TikTok Beauty Hacks: Ponytail Curls 🌀💗
This is a hack that I was extremely eager to try because I have always had the THICKEST hair! I always avoid curling with a curling iron because it takes at least 45 minutes to curl all the layers and it just ends up being exhausting, so I was very skeptical as to whether this would work on my hair. This hair trick is super simple, just put your hair up in a ponytail at the top of your head (the higher the better!), and curl the pieces of the ponytail. I just used an old Conair curling wand that I’ve had forever. It literally took me 5 minutes!! I cannot believe it. The curls aren’t perfect but this is 1000x easier than the way I used to curl my hair. I definitely recommend this technique for fast and easy curls!

I can’t live without a good lip liner 💋
A lip liner is ESSENTIAL in my makeup routine when I’m wearing makeup. In recent years, the definition of my lips has been fading and a lip liner is crucial for me as a tool to help me through applying a lipstick or lip gloss. As you can see above in my before/after picture, it makes a WORLD of a difference since you can actually see where my lips begin and end LOL. Depending on the look I’m going for, I’ll use different shades but “going steady” by Essence essence - Soft Contouring Lipliner has been my go-to for SO LONG! This is the PERFECT lip liner (the texture is a bit matte but it’s not too drying) since it’s so buildable and it lasts forever. Best part? It’s $2!!!! WHAT!!! Yep. The only downside I’d say is that it’s a true lip pencil so you have to use a sharpener when it’s too dull...but that doesn’t bother me, I’d rather pay $2 than $20+ for a twisty lip liner. I recommend trying this formula if you’re in the market for something new! I usually top it off with a tinted lip balm or lip oil and it lasts at least 5 hours. I have to rate it 5/5 for my amazing experience!

