizer
hello all! 💓 so i’m not crazy about Kiehls because they have fragrance in a lot of their products and I generally stay away from that but I LOVE this moisturizer! the downsides are few- just that its $48 which is too expensive for most people and the percentage of salicylic acid is pretty high for daily use all over your face (1.5%). if you have dry skin, I think I’d steer clear 👀 i’ve been using this on and off for at least half a year and every time I use it, my acne seems to become much less inflamed very quickly! the texture is a lightweight cream but feels super hydrating nonetheless 🌟 I mentioned earlier there are usually fragrances in Kiehl’s products but this one doesn’t have any! 🎉 this product was mainly formulated to clear and prevent acne and I think it does the job well! I’d highly recommend this to someone whose skin doesn’t dry up easily or has hydrating serums! 🥰 Kiehl's - Breakout Control Acne Treatment Facial Lotion

Mario Badescu’s drying lotion—not for me
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned in other reviews, but I have highly acne prone skin. I tend towards blemishes weekly, and not the small type, but the large, gross, volcano type. For a while I used all the over the counter serums, creams, and anything in general I could find, even some zit patches I found in Amsterdam on my trip there. This “lotion” has a very mattefying and crusty look/feel after application. Kind of expected, due to it’s name and purpose—drying, to dry out the pimple so it secretes the puss and gets bacteria out. When I used this, it was not my thing. My pimples were just not changing, no matter what I did with this product. The only factor that was changed was the redness, but they were still just as humongous and pus-filled. I’ve heard others rave about this product, such as my sister and mother. I think it works best on smaller breakouts, and I suppose certain types of skin. I would recommend MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion to people who have less acne and less dramatic breakouts. Not to somebody like me with giant zit syndrome. It lasts so long, though, that the price is definitely worth it. So, just be cautious of your skin type and how it varies. though I’ve seen a lot of success on others, it’s just not beneficial to me.

FAB for a reason!!
First Aid Beauty is one of the first beauty brands I began using when I decided to take my skin’s health seriously. The FAB acne clearing pads is the first product I purchased from the brand and has been a game changer in my skincare routine. The key ingredient is the salicylic acid that targets any excess oil production and diminishes whiteheads. The Oil Mattifying Gel has been my summer staple and kept my skin balanced. Now I will be honest and say that although this product works well, there are other gel moisturizers that I would reach for first because of how well they worked with my skin. Both products retail for $30, however I scored them at Marshalls for $10 each. I do feel that $30 is pricey for an average gel moisturizer, so I would only purchase it if it were on sale. But, I would DEFINITELY recommend purchasing the Acne Clearing Pads at retail price because they are THAT worth it!

What was your first "luxury" skin product you used? I spent my teen years using all the different acne options at various drug stores and grocery stores. And hey! A lot of them worked really well (I still use a bunch of them to this day). . But I will never forget when I first used this moisturizer (the original formula) and realizing there was no going back. I was going to explore the whole world of beauty and skincare to find something to help my cystic acne and scarring BE GONE. So I have a weird affinity to Hope In A Jar by Philosophy because they were my first luxurious facial product. . Beyond the nostalgia of this cream, it also is a great everyday moisturizer. I put it on in the morning under my makeup. The SPF 30 is a must. It has a triple-blend of AHA's and keeps my skin nice and soft throughout the day.

jumiso- AC Cure No Pain No Gain Spot Cream Description | • Botanical ingredient-based Silica penetrates deep into the skin to effectively deliver active ingredients. • Firmly massage the cream into the skin as if directly sensing its permeation. Impression | Decent-looking cream that actually gave me stinging sensation for hours. Thoughts | • After trying this spot cream for several times, I've figured out how to best use it on my acne spot! I'd be applying this right after cleansing as per instruction without spreading it well on the spot area and apply the rest of my skincare while skipping the spot. Once I'm done applying my regular moisturiser, only then I'd gently and carefully spread the spot cream. • This is to avoid the silica-containing spot cream to spread around my facial area which was so irritating for 2 days after that. Overall, I give this cream 4/5. It works superbly but definitely do a patch test before using it. This spot cream might further trigger other sensitive area so please proceed with care and read the instruction properly. I'd definitely be repurchasing but this one goes a little for a long way hence the 15g size.