March Boxycharm: Hit or Miss?
|| BOXYCHARM - HELLO, CHARMER PALETTE First impression of this palette was a good one, I liked the color story and the eyeshadows themselves looked quite beautiful. When I started swatching them however, I was disappointed. The glitter shades are surprisingly chunky and are not opaque, while the mattes are a bit chalky. There’s one beautiful buttery gold shade called Luxe and one matte shade called Unboxing that is gorgeous. This product retails at $39 and I absolutely do not think it’s worth it. ||Murad - Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture For Eyes I just started using this eye cream but right off the bat it is a little heavier than what I’m used to. There’s no harsh smell and I have noticed that it keeps my under eyes very hydrated with no bad reaction from my skin. It claims to lock in moisture and smooth fine lines so I can attest to the hydration but I need a little more time to see some change with my under eye lines. Not sure it’s worth the $70 price tag but it’s definitely not the worst eye cream I’ve ever used. ||APPEAL - Mood Ultra Creme Lipstick This lipstick is quite creamy and it sits very comfortably on my lips. It doesn’t last as long as a matte lipstick or a liquid lipstick would but I guess that’s the price you pay for the comfort. I wouldn’t mind paying the $21 price tag for this, especially because the packaging is so cute! ||KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Signature Brow Precision Pencil This product disappointed me the most out of all. I received this product in the color blonde when my brow hair is dark brown so it’s rendered unusable to me for that. However, even if I could use it, it just seems very dry and the pencil tip was hard and not a great shape. At $22 I don’t think it is worth it. Anastasia Brow Wiz is $21 and is a far better product in my opinion. ||BECCA - Ultimate Lip Definer My favorite thing in the whole box. Came in the color Charming and it’s the perfect everyday color for those with a deeper tone. Very creamy, glides nicely along your lips with no tugging or skipping. Definitely worth the $18!!
BOXYCHARM-HELLO, CHARMER PALETTE
All my FAV SINGLE eyeshadows👀
TOM FORD - Cream & Powder Eye Color Duo COLOR: Golden Peach - shadow: warm rose, cream: pale pink $80 CAD This palette contains: - 0.24 oz Base Eye Color - 0.07 oz Eye Color This is a two-tiered eye palette with two coveted formulas (creamy & powder eye colour) to create a lustrous and seductive eye look. Honestly I never imagine myself spending this much on a single color eyeshadow. The fact is, this is one of my top ranking cream based eyeshadow - the colour, the staying power and the formula is amazing. My friend got the same one, I cannot get my eyes of her every time she wears this. After 3rd time asking what brand is she wearing, I finally decide to have it in my collection. Luckily, I'm glad I bought it. The pressed glitter has a nice soft powder formula creamy and great pigment. You can easily apply it on the lid with your finger and it adds the prettiest gentle glitter finish. It’s true that it is expensive. Trust me, this is the product that worth the investment BOBBI BROWN - Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow Bobbi Brown Luxe Eye Shadow Rich Gemstone- Opal Moonstone $38 CAD Bobbi brown nails this luxe eye shadow. The formula with multidimensional pearlescent pigments to give eyes a glossy, mirror-shine effect that lasts up to 8 hours without creasing or fading. It’s very adaptable. You can layering shades on any of your warm tone eyeshadow to create a finish look by adding the shine. A little goes a long way, it's super easy to blend, and it stays all day. It helped me achieve a mature, not chunky-sparkly, but shimmery shiny eyelids. COLOURPOP - Sequin $ 5 USD Vegan& Cruelty free Size 0.074 oz Absolutely love this formula and color - amazing! Goes on super smoothly without tugging, the pigment is gorgeous, no creasing, and it lasts. Colourpop is popular for their formula and pigment. Especially the price. I got it years ago when it’s on sale for buy 1 get 1 free. I ended with a dozen of eyeshadows and I love everyone of them. This color sequin has that beautiful tiny glitter that pops your eyes when you wear it. Most suitable for Autumn makeups. COLOURPOP - jelly much shadow #COLOURPOP – #Cameo COLOUR POP SUPER STAR LOOSE PIGMENT $5 USD Vegan& Cruelty free Size 0.074 oz Cameo is a bright, orange-coral with flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. I use both as eyeshadows and blushes. It has the highest concentration of ultra-fine pigments, pearls and glitter to deliver extra dimensional color and shine. One thing I do not like about this is it’s loose powder and can easily get messy every time applying it. Overall, I love color pop all the eyeshadows are beautiful and in expensive. The quality for the price is in real. It doesn’t hurt to have a bunch of them as collection. However, I have to say my favorite is TOMFORD. You can feel the difference of texture and formula when applying it on your lids and it last all day.

A Dupe For The Fresh Rose Deep Toner?
[Review] The Plant Base Mielrose Petal Essence Key Ingredients: Damask Rose Extract, Honey Extract and French Rose Petal Flower Claims: Moisturise and nourish skin and helps with anti-aging and pigmentation Firstly, does this not remind you of the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner, even the scent is quite similar 🤣 Nethertheless, the infused hand-picked damasked rose petals is so gorgeous. I love how it is an ‘essence’ inside a mist bottle. This makes it so much more convenient and easier to apply. It has that very obvious and typical rose scent. I do wish that the scent was more subtle. The essence disperses finely at first but, once it starts to absorb into your skin. It slowly transform into a slightly thicker consistency. It also forms a very thin occlusive layer. I like how it hydrates and moisturises my skin simultaneously. My skin instantly felt supple and plump. Surprisingly, my skin didn’t feel dehydrated or tight by the end of the day. The ingredient list is minimal and, honey was the stand out ingredient for me. In comparison to the fresh rose toner, the plant base version is more hydrating and viscous. The consistency of the fresh rose toner is watery and thin. I found that with the fresh toner once it fully absorbed the hydration sort of disappears. Also, fresh contains fragrance so, the rose scent is a lot stronger. Overall, I much prefer the plant base rose essence because, there is no added fragrances and it feels more hydrating and nourishing on the skin. So, is it a dupe? I don’t want to make that judgement but, they are verrrryy similar 😆 Overall, this a pretty decent essence mist for added hydration. I’m just not a fan of rose scents. Before and after brow tint
The first picture shows my eyebrows after applying the brow tint and leaving on for 3 hours. I’m actually happy with the result, the colour is a close match, pretty pigmented, although nor perfect, but definitely still doable. If be happy with this temporary cooour for a few days. The second picture shows the tint almost completely washed off and revealing my red tinted eyebrows (from faded tattoo) after just one day. The colour was supposed to last 3 days, but from washing my face (day and night) it faded after one.. which i was not very impressed with.. i dont think Maybelline expects us to avoid our eyebrows when washing our face to keep the product on... do they?

MAKEUP TIPS FOR ZOOM CALLS #quarantinemakeup
With all meetings and classes being held online on Zoom now, I have realized the essential makeup tricks to make myself look presentable and glowy on-screen! I know with social distancing no one leaves their home anymore (including me!) but a little makeup always makes me feel mentally prepared to tackle anything!1) Conceal darkness!Webcams always accentuate the dark circles under your eyes or any dullness in the skin. So concealer is always a must! ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Radiant Concealer in 2WThis is my go-to concealer. It has medium/full coverage and a natural satin finish. It never looks cakey no matter how much I build it up and always makes my skin look smooth and flawless!2) Define the brows!Brows frame the face. So if I want to define my face, it starts with the brows! Even if it’s just “beefing” them up with a volumizing brow gel or filling in the gaps with a skinny pencil, a little goes a long way with brows!benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Ultra Fine Shape & Define Mini in 4This is a great skinny brow pencil. It’s a little creamier compared to my favorites (Fenty Brow MVP & Anastasia Brow Wiz) which tend to be more waxy. Though it lasts really well and works fast!3) Flutter those lashes!Mascara is a huge game-changer for my face. It adds depth to my eyes and definitely makes me appear more awake on video calls (I’ve tested it out!)HONEST - Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer This is one of my HOLY GRAIL mascaras! Surprisingly it’s not waterproof, but holds a curl very well and adds length and volume! I love that it’s a primer/mascara duo because it just allows me to really build up my lashes and fully customize my look! 4) Add a glow!✨To me, glow means color and shine on the cheeks; a little bronzer or blush and some dewy highlight on top. HOURGLASS - Illume Sheer Color Trio My favorite cream cheek palette ever! The shades are perfection for someone with a light/medium skin tone. The formula is extremely creamy and dries down to a nice satin finish that doesn’t budge!CHANEL - BAUME ESSENTIEL Multi-Use Glow Stick in SculptingI love the glow that I get from this highlight! It’s pure shiny, dewiness and I love the way it finishes off my cheeks and adds a literal *glow*! 5) A touch of color on the lips!My natural lips are quite light and can sometimes make me look a little unwell on camera if I don’t apply anything with color. Glossier. - Generation G in LikeThis is favorite MLBB lip color! The formula is a soft-matte formula with a unique creamy texture. The result is always nothing short of a fade, blotted stain on the lips- I love it!

pore off: the ordinary vs. Masque BAR
🍄 a mask off 🍄 the product matchup masQueB·A·R - PRETTY Animalz vs. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 🍄 the winner: The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution - more uses per bottle - incredibly potent formula 🍄 The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution You’ve seen it everywhere for good reason. its expensive, easy to use and super powerful. My friends who have borrowed it buy it for themselves. You feel it working and are left with soft and smooth skin in the morning. dark spots disappear faster and pores diminish immediately after. Yes it burns a but, but super yes! it works! 🍄 MasqueBAR Pretty Animals Puppy Pore Control with grapefruit, lime and pineapple extract, this single use sheet mask has is gentle and brightening. Pores appear a little tightened, and the novelty of a doggy mask is kinda fun and terrifying at the same time. At $4 a pop, its much less of a deal than the ordinary. Its much gentler though, especially if you have sensitive skin.

TikTok Hack Tested 🖤 Flawless Base
Everyone has seen the beauty hacks on tiktok but one I kept seeing over and over again was a ‘how to create a flawless base’. It said all you needed was a powder, primer, and foundation. I have oily skin and my make up tends to slide off easily so I decided to test out if it works. In the TikTok the girl said you needed to go through your normal skincare routine and after your moisturizer instead of going in with your primer you first dust a light layer of powder over the skin. Then you’re supposed to go in with the primer. After that you apply your foundation like normal and it is supposed to give you a flawless base. I went in initially with my URBAN DECAY - The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Medium . This is my FAVORITE powder. You can either use it to set the face or mix in with your foundation so I figured it was the best choice. It always leaves my face feeling velvet soft. I then went in with my URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Face Primer which is more of a creamy consistency. Normally this smooths all over the face but there was a little bit more of a tug with the powder base which was odd. I wasn’t a fan of the feeling but when I wasn’t spreading it around it felt fine. Finally, I went in with my trusty ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation . This is a full coverage, matte foundation. It’s my favorite foundation in my collection and I chose this because I know how it wears. I was surprised that the foundation smoothed over the base I created. I feel like it gave it a little more coverage because it stuck to the powder. I usually go in with two layers in some spots and I found myself only needing one layer. It looked pretty good! My only issue is some spots where I went in with extra powder the foundation clung a little too much so I could see spots so I would be very light handed with the powder. I’m actually really happy with this hack and it will be something I will experiment more with in the future. A problem area on my face is my nose because foundation never wants to create an even layer there and my nose looks flawless. The only thing I would change (besides using less powder) is not powdering under my eyes. I did this and the concealer didn’t want to blend out there and it creased more than it usually does. Other than that I think it’s worth checking out only if you have oily skin.

DIY Quarantine Glamour Selfie: 💦 Water
Being cooped up in my house has me UNMOTIVATED and BORED, feeling gross sitting in my bed for hours upon hours...time for a photo shoot! I’ve been working on several ideas to create interesting selfies and my first post is using something we all have: water! The common household items you’ll need are: -Glass from a photo frame OR Saran Wrap -a spray water bottle or setting mist/spray -good lighting -phone camera You’ll start by spraying your translucent surface with your spray water/liquid to create a “rainy window” look. Then, you will get into your selfie position and hold the translucent item between you and your camera. Then, SNAP, take that selfie you QUEEN! This DIY was pretty easy. The only thing I had trouble with was avoiding the glare from my bathroom lights and sink. These shots can be turned a bit moodier with some photo editing as well! Have you tried any kind of “glamour shot” during this time to lighten your mood? Tell me about it!
beta hydroxy acid: sephora vs. caudalie
🍄 the highlighted ingredient: beta hydroxy acid, an oil dissolver used to treat acne and oily skin 🍄 the clean products: CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum $49 vs SEPHORA COLLECTION - Clear Skin Days by Clarifying Serum $12 🍄 the winner: Sephora Collection Clear Skin Days Clairifying Serum - effective for a wide variety of skin issues - also has glycolic and hyaluronic acids - inexpensive for 1.76 oz 🍄 Sephora Collection Clear Skin Days Clairifying Serum This lovely serum has become a must-have in my AM and PM routine. It cuts through oil with a BHA, with Glycolic acid a skin refining AHA and hyaluronic acid for hydration. I use a few drops on my face everyday and have seen a drastic decrease in breakouts. my skin looks and feels so much healthier. i will be repurchasing when i run out. This is an amazing booster serum for those with oily skin/acne/scarring 🍄 Caudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum This serum is also super good for acne/oily skin with very similar ingredients. It contains naturally derived Salicylic acid for oil, grape seed polyphenols for antioxidants, and an essential oil complex. As a general rule, i don’t put essential oils directly onto skin, so if you have sensitive skin, this may be a little irritating. It is also effective at refining skin, but i balk at the $49 price tag for only 1 oz.
